We had a very large bedroom with a lovely view, and had a delicious home cooked evening meal on one night. Everything really comfortable. Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming, giving us useful information about the local area. There was a comfortable lounge as well. If we ever return to this area would definitely stay here again.

Firstly I will start by saying what a lovely host Andrew was, he was so helpful and happy to do so. The breakfast (full Scottish) was delicious, it kept us full when out walking. Our room was a bit disappointing as there were bunkbeds and a double bed, more of a family room than for a couple. The decor could...

We are very glad that you enjoyed your stay in Wigtown; It is shame though that you did not appreciate the decor of our family room, nor the bunks which we have tried to hide around the corner as much as possible. It would appear that you made no preference when booking as to the choice of room and usually...

Located near the town centre with on site parking this is well worth considering if you plan to stay at Wigtown. Warm and friendly reception, spacious room, comfortable bed and excellent shower. Good quality all round including the free wifi, standard of toiletries, thick bath towels and excellent breakfast.

I stayed at Hillcrest House with my daughter on 26th October. Andrew was very warm and welcoming and showed us up to our beautiful room - the Solway twin. The room and bathroom were immaculate and very comfortable. The full Scottish breakfast that we chose from an extensive menu was delicious. I would definitely recommend Hillcrest House and plan to...

We chose to upgrade to a superior room before our arrival, using a buy a gift card for our 2 nt stay, paid an extra £30 for the 2 nts.well worth it. Lovely guest house, clean, parking, lovely breakfast. Shame nowhere to eat in the evening in Wigtown, but only a mile to bradnoch nearby which had a nice pub.

Thanks for adding your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately there is are a lack of places to eat locally on a Monday /Tuesday - but we do offer dinner here and a new evening restaurant had recently opened in the town Wednesday - Sunday so things are improving!

We were very warmly welcomed and shown up to a lovely room. The views were right across to the sea, and very comfortable armchairs placed to enjoy them. Everything was provided, including binoculars, a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent, 1st class poached egg.

We received a lovely welcome to Hillcrest and enjoyed a lovely 2 nights there. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Our little dog was welcomed too and even had her own welcome pack, dog bowl and biscuits.

What a wonderful gem of a hotel. Such welcoming owners, who are happy to help make your stay extra special. Our room (Dornoch) was wonderful, comfortable and luxurious. The shower was stunning, and the day bed lovely and comfy, with handmade coverings. Breakfast every day was fantastic, mostly from local suppliers. I thoroughly recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs,...

We actually stayed here in June 2015 but trip advisor won't let me go back that far. This is a beautiful guest house close to the centre of Wigtown (famous for its book shops). Our host was pleasant and friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and yet left you to your privacy as required. The breakfast menu was varied from full...

Wigtown was a blind choice as a way point on our tour. Hillcrest was a pleasant surprise and well worthwhile. The hosts were a delightful couple who were proud of their beautiful house. Rooms were large with high ceilings and the lounge was well appointed.
