We spent a most enjoyable one night stay at the Glaisnock and would definitely stay there again. The room was spacious, the bed fantastic, the ensuite a little on the small side however everything you needed. Nothing was too much trouble for Carl and his great staff. The meal in the " cafe" at the evening was excellent, the butternut...

It was really hard to decide what rating to give Glaisnock.. I would say it is good, but with a few tweaks could be very good. The location in Wigtown is excellent with ample free parking just opposite the house. The welcome was friendly and the hosts have managed to hit the spot between friendly but not intrusive perfectly. Upon...

My wife & me had a three night stay here with my elderly mother. Rooms were clean & comfortable, though our room would benefit with a wardrobe & wall mirror. Food, both breakfast and evening meal, was excellent. My mother said that the porridge was the best she had tasted. Hosts Stephanie & Carl were lovely, as were their staff....

Lovely town, very pleasant stay. Room was at the back of the house, large bedroom small bathroom but ok. Quiet, had a good sleep. Breakfast very good, dinner was lovely also. Only problem I had was there was no wardrobe or drawers in the room only bedside units with a small draw each side and no mirror available for drying...

We spent one night at Glaisnock, and will be back. We had went up to the area as we enjoy going to stone circles and monuments (there's quite a few in the area). We where greeted on arrival, and shown to our room by very attentive staff. The room was lovely, well decorated and very clean yet cosy. There where...

Like our last visit we got a warm welcome, a home away from home welcome! We stayed for 3 nights, and Steph was kind enough to cook for us every evening, so nice food we didn't want to go anywhere else! The Freshly 'caught' haggis, so good it ended on our plates twice! Varied menu, and our teenage daughter who...

I was greeted with a warm friendly welcome after driving 6hrs to get to Wigtown. The owner made me feel relaxed and welcomed. A great first impression. My room was comfortable with great views over the town. I had some spare time to fill and was offered plenty of suggestions of sights and things to see and do as well...

We spent two nights at Glaisnock House, and as I have written in a review of the cafe, b&b is just as nice. Fantastic hosts, clean and nice rooms, quiet and relaxing. We will be back as soon as we can, no need to look anywhere else for accommodation, Glaisnock is where we'll choose to stay!! Thank you Stephanie and...

I booked a room here while in the adjoining cafe. I returned on a damp autumn day. The friendly hospitality certainly brightened the day. I was the first guest of the day to arrive. I was given the choice of which room I preferred, how wonderful. I opted for room1 which has a slightly smaller bathroom but has the finer...

The Glaisnock is located in the middle of Wigtown with plenty of free parking in front of the property. We received a warm, friendly welcome and given lots of information about the surrounding area. The room was clean, fresh, comfortable, basic but with everything you need. Great for the price. Guests also have access to rooms down stairs and garden...
