Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived 30 mins before the cafe opened in the rain and were told we could not use the tables to make a brew until they opened at 10 am. We were also told not to wait in the yard until they opened. There were 4 of us who would have spent £60 + on breakfast. We were also told it would cost £3 to access the internet. Not the highland hospitality I have come to expect, especially as they are on the Cape trail route and should be catering for backpackers/hikers, very disappointing and very rude.

After a long day on the Cape Wrath Trail this was a real oasis. Marion and Matthew are so welcoming and accommodating. I arrived unexpectedly at 7pm and was provided with a lovely room, fantastic 3 course meal and drying room. Breakfast was excellent too. I was running on fumes when I arrived and I’m not sure I could have continued the CWT without your kind hospitality. Thank you so much for your exceptional B&B and service.

Turned up unannounced at lunchtime incredibly tired after 3 days of the Cape Wrath trial. I enquired if they had a room and in an hour they had prepared one for me and subsequently fed me extremely well! Marion and Matthew couldn’t have been more hospital. A very warm welcome indeed. GS

One of the warmest, most hospitable welcomes I have ever known at a tearoom: the host seemed genuinely pleased to see all of the guest, and nothing seemed too much trouble. No menu, but they told us what they had, and the range of good wholesome food seemed wide enough to satisfy most needs. My choice of tea, sausages, eggs and bacon, followed by millionaire's shortbread were all excellent.

Really do have some outstanding views and some easy to hard hikes all around you. The rooms here at this b&b are very smart and clean and the hosts are very friendly. Breakfast is good. The road to the property is right at the end of a single track road.

Rooms to an extremely high standard and excellent home made food. Owners Vicky and Iain were friendly, welcoming and a great laugh. Outstanding location away from it all. Road in amazing. Local wildlife plentiful and friendly.

Single overnight stay on a cycling trip - this was a highlight of the trip. Welcomed by Iain & Vicky and had a cool beer in the courtyard on arrival after a long cycle. The accommodation is newly completed and of a good standard. The level of cleanliness was second to none. The dinner offered (there is not a lot of other places to go!) was excellent. Well-prepared, hearty food with (good) wine also provided We stayed in the main building, no the self-catering. A great place to stay in an amazing location. Highly recommended.

We stayed for 4 nights in 'The Stables' B&B accommodation, which has been recently refurbished to a high standard. Our room was beautiful and very clean and comfortable. Evening meals can be ordered in advance (there is no-where else to eat locally) and the home-cooked food was both delicious and good value. The owners were in residence at the time, and couldn't do enough to help us, including arranging a return boat ride to Barrisdale Bay so that we could bag Ladhar Bheinn. The accommodation here is a perfect base for Munro and Corbett bagging and for expeditions into Knoydart, as well as a stop-off for a night's R&R on the Cape Wrath Trail. It was welcoming to both guests and passing visitors alike; offering meals and showers to passing long-distance walkers. We met so many interesting people and had a wonderful four days; I would love to visit again. It would be great as the start and finish for a longer trip into Knoydart.

After walking from Sourlies bothy we arrived in Kinlochhourn at 7pm tired and hopeful that the tea room would be open for a cold drink. Couldn't believe our luck when Harriet the owner not offered cold drinks but beef stew and spaghetti Bolognese too! Delicious meal in fantastic surroundings, just wished we could have stayed the night instead of getting eaten alive by midges at the campsite along the road.

Visited the cafe during a trip on the cape wrath trail with my girlfriend. Great stop for fresh morning coffee and a tasty egg sandwich. Host was very friendly even providing a weather update. Recommend
