Had an absolutely wonderful time on an all too short open water swimming break . Great location great team team great fellow guests great food Great accommodation. Off grid and comfort. Such fun in the lake river and waterfall.
Just back from an incredible few days glamping at the Forge. From start to finish Jamie was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble and he was always on hand for any queries. The accommodation literally has everything you could possibly need and they have really thought of everything when designing the layout. The log burner inside the tent was a great addition and kept us warm all night. This was the kids first experience of camping and they literally didn't want to leave. The onsite free activities made it for them and included fire lighting, axe throwing and bread making. We had a brilliant time and will definitely be back!
This was our third time staying at The Forge and it didn't disappoint! We love it there, such a peaceful and beautiful site with fantastic facilities! The tents are beautifully kept, clean and well presented with everything you need for your stay. We can't wait to visit again!
We had the whole site to ourselves (20ish adults/ kids and one dog) for a long weekend and it was perfect. We had incredible weather so were able to make the most of a fire making activity for the kids, axe throwing lesson for all and wild swimming the nearby River Dee. Across all of this we each had space in our own tents. I was in Bluebell corner and found the meadow and morning light so calming. A few of our group went out on runs and walks, whereas others enjoyed sitting at the top of the hillfort, playing table tennis or cooking together. I really appreciate the focus on sustainable living and local products (in the shop and also in the tent kitchens). And the compost toilets were the cleanest I've ever seen. Thanks so much to the whole Forge team!
One of our favourite places! Just enjoyed another weekend there, we had the whole site plus two extra pop up bell tents. Fab facilities, amazing staff and great activities. The kids loved learning how to light fires with Lewis (he handled 13 children all desperate to toast marshmallows!!!) and axe throwing - the grown ups got pretty competitive. The communal hut is a great space for everyone to hang out, with a large kitchen area for group cooking. There's a pool table, table tennis and plenty of games and books, plus a big comfy sofa and wood burner - very cosy. We had good weather so spent all our time sitting outside watching the kids run around and play during the day, and enjoying the communal fire pit in the evening. Can't wait to go back . Thanks Sheena, Jamie and the team for a great weekend.…
