Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The house was very clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed with plenty of space for us all to fit in. The gardens were perfect for our young kids to play and explore in safety, while also having lots of places for us to gather and relax as a group. The hosts were welcoming, knew a lot about the area and were helpful when showing us around and explaining how things worked.

What a brilliant place to stay. If you are looking for a really family friendly place where you can spend time relaxing and making memories this is it. There are lots of rooms in the main house, due to the size many can be set up to accommodate a family. But for me the outside space that is safe and secure for families is a winner. It includes a fire pit area for the evenings and a playground for the kids in the day. As a mum of young kids, cots, high chairs, stair gates and the garden being fenced in meant I was able to relax even more. The hosts are really helpful and knowledgeable so if you have a request or aren't sure then just ask. Massive thumbs up from me and we will be sure to return.

We stayed for 2 nights for a large family celebration, 19 adults and 4 children, so we had the house and both cottages. The owner, Lucy was so helpful throughout the booking and organisation process, answering my many emails promptly and giving much needed advice, nothing was too much trouble for her. The house is beautiful but 2 days just wasn’t enough to enjoy all the facilities. There is plenty of space for parking - we had 8 cars. The garden is impressive, a field for the big and little kids to play football, childrens play area, outdoor table seating, loungers and a firepit chilling place, I didn’t even get around to checking out the large chess/draughts set in the garden. The hot tub was perfect, ready to use when we got there. Inside the house there is lots of space and plenty of rooms to chill. The kitchen was perfect with all the usual appliances, big American fridge freezer, plenty of room for all our drinks - the coffee machine was a huge winner for us, and the lovely extra touches of a welcome basket with cereal, coffee beans, biscuits and crisps. There were plenty of plates, glasses and cutlery for our party. We had a very active toddler with us and was pleased to see there were stair guards on all the stairs. We used all the bedrooms, Lucy arranged extra beds for the kids in the biggest room (room 1). Plenty of sockets and clothes hangers in all rooms. The cottages were equally perfect. The Stable Cottage, 1 bedroom is a perfect place for a couple to stay - The Cow Shed is perfect for a family of 4. Both very well equipped, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. Again the same lovely welcome basket in both cottages. Overall Highly recommended! We will return as a group again and definitely stay longer!! As a note, we ordered Tesco delivery for our basics which saved a lot of time. Yum Yums in Corwen provided a fabulous buffet. Also I can highly recommend Alpine travel for coach hire. We visited Llandudno and were worried about parking for so many cars so we hired a midi coach for the day - the service we received was amazing.

We stayed at Powys county house in Aug 2020 after a much needed family gathering after lockdown, we have booked many large family holiday homes, this one has got to take number one place. At first we had reservations about Andy living so close, but what an assest he turned out to be, helping us with a car breakdown and it became clear he enjoyed seeing us have a enjoyable time together as a family, the house was nothing but outstanding, catering for all ages, the games room, swing park, beautiful gardens and newly build fire pit area was enjoyed by all. The bedrooms all have ensuite and furnished to a high standard, ontop of all this we had 5 days of lovely sunny weather, nothing but 5* all round. We all throughly enjoyed our 5 days here and we will most definitely be returning . Thank you Andy for being helpful, kind and understanding. Louise mould

We stayed in one of the cottages at Powys House with our two young children (3 & 1) for the weekend and we wish we could have stayed longer, it was hard to drag both us and the kids away! With an abundance of outside space for the kids to explore, immaculate accommodation and super friendly owners we felt at ease from the moment we arrived. The scenery and setting is beautiful with lots to do in the area, we particularly enjoyed afternoon tea on the Corwen railway! Will definitely be returning and bringing our friends and family with us!

Just had the most fantastic stay, Powys house has everything you need and more - hot tub, games room , outside games, stream and childrens park. Nothing was too much for the owners and it was all immaculate- the setting is simply glorious!!!. If you manage to drag yourself away from the house. Corwen's a couple of minutes away and it's just an hour to the coast! I'm renaming it 'Perfect House'....... We will certainly be returning!!

Stayed here awhile ago but never did a review. We had a family of 16 of us and hired out the whole building for 3 nights a few days before Xmas. It was magical! Hot tub in the snow! Great games room with pool tables etc. The owners helped us out with ingredients that we forgot when making our Xmas dinner that we had seated around a MASSIVE beautiful round table. Can't say enough about this place. Just marvellous.
