Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great service from booking to departure. Room 3 was very light and airy with a pleasant view out to the front. Bed was very comfy and every where was clean. Visited during covid so challenging time for all. All measures and extra were put in place so we felt extremely safe yet totally relaxed. Car park was very spacious . Position in the town was excellent. Just a short walk to beach and town. Would highly recommend and visit again.

We love coming to stay with Mike and Lynne at Egryn. Throughout the years we have stayed in several different rooms to accommodate our varying needs. The welcome is always warm, the accommodation comfortable, clean and provides everything we need for a lovely stay. We look forward to staying with you again 😆.

We stayed for a couple of nights earlier this week and could not fault our stay.
Everything was superb the location, service and hospitality.
Hotel felt very Covid safe.
Only advise apart from if your going to Abersoch stay here is to make sure you have plans for dinner in the town, it's very busy and places get full quickly.
Enjoy

Very disappointed with this hotel. It needs a total refurbishment and cleanliness isn’t too standard. The positive is it’s a good location. Having breakfast is like sitting in a cheap cafe with great views of cob webs on the lights. Maybe because of positive reviews I had high expectations. I’m not overly fussy but I like my accommodation to be clean with attention to detail. The bed was comfortable but the wiring looked a bit unsafe.

Much change at the Egryn.
Following Covid and local staff shortages, the owners are altering the Egryn. They no longer include a full breakfast and instead the rooms have a basic “kitchen” area where one can cook in a microwave, boil a kettle or make toast. There is no longer a lounge area with honesty bar or conservatory seating area

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The bedroom was lovely and comfortable and the room was spacious, however, the bathroom was a bit tired and had a musty smell to it with tired fittings and a rusty toilet roll holder.
There was also no breakfast - although there was a microwave, kettle and fridge in the room with plates and cutlery to make our own. We are not sure what breakfast we could make in a microwave?
A great location but could be so much more! Looking at other reviews, they used to do breakfast…….. Shame they have changed their business model!

The Egryn is nicely located for Abersoch village and beach. Having private parking is a definite advantage. The breakfast is freshly cooked and has everything one needs. My only negative is this : the room was not as clean as I personally would have liked, especially during a pandemic. Dont get me wrong the peripheral cleaning was spot on ie bedding, furniture etc ... I am a little picky .. the overall bathroom was clean but I had to DEEP CLEAN the toilet ... Without going into too much detail under the rim was NOT clean. The towels needed a boil wash as there were stains on them and what were once white are not white !! Fortunately I took my own towels and bought cleaning products for the toilet. Would it stop me staying again.... NO !

Yeah, Yeah; I get it. Holidays aren’t meant to be about the internet. They’re all about getting out there, going places, seeing stuff. And during our trip to Abersoch we absolutely did that. But the internet is useful. It helps you plan; helps you work out where to go and what to do as well as keeping you in touch with the folks back home.

Which brings us to the Egryn. How to say this? There’s no WiFi. At least, none that works. Not on the second floor. Not on the first floor. Not in the dining room. Not in reception. Zilch. And it wasn’t just our problem. The couple seated on the next table at breakfast had exactly the same issue. No internet anywhere.

So if you’re wanting to make a trip to Abersoch and are considering the Egryn: well, it may not be for you. Personally, I was disappointed. After all, if something’s in the description, you think it’s actually going to be there. The hub flashed and dazzled but it’s pretty pointless if it doesn’t actually work.

Two stars, then. One because it was there, and one for the excellent Covid-compliance. It’s a safe place to be during these troubled times. Such a shame that it isn’t all its cracked up to be, WiFi-wise.

If there is anyone out there who needs a therapeutic relaxing break. This is the place. Weather was just right. Abersoch is fabulous made more special by Lynne and Mike’s Egryn Hotel.
We were one of the first guests post you know what and all feeling our way.
Check-in was contact -less which was good name on a board and key left for you.
Breakfast all controlled with happy smiles.
Would we return - of course!
