As you are welcomed into The Old Rectory a spacious hall gives you an idea of the space and comfort offered. Leading off from the hall are the drawing room, dining room and staircase to your rooms, which are tastefully furnished and decorated and feature fine linens and toiletries. The dining room, with views over the garden, catches the morning sun.The beautiful light-filled sitting room, with its magnificent fireplace and outlook over the front and rear gardens, is quiet and relaxing. A log fire adds to the welcome in the cooler months and the decoration, antiques and comfortable furnishing provide a home-from-home atmosphere. Pwllheli, Abersoch, Llanbedrog, Nefyn, Aberdaron, Criccieth, and Porthmadog are but a few of the most popular local towns on the Llyn Peninsula, and all within easy reach.Quiet walks with spectacular scenery lead from the end of the drive. The North and South coasts with sandy beaches and cliff walks are within a five minute drive. The golf courses of Nefyn, Pwllheli, Abersoch, Criccieth and Harlech are all short drive away and we can arrange your reservation for you (often with a discount). In the immediate local area activities such as clay pigeon shooting, shooting, horse riding, water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, wake boarding, boat trips, archery, ten pin bowling, go-karting, quad biking and cycling are available. The railways of Ffestiniog, the Welsh Highland and Mount Snowdon provide wonderful ways to see Snowdonia. Caernarfon, Bangor, Portmerion, Conway, Bodnant Gardens and Anglesey are just some of the places to visit. Out of season have the beaches and roads to yourself. The climate is mild and the Llyn Peninsula has a micro climate that is often drier and sunnier than the forecast shows.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Just returned from a week at the lodge, which was exceptional in terms of comfort and relaxation. Boduan is a great base to explore the Llyn Peninsula as well as the magnificent Snowdon. The wife also loved Aberdaron, amongst the many places we visited. Many thanks to Jeanette for being so helpful (the 🧅 onion) and for taking the time to help with our booking for the lodge. Hope to see you soon and thanks for making our stay a great experience.

We had a fantastic time at the lodge. We came to celebrate our friends 40th birthday and it was brilliant from start to finish! If we could have dropped work commitments we would have stayed longer!!! The lodge is very clean and well maintained and it was the perfect setting for our celebrations. Jeanette was a very welcoming host and took the time to show us around the lodge. She even left a bottle of wine by the door to say happy birthday to our friend - such a lovely touch! We can’t wait to return again with our children and continue to enjoy the local area even more! Thanks again - 10 out of 10!!!

We had an amazing stay here for my husband's 40th. Jeannette and Wilf were incredibly helpful during our stay and helped us plan things to do including a fabulous meal at Tremfan Hall. The cottage was wonderful, plenty of space but cosy. The outside area was lovely and private with an amazing hot tub. Beds were super comfortable. Great location to travel to Abersoch, Llanbedrog or Pwllheli. We would love to go back again. Highly recommend

Really special place. Beautifully updated with modern facilities but retaining traditional character. Comfy beds. Nothing to much trouble for the owners who were very welcoming. We will be back to explore the area more fully and will definitely stay here. We were at a wedding at Nant gwrtheyrn which is a stunning place so lots to see and do in the area.

This is our 3rd time staying in the Cottage at the Old Rectory (so something must be good). We absolutely love coming here, and Jeanette & Wilf couldn't be better hosts. They leave you to your stay in complete privacy but are always on hand if you need anything at all. We can say hand on heart the Hume family are now such wonderful friends of ours. The Cottage is absolutely fabulous, so tastefully decorated and so cosy. Fully kitted out (including Broadband, DVDs, Netflix etc) so the kids are never bored! The wonderful hot-tub is absolute heaven whatever time of year you stay here. We've been over the summer, autumn, and most recently just after Christmas. On each occasion our break has just been so magical. We always are met with such a warm welcome, and always great treats which are gratefully received. Cottage sleeps x4 comfortably (one double & x2 singles). There is also an incredible Lodge on the property which sleeps x6 and also has a hot-tub to match! Location is perfect to tour the wonderful Llyn peninsula, and beaches are 5 mins away (as are pubs, and shops). We've already booked to come back next Summer. Couldn't recommend the place (and owners!) more highly!!

We travelled as a group of 8 adults, all family meeting up for an early Christmas get together, and from the first minute we arrived we were all super impressed. As you turn into the driveway you are presented with an awesome view of the beautiful house. We had access to the cottage and the lodge both of which were spacious and comfortable and have lovely decorative touches that made it feel extra special. In terms of the facilities, we managed to cook a Christmas dinner for all with little fuss (and no arguing :-)) and also made use of the hot tub for an extra special night under the stars. Basically it's got everything you need! The location is perfect, situated in a lovely, quiet, rural and picturesque area. Great for accessing all the nearby towns and sights (including lovely beaches) with plenty to explore. A special shout out to our amazing hosts, Wilf and Jeanette, who gave us a big warm welcome and were on hand whenever needed - a BIG thank you! The fact that we can't wait to return says it all! We can't recommend it enough!

Couldn’t rate this holiday cottage enough. A warm welcome by the owners, Jeanette & Wilf. Such a gorgeous place for a few days away to blow the cobwebs away. The lodge itself I could only describe as so cosy, clean and everything on hand for all you need. The finishing touches of the cottage were amazing and what can I say about the hot tub, could have stayed there forever. Would definitely visit again and already planning for our next stay in the summer.
