This was such a gorgeous, unique hotel stay. We stayed after climbing Snowdon and it was fabulous! So quaint and quiet, We loved how it felt like you were in a home. I agree with some reviews, we hardly saw any staff but it was quite nice feeling like it was your own home and we did feel very welcome. I would absolutely stay again!

We stayed at Meifod House as we were looking for somewhere relatively close to ZipWorld. The hotel owner greeted us upon arrival, she was very pleasant and polite. She was very helpful but very rarely seen. Our room was a suite with a four-poster bed. The bed was really comfortable and we both slept really well. There was no noise whatsoever from the nearby road. The room was very well presented and clean. On further inspection we noticed a few imperfections. The bath was scratched and looked dirty due to this. The shower curtain around the bath was mouldy. The basin was not attached to the wall. The room had quite basic selection of beverages for a room of such opulence. The tea and coffee provided was below par - just cheap Tetley and a jar of dried coffee granules. There was a free-standing bath in our room, however you will need to provide your own bubble bath to make full use of that facility. The window handles were broken or completely missing which considering just how warm this room got, was less than ideal. There was a fan provided which we had no choice to use. The room was described as having robes and a hair dryer, neither of which were provided. There is a TV in the room, a small fridge and also ironing facilities. There is ample storage space for clothes and belongings if you were staying on a longer basis. There are two comfortable chairs provided and plenty of mirrors. We had a nice stay, it was ideal for the nature of our trip but probably wouldn't look to return. We don't believe the room is value for money as a lot of the finishing touches are missing or require some TLC. There is a social area in the hotel. We did not make use of this. However should you wish to, there are board games, a library and a bar which you can make full use of as you wish. We did not have breakfast so are unable to comment. Felt it should be included in the price given the cost of a night's stay. …

From check in to check out, a delightful experience. The lady who checked us in was an absolute Sweetheart. She answered our questions and gave us some great advice on where to eat that night. We took a cab into town for dinner. Our room was well appointed, comfortable and homey. We felt like we were in a family home. There was a lovely quaint sitting area at the little bar. Parking was not an issue and the breakfast was good.

The interior decor of Meifod House is exceptional. We received a warm welcome from all staff. The room was well-equipped with a comfortable bed. Despite the grandeur, the hotel was comfortable and friendly.

The warmest of welcomes and beautiful hotel. The room was spacious and the bed and pillows were amazing. Luxurious decor and spotlessly clean. Stunning grounds, and reception rooms in a quiet location. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.

From the warm welcome to the best breakfast, we loved this hotel. It’s very boutique and relaxing. The decor is gorgeous and there are so many room to relax in. It’s a gem. Our only quibble was with regulating the temperature in our shower - that needs a check.

My daughter and I stayed here on a weekend away - it is beautiful. The room “Menai” was a really good size with 2 single beds (can also be a king too), so so so comfortable. All the amenities you would expect in your room. Decoration throughout the hotel was stunning. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend without hesitation.

A country hotel that caters for weddings & funerals more than casual travellers. However, the friendly owner kept the hotel open just for us as I had booked. We had a great conversation in Welsh as this is a Welsh speaking area, & she explained she had been busy & had a family illness, so had decided to close, but kept it open as I had a reservation. We had a palatial room & bathroom with a four poster bed. It was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was well cooked & there was plenty to eat. As we were alone, the waitress disappeared so we were unable to get extra coffee. Normally with a full house this would not happen. I would stay there again.

Stayed for the night after walking up snowdon. The lady who runs it is lovely and very attentive. The rooms are big, very large comfy beds. Breakfast was delicious. This place would be perfect for a wedding. Id have given this 5* if there was a bigger bathroom with a bath (my muscles were aching after snowdon and all the promotional photos show a fancy big bath)… our bathroom was tiny with a shower (which had a dodgy door). That being said I’d stay again. Only a 5 minute cab ride into the town centre
