We stayed at the hotel for two nights, it was a nice clean room with a comfortable bed. The couple running it were pleasant and the breakfast was lovely. The location is great for the castle view & short walks to the beaches. It could do with a bit of tlc on the outside & it isn't the cheapest place... More

Needed a break, somewhere quite where we could gaze out to sea and lose ourselves for a while so the off season village of Criccieth seemed an ideal place. Billed as "quirky" the Marine Hotel lived up to its billing but the room (the best in the house) was large with a sitting area in front of a large window... More

Stopped here overnight to visit family nearby. The marine hotel is very dated and I was very disappointed with how much we spent for one night, it certainly wasn't worth the money. The bar was basic. The "restaurant" was ok and had a bit of choice although we only had breakfast here. I was very taken back by the owners.... More

Tired and tatty inside and out, with matching management and staff. Indeed, the Addams Family home has much in common, right down to an obligatory tower and greasy long-haired servant lurking in the background! Such a same, because the hotel has so much potential and was an institution up to twenty years ago. But that was when professional hoteliers ran... More

Seeing that the weather was going to be good on 2-3 October, I decided to book a room at a dog-friendly hotel in Criccieth. I was delighted when I was able to book at the Marine Hotel, which is opposite the castle and overlooking the West Beach. When I was a kid (I'm 63 now) my family holidayed every year... More

The location of this hotel is perfect and the views amazing. Upon arriving it is in desperate need of an update both inside and out. The residents toilets are shocking. The lady who runs it is very pleasant and helpful and the dining area and food really good. With some money spent on it, it could be a fantastic hotel.

This was a little stop for us on our way back to South Wales from the ferry port. The hotel was conveniently located with stunning views of the sea and Criccieth castle, which was beautiful. Parking was ample and Gaynor was very friendly and informative. Check in was easy. The room was a good size, we had a double bed,... More

I wound up at the Marine Hotel by shear good fortune, having been unable to find accommodation in nearby Porthmadog. The building, attractive in it's own right, is in a great position, giving views of the castle and the sea, and is only a short walk from both. I was welcomed warmly and showed to an immaculate en suite room... More

We stayed here for one night over the bank holiday in the big family room. The hotel is very quirky, it's a huge imposing place in a very prominent position in front of the castle and sea. As noted on other reviews, the place really needs painting and updating both inside and out, although I quite thought the decor contributed... More

We said at the marine hotel in Aug 16. I was a little apprehensive due to the reviews but when we arrived we were warmly welcomed. Our room was a quad room with a view. The view was spectacular you could see both the castle and the sea. The room was spacious with two singles and a double and en.... More
