Another perfect stay at our favourite hotel. The hotel was closing for the season and we were the last guests, however as usual, nothing was too much trouble and all menu choices were available at dinner and breakfast. Really enjoyed this late break and we can’t wait to return next year. Thank you Michael, Francis, Laura, Amber, Chris and Dom for looking after us so well x

The Caerwylan Hotel in Criccieth, North Wales has to be one of the best hotels, if not the best I’ve stayed in.. I used to stay here with my late wife who, sadly passed away last New Year so my visit wasn’t going to be easy! This hotel comes with every detail and if I tried to find the slightest fault, I couldn’t. The whole hotel, from the brilliant attentive staff to the furnishings and decor are first class in every way. There are wonderful sea views from the lounge and some bedrooms. The hotel closes in December and January but if you get the opportunity to stay then you won’t be disappointed.

This was our fifth stay at The Caerwylan. The Hotel is absolutely superb by any measure that you might want to apply. The rooms are very comfortable and well supplied with toiletries etc; the views are spectacular; the restaurant is excellent with super breakfast options and a very good range of choices for evening dining. Most important of all, the staff at the Hotel are exceptional; each and every one of them work really hard to ensure the comfort of the guests. We will certainly be returning for further stays at The Caerwylan in the lovely little town of Criccieth.

The Caerwylan is consistently first class. . From booking in, to leaving, the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. It is said that staff maketh a business, and it is certainly true here. We stayed in an Executive room, and if you can, you must. The room is fabulous, very clean and welcoming, but the view, and waking up and dropping off to the sounds of the sea is amazing. Breakfast and evening meals are of excellent quality and beautifully presented, in a very pleasant dining room. The bar is very well stocked and reasonably priced. All-in-all, a wonderful stay, where we were very well looked after. We have stayed a number of times, and this stay certainly won’t be our last.

This was our second November stay for dinner, bed and breakfast, and we have now added a summer booking for dinner as a birthday treat. We have been Criccieth fans for decades and to have found a place of real comfort, where the windows offer the best view of the Bay from the train tracks behind Dylan’s across to the Castle and the Blue China, the food is of dependably high quality at supper and breakfast, and the service is respectful, fun and friendly, has been a real extra to our love of this part of Wales.

Always feel welcomed on our return visits to this hotel helped by the friendly staff. Dom was there to greet us on arrival and good to see Laura, Amber and Carys. The food was enjoyable as usual with enough selection for even the hardest to please guest at both breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed s relaxing break in an executive room waking up to the sound of the waves and just enjoying the ever changing sea. We’d also booked parking albeit not essential in October.

I would struggle to suggest any improvements at the Caerwylan Hotel. The staff are conscientious, polite, helpful and friendly without being OTT. Our superior room had a wonderful sea, castle and mountain view and we were put in a quiet location as requested. It was clean, spacious with a comfortable bed, and relaxing in a hot bath listening to the waves was the ultimate in relaxation. The restaurant food was exceptional in all respects both at breakfast and dinner with lots of choice. At checkout, our bill was pinpoint accurate. Gutted to leave. Thank you so much for a wonderful 4 nights.

We recently stayed here for 4 nights which is now our 5th time at this hotel. Once again we pre-booked room 16 because of the views of the castle and Criccieth bay. It is a little more expensive than the standard rooms, but the views are worth it. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted in reception by a young lady who was very polite, courteous and very professional. As I said we had pre-booked the rooms which are located on the 1st floor and there is a lift to all floors, albeit a small one. As expected the room was spotlessly clean, with fresh fruit and water both still and sparkling available. There is also a good selection of tea and coffee. The bathroom was spotless and fully equipped with complimentary shampoo and shower gel, and soft fluffy towels which were changed each day if required. Located in the wardrobe were complimentary bath robes. The king size bed was so comfortable, possibly the best I have slept on, so a good night’s sleep was had each night. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order, (I highly recommend the full Welsh), there is also good selection of fresh fruit, juices and yogurts available. We ate in the restaurant each evening, and although the menu was small, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I recommend the fillet steak. There is a bar area with a vast drinks menu, and also draught beers, all served promptly and delivered to your table. This hotel is perfect as a base if you want to go off exploring the local area, or like us if you just want a relaxing stay doing nothing but reading, eating and the occasional walk up the hill and partake in an ice cream from the famous Cadwaladers. The only downside is parking in front of the hotel is limited, but there are spaces available free of charge on the service road which runs in front of the hotel. As I said it is our 5th time at this hotel, and I would like to personally thank Dominic, Amber, Laura and the team for making our stay a great one. See you all again next April.

We enjoyed our four-day stay at the Caerwylan. The view from our front room with the bay window was spectacular, day and night. Our room was comfortable and we enjoyed just hanging out there. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. There are two things that the hotel needs to improve on. Firstly, to give people with coeliac condition a comfortable time, they should mark up the menus with information about gluten and not just rely on the staff to remember. Because their memory proved unreliable. Secondly, and a smaller point, if making a king-sized bed from two singles, the two beds need to be securely attached.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. There is nothing better than waking up to the sound of the waves and a spectacular view! We would like to offer our deepest apologies for the Tikka Skewers you received whilst dining with us. As it is no excuse our manufacturers did change the ingredients for our Skewers which have now been changed on our menu to consume Gluten. We appreciate all feedback from our guests and I will definitely speak to our housekeeping team in regards to your bed. We definitely hope to see you again to show you exactly what the Caerwylan is made of. Kind Regards Michael and Frances
