We're frequent visitors to the Southern Snowdonia area and we're very impressed with the Royal Ship's amazing makeover. When I received an email offering a 2 night stay for £120 we decided to go for it. A former member of staff had made a mess up of the original phone booking which had been lost however the very kind manager... More

If you want a decent place to stay that can offer a good breakfast and some nice pub food then you'll be very happy here! We stopped over for one night, the room was really comfortable and really clean. There is a little car park round the back and they also have somewhere to store your muddy bikes. The restaurant... Stayed at the Royal Ship with friends whilst trying to complete the hard mountain bike route at Coed y Brenin, arrived after a long drive from London, easy to find in the centre of town , bike shop local if needed, bakers handy and local Boots all in walking distance of the hotel. Some local parking at the rear of... More

We took my parents here for a meal recently. Right off the bat, the service was fantastic. My wife has dietary requirements and the staff went out of their way to accommodate her needs. The decor is very classy, clean and comfortable, and the place seemed very popular, which for a rainy Tuesday at 1pm says a lot in itself.... More

Stayed here for a night with a group of 12 away for a walking weekend. This hotel was a perfect choice, friendly staff, bar area lovely with a great choice of beers. Food and restaurant first class and the bedrooms (207, ensuite double) very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed for two nights with my son on a touring holiday of North Wales. The hotel is very attractive and centrally located just off the main square. Inside a lot of money has been spent on a complete refurbishment, but it is all corporate and characterless. It is however spotlessly clean. My main criticism is that by and large... More

We had a pleasant lunch here today in nice surroundings and served by friendly staff. I had a lamb shank and my wife had a salmon steak and our friends had a mixed selection. All the food was very well presented and well cooked. Our deserts were very well done, I would have preferred my fudge cake to have been... More

Stayed here for 3 days as a base for walking locally. Very well appointed (newly refurbished apparently) and bedrooms nice and cosy. Food was of very good quality and freshly cooked served hot. Reasonably priced for both drinks and food and a "full welsh" breakfast to die for. Bacon, eggs, beans, sausage, black pudding and tomato with cereals, fruit etc... More
