We stumbled across Tyddyn Mawr guest house on route to Cader Idris, we were lost so asked for directions. You were so accommodating and friendly we felt the need to comment on here. Thank you for the kindness you showed my family, you didn’t need to be so lovely and yet you were! We hope Brownie the lamb is doing well, and wish you all the good fortune you deserve. We stayed at Tyddyn Mawr Farmhouse B&B for 2 nights. Olwen is an amazing hostess. Upon arrival we were offered tea and cake and we felt like at home. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, cosy, spotlessly clean and with spectacular views of Cader Idris. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Served in cosy dining room/lounge with an impressive fire place. Fresh fruits, smoothie, juice, selection of yoghurts, homemade granola, homemade preserves, cooked breakfast (different every morning), toasts and croissants! B&B has a great location, short drive to Dolgellau with so many pubs/restaurants. We have styed in many different B&Bs but Tyddyn Mawr was the best. We highly recommend it and we will be definitely coming back again! Thank you Olwen for your hospitality. Andrea & Frank

This was our fifth stay at Tyddyn Mawr B&B,and Olwen is the most delightful host. The varied breakfasts were a wonder as usual. The room was spectacular with views of Cader Idris and the foothills. The location is very good for the town of Dolgellau and wider afield. Many thanks again Olwen you and the facilities are the best. Ian and Alison

Olwen is a perfect host. She accommodated an arrival around 1700 and showed us the the immaculately appointed room which stood under the glare of Cadair Idris. A beautiful setting which is a perfect place to launch any local walks. Breakfast was amazing - look out for the homemade museli. An Idyllic setting on a working farm. 10/10, see you again.

This was our fourth stay at Tyddyn Mawr, and once again treated so well by Olwen. The room was fantastic,as were the superb breakfasts. The situation is spectacular nestling in the foothills of Cader Idris. Olwen recommended the Meirionydd restuarant for an evening meal, and what a meal,it had to be best meals we have had, possibly ever. Apologies for our early departure,as the weather (Storm Dennis)was brewing, and thankfully made it home to the Vale of Glamorgan before the floods took hold. Many thanks again Olwen. Ian and Ali.

We had two nights staying at Olwen's bed and breakfast and what a delight it was. The bedroom was spotlessly clean and very roomy with a couple of chairs to sit and enjoy the view. Lovely handmade Welsh oak furnishings help with the timeless, classical feel of the accommodation. Fabulous view down the valley from the French windows which lead onto a small balcony, great sunsets to be had in better weather! The ensuite bathroom with separate shower cubicle was also spotlessly clean and well appointed. Breakfast was taken in the guest lounge/dining room and Olwen brings a wonderful selection of courses, starting with melon/orange, home made granola (delicious!), croissants and homemade preserves, home made smoothies, fruit juice, bacon/sausage/egg/tomatoes followed by toast. The second day we had fresh grapefruit and scrambled eggs/toast with roasted vine tomatoes. Lots of lovely fresh flowers both in the lounge and bedroom. Olwen is very friendly and approachable and has a wealth of knowledge of the local area which she is willing to impart. Would definitely return if we decide to spend more time in the area. A very quiet spot tucked well away from the hustle and bustle of busy life and extremely handy for the Cader Idris range.

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay overnight at Tyddyn Mawr Farmhouse while touring Wales. The farmhouse is in a stunning location in Snowdonia National Park in the shadow of Cadir Idris with sheep grazing in the surrounding fields We stayed in a large room on the second floor, beautifully decorated and immaculate. Amenities included a television, electric kettle, sitting area and a balcony with a view of the mountain. The huge ensuite bathroom had both a shower and tub and was color coordinated with the bedroom. There is a resource area with maps and guide books to help plan activities. Breakfast was served in the dining room on a beautifully set table. It included a home made fruit smoothie, half of a grapefruit, homemade muesli, welsh yogurt, toast with home made jams and a welsh egg dish. Olwen is an excellent hostess and wonderful resource. I wish wewere able to spend more time at Tyddyn Mar. Highly recommend this B &B. Also suggest you book direct for a discounted rate.

A wonderful place to stay in a stunning location. Our beautiful room had French windows that opened out onto a lovely view of Cader Idris. Olwen is an amazing host, producing a five star breakfast every morning. She is also very informative regarding things to do in the area. Would we want to stay here next time we are in Dolgellau? Absolutely!
