We recently stayed in room 7 it was great especially as our family, grandchildren & friends were all camping here too. The room was cosy the bed was the best I have ever slept in. Towels were lovely & fluffy & a lovely bathroom with plenty of hot water. We had to cross a cute stream to get to our room which had a nice little garden. The room was spotlessly clean, lots of tea & coffee etc. We loved it!
Booked this room for one night away in August 2021. There were clear instructions upon arrival and we located our room easily. The room was very clean and had everything we needed, including a small fridge, soft, clean bath towels, hand towels and flannels. The bathroom also had plenty of complimentary soap and shampoo/conditioner. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay and we plan to rebook in summer 2022 for an anniversary trip! Would highly recommend.
I was charged £68 plus £9 (for breakfast 1.5miles down the road). The room was clean, but had a single bed!! I couldn't believe it! There was no parking when i arrived and i could hear people walking past my window all night. Would strongly NOT recommend this rip off place that is not even a B&B. Go else where if i was you. Very disappointed when spending £78.50
A little off the beaten track for Barmouth but a pleasant attractive location out in the countryside. On site parking available, a decent sized room, some are dog friendly. Shower and room were clean and tidy.
Visited here with some friends as we were biking in the area. Its great location for what we needed. The B&B is very quirky and has rooms scattered around which was really good. Our room was very clean and spacious. Beds comfy and a great shower. Loved the fact our room had a mini fridge in there - that was a nice surprise! The benefit of this B&B is that it has a lounge downstairs to allow catch up with friends rather then staying in our rooms. The only downside was lack of breakfast provided but this is due to Covid restrictions at moment so hopefully this will change in the future.
Dolgun Uchaf although in a beautiful, quiet location, was not at all clean. Shower was badly stained (pink) this is other peoples body fats. The carpet was rotten, toilet brush had toilet paper and excrement stuck all over it. The skirting boards, behind radiator and above wardrobe were thick with dust. Towels were not clean and stained. No hand washing soap and 1/4 of a toilet roll left over from previous occupants. WRONG !! On arrival, although making a special request for a dog, which was all on my booking information, reception had no knowledge of it although I had proof. We were subsequently moved from a double room to a twin room in an out building. Not happy !! All in all, a bad experience!! The only good thing I can say about the Dolgun is that the young lady in reception was very friendly and helpful although being rushed off her feet doing too much. Will not be staying again!!…
We spent three nights in room 5. The procedure for arriving had been made clear to us and we did not see any staff, nor did we expect to given the covid situation, more's the pity. The studio flat was spacious, clean, and had everything we required . The bed was king size and very comfortable. As we expected, nobody came in to service the room and we were content to look after ourselves. Good weather had a lot to do with our enjoyment of the room and its location but we would be pleased to stay again.
Dolgun Uchaf is a mixed site of B&B accommodation, camping and caravan site a few miles outside of the nearest town, Dolgellau. A great base for touring the area We had booked a double room for two nights (17/9 & 18/9). The room (Room 7) is adequate, clean and tidy - two comfortable separate beds - and has an excellent shower room / toilet to the side. A couple of down points - 1) the room is entered via patio type doors - if you want privacy you need to pull across the curtains 2) Room ventilation - because of the patio doors, the only ventilation can come from an open window in the shower room/toilet, which means that door has to be open to the bedroom area. If it is hot weather, it could be uncomfortable. 3) On our return from a day out, the room had not been cleaned / tidied - I would have expected that. I was not informed, when booking that the "Breakfast" bit of the "B&B" was not in operation on site. We were issued tokens to redeem at a pub in Dolgellau. Although the food was quite reasonable there, I may have booked elsewhere, had I known I had to drive somewhere else for our breakfast. That aside, if you are camping this site provides very good facilities and the location is very good with good access and close to main roads - there are some nice walks directly form the camp site. The cost of the two nights was £258, which is reasonable value. We took two dogs and the charge is £5 per night per dog.…
Visited for 2 nights. 2 double rooms booked, both clean and serviceable, with comfy beds. Few bits and bobs needed sorting, like lights not working in bathroom. And always useful to have a plug socket near a mirror - just a pet gripe of mine!! Useful cupboard with sink, fridge and cooking facilities if needed. There was plenty tea, coffee provided. Bathroom could’ve done with a spruce up but shower was serviceable. Not a safe walk into town, which was a bit frustrating as advertised as walking distance. But the road doesn’t have a footpath and is quite a big road so we weren’t risking that. We did find a great taxi company though - Cader cabs who we used both evenings. Didn’t realise until I’d booked that the breakfast was off site, but actually was fine and we carried on from there everyday. …
Lovely setting with a nice clean room but was disappointing not to see anyone to welcome us or to check all ok, breakfast was listed as additional when booking but found out that no breakfasts currently served, I understand with current COVID issues changes have to be made but this was not a cheap night’s accommodation. From arriving to leaving we spoke to no one making the stay a little disappointing, pillows not great also, such a shame as with a little bit of effort the stay could have been excellent.
