Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a relatively small campsite in a great location. It is relaxed and friendly with good facilities. Despite being there over the August Bank Holiday when the site was fairly full we didn't have to queue for toilets, showers, etc. Rules around keeping quiet after 11 were enforced, but in a sensitive way that didn't lead to conflict (a noisy group on a pitch near us were persuaded to quieten down without too much drama. Our only criticism was that our pitch was quite small meaning we could only just get our tent on the pitch, however, friends we were camping with had a large pitch, so there is quite a lot of variation.

Stayed for 3 nights on an upowered pitch over the second Aug B/H.
Although the views across the valley to the East and West are to die for, the campsite location is about a mile down a backroad and parallel to the A470 which is the main North-South road up the spine of wales so traffic noise starts quite early in the day and continues till 8ish at night... hence 3 stars
Toilet / shower block is OK although could be cleaner and paid staff (don't think I met the owners) did their absolute best to be helpful to a disorganised camper.
Onsite recycling is a bit of a walk and so mixed up likely to all end up in landfill ... though to be fari that was probably more a reflection on the clientel than the site.
Nearest shop is at the garage on the A 470 which sells the essentials.

We stayed in one of the glamping pods over the Easter weekend and had a really lovely time. The pod itself is really well equipped with lots of kitchen equipment including a cafetière, salt and pepper shakers and saucepans etc. spacious enough for two adults and a 3 year old toddler. Pod also contained an electric heater, hairdryer and lots of plug sockets. All bedding provided but towels were not even though this was stated on the website so unfortunately we had to use our beach towels. Not ideal. The shower and toilet block were close and never had to queue to use them which was perfect due to the busyness of the site. The one ladies shower however was broken and one of the hand wash dispensers contained no hand wash. The site was busy. And I didn’t feel there was much room in between pitches. The caravan next to us was close enough to hear their conversations. The site could have benefitted from larger rubbish disposal as well as clearer recycling procedures. Also due to the busyness an on site shop would have been useful stocking bread, fresh milk, bottled water etc. overall we enjoyed our weekend and would recommend staying here to others.

When we arrived onsite the first impressions were ok and we found our allocated pitch. To our horror the pitch next door to us and behind were also in use, so no social distancing. We were a little concerned by this considering the circumstances.
We pitched the tent and settled down that’s when it all started to go wrong.
One the neighbours kids was walking round the site constantly spitting on the floor Vile not mention covid! Next we had someone’s kid letting the dog foul on our pitch right outside the tent, this really began to annoy us and put a dampener on our break.
We put our chairs outside the tent as the weather is fantastic when a car raced through the site creating a massive dust storm of slate dust covering everyone this was just great!
I’m not asking for much just a nice relaxing break.
Now the site facilities, the review of the site said newly refurbished toilet block!
The toilets and showers were dark and floor was very dirty, there were more people inside than I expected so no social distancing there. They do have what appear to be an overflow shower block that consists of an old rotten shipping container!.
The inside has 2 small showers next to each other and no where to get dressed very bad as children could come in at any time. The outside was rotten with jagged metal that could cause injury. This creates a very bad impression on the site.
As we had a small toilet and shower tent we used that as a member of our group has health issues.
To top it off a member of staff drives round at 7am collecting rubbish bags, I do realise that this has be done but not at 7am on 4x4 noisy all terrain vehicle. This i might add went on most of the day constantly driving round. How are you meant to relax with this all time?????.
On a positive not the scenery is nice just a shame we never got to explore it as we were booked for several nights. The day after we arrived we packed up and found another site, same price and very relaxing and spotless facilities with social distancing all over the site. So mainly due the fact there was no social distancing and the poor facilities I cannot recommend this site.

Everything was absolutely amazing. The tent is so lovely and cosy. The facilities are fantastic from bedding, towels, cutlery, utensils, games and even a complimentary toasting kit for marshmallows and s’mores!! We loved the tent and will definitely choose to stay in a similar tent again (hopefully they live up to Torrent Walk!) Evalina is also lovely, kept us up to date, informed and is super friendly and welcoming.

The facilities at the camp site are also great. Views lovely, everyone very considerate and such a tranquil setting. Very clean toilets and clean, spacious showers.

The location is great and within walking distance to pubs at Dolgellau and a short drive to other lovely towns and Cadair Idris mountain.

Stayed 2 nights in one of the Glamping Pods with my wife and 2 dogs. Absolutely loved it as it was our first experience in a pod. Surprisingly spacious and well thought out. Very well equipped with mini fridge, sink, cooker, kettle and toaster. All the bedding and towels provided.
Sofa bed was an ideal size and easy to turn into a small double bed, and was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep.
Plenty of power sockets, hot and cold running water.
Logs on sale at the reception for the provided fire pit and were priced very reasonably.
We were there in September and the Pod was warm enough at night and felt comfortable.
Camp site was lovely and clean, toilet and shower block was all well kept.

The site was lovely and quiet at night. Would of loved to have had more time to stay longer.

Had a lovely peaceful break at this campsite in their large safari tent . The tent had all you need and was very clean and welcoming with lots of facilities and homely/boutique feel. The view from the tent over the mountains was stunning and a joy to wake up to also with a lovely hot tub as a bonus to soak away tired bodies from the days walking.
Very well maintained site at an ideal location for Barmouth and Dolgellau and would recommend this site especially the glamping safari tents as a great base to explore our wonderful Wales.

The campsite is very well kept and the communal areas are very clean and tidy, the staff diligently clean up after messy guests. They are very helpful and approachable. They enforce the rules very well to ensure everyone gets a good quiet nights sleep. The only downside was the wifi was not working for a day or so during our stay.

We arrived and our pitch was located on the ledges which were terraced pitches above the main campsite. We had amazing views down the valley with the sun setting over the trees in front. The pitch was tidy and flat. Parking was a bit hairy as the incline was very steep but once you got the knack it wasn't an issue. The site was quiet after about 10pm and noise wasn't an issue.

The toilet and shower block was more often than not very clean, although at busy times it got a bit messy. The showers were reliably hot although I wish there were more of them as at busy times you could be waiting a while for a shower. There are fridges and a freezer which was useful. The fire pit rental was a great option too.

Overall it's a beautiful setting which is well connected to the main road with loads to do in the surrounding area. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic campsite. Very well kept clean and tidy. Toilets and showers were very clean. Plenty of space on all the pitches . Children are allowed to be children and play which is good and pets are welcome too another bonus. We were on the top field looking over the site so the views from our tent were amazing.
