This is a quiet site, with 3 main areas for camping all on a slight slope, but on well kept grounds with gorgeous surroundings.
There is one toilet block with 2 toilets and 2 showers which were always very clean and well stocked. My only complaint was needing a ‘friend’ told hold down the tap whilst I washed my hands!
The welcome was warm and friendly and came with invaluable advice for a local Indian takeaway which was promptly ordered and I could recommend. Ask reception for a menu!
There is a pub a short walk down the hill and a Co-op a little further up the road. Llanberris and the mountain railway is 10 minutes drive so this is a very handy site for Snowdon.

Just had a 2 night stay here. Lovely welcome but Nathan. Free range eggs, honey and jams for sale in the reception hut. The cleanliness of this site is impeccable. Honestly one of the cleanest sites we have been on. Toilet and shower block always smell lovely and every time we went to toilets they had just been cleaned, mopped and disinfected. Hairdryer in the ladies shower block. The pitches are very well draining. It rained constantly one day and the grass took it and drained brilliantly, no muddy awninngs here 👍🏻
Fire pits allowed. Dog friendly. Quite site. 2 pubs down the lane, we didnt eat in there but the food looked good and all the tables were reserved so you possibly need to book. Shop down the road within walking distance. Great location. Great site. Sites like this need all the recognition they can get. We will definitely be returning.

At last, hot showers! We have been travelling in a motorhome for the past 3 weeks and this was only the second time we found really hot showers where we could adjust the temperature - hallelujah! The camp itself is good and even though it is grassed the grass is kept short so you don’t have to traipse through long wet grass to get anywhere. The shower/toilet block is small but very clean and tidy and there is a laundry (which is a bit expensive). Nathan was very helpful and welcoming and showed us to our pitch making sure we had a spot sheltered from the wind which was great as it howled during the night. Definitely recommend if you want to go to Caernarfon.

This campsite is fantastic.
We were on pitch 11 and 12, both massive and flat. We had quite a lot of rain while we were away and the grass did not get water logged at all, obviously, the drainage is good. There was a water tap and electric socket behind our tents.
The toilets were always clean and had a lovely smell. You do not need to keep pressing the button for the shower to work and there is a small stool and hanging hooks for your clothes/towels etc.
The recycling facility was the best we have ever seen. Well signed and close to all tents.
They have a dog field at the back, my dog loved running around there.
There is a Spar and CO-OP nearby and a pub in walking distance.
This campsite is perfect for exploring.
I would definitely recommend this site, small family run site with great facilities.

What an absolutely gem of a place.
Staff are so friendly & helpful. Offering advice.
The campsite is spotless & well cared for. There are a few separate fields which make it seem more ‘homely’ rather than one huge area.
The pitches are on well drained grass which is lovely to see rather than the concrete & hardcore which so many campsites are veering towards but makes it feel you are parking in a car park.
The pitches are not regimented & give plenty of space. All the pitches are around the edge of the fields giving space in the middle.
During our stay there were a mixture of tents, caravans & motorhomes & couples, families & family groups.
Location is perfect for the Snowdonia area.
I would highly recommend Llys Derwen & we will definitely be back.

First time camping at Llys Derwen and it was perfect, lovely soft flat ground and the location is ideal for anyone who is thinking of conquering Mount Snowden as there is a bus stop at the end of the road (10 min walk) along with a pub which serves great food and is so reasonably priced.
Tesco was a 15 min drive away for all your essentials.
The showers were amazing and spotlessly clean as was the rest of the site.
Nathan the host is a perfect hard working Gentleman and nothing was too much trouble for him.
We will definitely be returning.

Small family run campsite. Nathan could not do enough for you and reception hut is central and accessible.Spotless facilities, lashings of hot water with no timers in the shower. Well located, and on the S1 and S3 Sherpa routes, so we didn't have to fight for parking in Llanberris on a bank holiday, and could use two different t tracks for the ascent and descent of Snowdon. Can't recommend highly enough

My first time to Wales and this campsite seriously was amazing. Wales is one hell of a beautiful place, and arriving at 11.30pm, not knowing what I was going to wake up to, was beautiful when daylight hit.
The site itself, beautifully looked after, well maintained, and facilities was immaculate. Every time we walked or drive past a washroom or shower room, there was always a member of staff cleaning. I, for one, will have no doubt about returning here, so Emrys and family, thank you so much for your hospitality, your site will be highly recommended. See you again soon.

Chris & Kimberley.

A peaceful well maintained and run site with friendly knowledgeable staff which we stayed in for 2 nights in Sept 24

The pitch sizes are generous and rustling up a fire pit was no trouble at all

The shower and toilet block are immaculately clean, were washed regularly and the shower was fabulous after a day of walking locally.

Highly recommend and will definitely be back

This campsite is lovely, family friendly. Shower and toilets always clean. Showers very warm. Great location if your visiting snowdonia Mountain, 10 mins drive (3 miles). Easy to find.
We went to zip world aswell. 20 mins drive.
There is a few pubs in walking distance, bakery across the road that an old guy has been making pastys, sausage rolls etc for over 60 years, they were lovely and at £1.50 for a pasty you cannot go wrong.

Emrys was the nicest owner and came round to see what we have been up to in the day. Lovely guy and definitely recommend this site.
Pitch sizes are very good.

Views around are amazing, also.

If i was to say what this site needed was only more toilets and showers, but to be honest the site is a small one so we were not waiting that much to use them.
