This campsite is lovely, family friendly. Shower and toilets always clean. Showers very warm. Great location if your visiting snowdonia Mountain, 10 mins drive (3 miles). Easy to find.
We went to zip world aswell. 20 mins drive.
There is a few pubs in walking distance, bakery across the road that an old guy has been making pastys, sausage rolls etc for over 60 years, they were lovely and at £1.50 for a pasty you cannot go wrong.

Emrys was the nicest owner and came round to see what we have been up to in the day. Lovely guy and definitely recommend this site.
Pitch sizes are very good.

Views around are amazing, also.

If i was to say what this site needed was only more toilets and showers, but to be honest the site is a small one so we were not waiting that much to use them.

Thanks Kelly for your kind words. Glad everything went to plan and that you enjoyed the local scenery and all its attractions. We had a very busy Bank Holiday and I'm glad that you didn't have to wait too long to use the facilities. Hope to see you again if ever you are in this area again.

What a Gem of a site. Found this site on a spur of the moment trip for my son to participate in some outdoor adventures. The site is ideally located, beautifully kept and the owner Emrys was very friendly and happy to share knowledge on the surrounding area and recommend a great walk, which kept me busy for the day. I can not comment on the facilities due to them being closed in line with covid regulations.  But what was visible was immaculate. Highly recommend this beautiful site, felt safe being a solo traveller there for 2 nights. Would love to return in the near future.

Thanks Lucy for submitting a lovely review. Glad you enjoyed the walk over to Llanberis on the old mountain road and then returning along the shores of Llyn Padarn - always a big hit with people who have a few hours to spare and to enjoy the spectacular views. Lets hope we'll meet again when all the Covid restrictions will have been lifted.

Booked in for four nights from Monday to Friday. First impression of the site was how well kept and tidy it was. We had been told our pitch was number 12 so we were soon settled on that and enjoying a G&T and having a very relaxing time at this lovely site.
Met Emrys the owner later that evening when he knocked on the caravan door to introduce himself and confirm our details. Some people when you meet them for the first time are instantly likeable and Emrys is one of those.
You can tell straight away that he has a sense of humour and great character.
During our stay we had daily conversations with him and he was always interested to know what we had been up to and where we had been. He even gave us a lift to the bus stop to catch the bus to Caernarfon.
His dedication to ensuring his customers enjoy their stay is reflected in the high standards of his site.
Thank you Emrys for going above and beyond.
All the Best from Dan & Jan Kelly.

My first time to Wales and this campsite seriously was amazing. Wales is one hell of a beautiful place, and arriving at 11.30pm, not knowing what I was going to wake up to, was beautiful when daylight hit.
The site itself, beautifully looked after, well maintained, and facilities was immaculate. Every time we walked or drive past a washroom or shower room, there was always a member of staff cleaning. I, for one, will have no doubt about returning here, so Emrys and family, thank you so much for your hospitality, your site will be highly recommended. See you again soon.

Chris & Kimberley.

This was our second stay at this great little campsite in beautiful Snowdonia. The site is clean and well maintained by Emrys who always provides a warm welcome. Covid measures were excellent with signs on all community areas (toilets, showers, dishwashing etc). This year we had our four month old puppy with us but I needn’t have worried as the other campers and their dogs were very friendly. There is a big, secure field for exercising dogs which Deri thoroughly enjoyed, running around off-lead for the first time outside of our own garden. We can’t recommend this campsite highly enough. We will definitely be back next year.

Small family run campsite. Nathan could not do enough for you and reception hut is central and accessible.Spotless facilities, lashings of hot water with no timers in the shower. Well located, and on the S1 and S3 Sherpa routes, so we didn't have to fight for parking in Llanberris on a bank holiday, and could use two different t tracks for the ascent and descent of Snowdon. Can't recommend highly enough

At last, hot showers! We have been travelling in a motorhome for the past 3 weeks and this was only the second time we found really hot showers where we could adjust the temperature - hallelujah! The camp itself is good and even though it is grassed the grass is kept short so you don’t have to traipse through long wet grass to get anywhere. The shower/toilet block is small but very clean and tidy and there is a laundry (which is a bit expensive). Nathan was very helpful and welcoming and showed us to our pitch making sure we had a spot sheltered from the wind which was great as it howled during the night. Definitely recommend if you want to go to Caernarfon.

This campsite is fantastic.
We were on pitch 11 and 12, both massive and flat. We had quite a lot of rain while we were away and the grass did not get water logged at all, obviously, the drainage is good. There was a water tap and electric socket behind our tents.
The toilets were always clean and had a lovely smell. You do not need to keep pressing the button for the shower to work and there is a small stool and hanging hooks for your clothes/towels etc.
The recycling facility was the best we have ever seen. Well signed and close to all tents.
They have a dog field at the back, my dog loved running around there.
There is a Spar and CO-OP nearby and a pub in walking distance.
This campsite is perfect for exploring.
I would definitely recommend this site, small family run site with great facilities.

We have been camping for nearly 30 years now and can truly say that Llys Derwen is our number one camp site on a long list of super places we've had the pleasure to ever visit.
Llys Derwen is central to so many magical attractions within a short distance of traveling time. Whether you want to walk, climb mountains, kayak lakes or sit on a nice beach, they are all here or about.
We like to walk, so with Emrys' knowledge and hand drawn maps, we've had many interesting treks to places you would normally drive to.
This family run caravan and tent site is perfect, with spotless facilities, 3 well kept camping fields and a separate dog exercise field. The showers are hot and powerful, the toilets and sinks excellent, all cleaned regularly.
We've got to mention Emrys (owner), who works so hard to keep the site in top condition. He is a very kind and lovely man who makes everyone on the site feel very welcome. Looking forward to returning and having our next chat.
We can highly recommend Llys Derwen Caravan and Tent Site to anyone and say come and enjoy a truly fantastic experience in one of the most stunning parts of the world.
Thank you very much.

Stayed here for a week in the summer holidays with family. Pitches are allocated so there's no fighting for space, and we had a clean water tap right behind our tent. Emrys was there to greet us (I don't think he ever takes time off!) and was lovely and friendly.

There are 2x showers and 2x toilets in the ladies, both extremely clean. There is also a separate disabled toilet, but sadly this had no soap of any kind for 6 of our 7 days, and no paper towels/dryer. Hence my 4* rating.

The dog exercise field was occasionally occupied with tents, so we didn't feel comfortable letting our dog off, but she got plenty of exercise on the beach & mountains etc.

There was mention of a bakery opposite but on the two occasions we tried it was closed.

The site itself has beautiful views, including Snowdon, and is brilliantly located.

Would definitely return.

Thank you for your review and glad that you enjoyed your time here with us. Sorry for the oversight of not having soap in the Disabled toilet and the reason for not supplying blue C fold paper towels in the dispenser is that I've had no end of trouble with people throwing them down the toilet and causing blockages. Hope to see you again some other time
