We really enjoyed our stay at Seiont Manor. Our room was spacious, with a balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. The hotel is a little older, which gives it a very homely feel. The only major negative was the lack of towels - room seemed to have been set for a single person. I know this could easily have been rectified, however, we were simply too exhausted to bother. The staff (from reception to restaurant), were tip-top.

Booked this hotel with laterooms.com on the morning of our stay and got a great deal on a Twin Room.

Having read the previous reviews I was a little apprehensive especially as the stay was a last minute treat for my Mum and I prior to an appointment in nearby Caernarfon. We were not disappointed at all, only sorry our trip couldn't lend itself to a longer stay on this occasion. The rate we got was not much more than what we would have paid for a basic B&B.

From the greeting at the front desk, help with bags to our room, service from the team in the restaurant to the friendliness of the housekeeping staff when we passed along the corridor on our way along the corridor in the morning the whole feel to our stay was a very positive and amiable one.

Our twin room was beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and very spacious. The windows overlook a babbling brook that winds along the back of house service road which lent itself to peace and quiet. We arrived in the dark so were pleasantly suprised by the beautiful surroundings of the countryside that greeted us on our way around the hotel in the morning.
We ate in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival. The food is a la carte style. For the standard of hotel I felt £29 was reasonable for a freshly prepared three course meal, though I was a little disappointed at the charge of just over £4 for a large bottle of sparkling water. The wine list is extensive and has a broad range of prices to suit every pocket. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous with plenty of choice ranging from the fruit, cereal, yoghurt, juice and pastries on the self-serve table to a choice of full-cooked or lighter bite hot breakfast dishes. We were there on B&B basis, however at £12.50, this is one of the cheapest and best value for m oney breakfasts I have seen. At normal rates this hotel is at the higher end budget rate however I have stayed in more expensive hotels in the city and not encountered anywhere near the standards or service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

We stayed for just one night at the Seiont Manor while visiting Snowdon. The hotel itself is set in beautiful surroundings and is very peaceful, its a short drive away from Mount Snowdon and the mountain railway, so its ideally situated if visiting this part of Wales.

Upon arrival we were greeted by two female reception staff, one being much more helpful than the other. We were given the keys to our room and directed to where it was.

I was pleasantly suprised at the size of the bedroom, we had booked a standard room, but it was really large, with a king size bed, separate area with a coffee table and chairs and big wardrobes. We were situated on the upper floor and the room had a balcony overlooking the garden. The ground floor rooms have french doors opening to a patio area with outside table and chairs.

The bathroom was a good size and had bathrobes and toiletries.

We dined in the restaurant that evening. Prior to our meal, we had a drink in the lounge. The lounge has big comfortable sofas and coffee tables and lots of books in shelves around the room. It did feel a bit cold in atmosphere and as the hotel did not appear to be very full, this made it feel somewhat worse. However, the restaurant itself is very nice and bright in colour. The meal was very good and staff helpful and efficient.

We took breakfast the following morning, again this was fine and consisted of the usual cold and hot items.

Overall, this is a very nice hotel. If you are looking to get away from it all, then this is the place to visit.

Just be aware they don't seem to mind cancelling your booking just 3 days before you are about to visit. No courtesy call to explain just a brief email. Therefore I can't tell you whether it is a good hotel or not.....

A wedding is regarded as one of the most important days in peoples' lives and is invariably very expensive. Last weekend we attended a wedding and the reception was held at the Seiont Manor Hotel. The day went very well until we sat down to eat. The soup was cold and watered down and had no flavour. However, the bread rolls accompanying the soup were delicious. The main course was atrocious and unedible. The beef was of poor quality and far too rare. The vegetables were cold and the cauliflower was raw. The roast potatoes were burnt. It was the worst main course we have ever experienced in any establishment. Fortunately the only saving grace was the sticky toffee pudding. There appeared to be insufficient staff serving the meal and this may well have contributed to the low temperature of the food. In the evening the hotel had been advised of the number of attendees but failed to provide sufficient food and very many people went hungry. The bar service was slow and they ran out of lemonade. At one time they also ran out of change at the bar and would only accept the exact amount of money for any purchase. The Bride and her parents were deeply distressed and it was so sad to see her day spoiled by extremely poor fare.

At £130 per night you would expect something better. Let's look at the good first (as it will take much less time). It was in easy reach of Caernafon and Snowdon National Park. The staff were friendly. That's it. So on arrival it appears that if you book through Booking.com you may be second class as that is the excuse for why we (a) got a double room when we ordered a twin and (b) we got a disabled room straight off reception. Once they split the bed we were able unpack (having had to spend 30 minutes in the bar). It was a very hot day but there are no windows that would open, only the patio doors. Fine but at night what do we do, boil or invite a selection of woodland creatures in by keeping the patio doors open? I had visions of waking up like Snow White with foxes, squirrels and birds everywhere. There was no air conditioning. We boiled overnight. As a disabled room, the tea and coffee facilities were in a cupboard on a shelf about 5 feet from the floor. Not sure how a wheelchair person could get a cup of tea. Oh there were only 4 sachets of milk so don't have more than 2 cups by the way. The safe was locked open and housekeeping had no idea how to reset it. Safety was now becoming an issue. The phone signal was non-existent but at least the wifi was free. The only problem was this failed on the next morning so all contact with the outside world was lost until three feet outside the hotel grounds on the way home. The pool was OK. There are no signs to the changing rooms and after some exploring, we found them having walked down a spiral staircase, through the pool room to an unmarked door at the other end. The interior is shabby with crumbing brick and paintwork. The only beers on offer were Czech or Guinness. Breakfast wasn't too bad actually. It was hot and plenty. So, way too many problems to justify the cost. We probably won't go back on this basis and maybe actually staying in Caernafon would have been better.

My daughter and I have been swimming at Seiont Manor for over a year as part of a baby swimming club. At first everything was fine. We'd stay behind after the class to have coffe and sometimes lunch to chat with friends. After a while the service became strained and has been gradually getting worse over the months. We have had to wait for long periods of time after ordering, just for a coffee, to find it cold when it arrived. There is rarely a staff member in sight, despite this being a regular meet. Things finally came to a head a week or so ago when our instructor was told that our swimming classes had to stop. We have not even been given time to finish the course we are halfway through. Our instructor has had to find a pool elsewhere, despite providing the course for 4 years. As regular customers of Seiont Manor, I am appalled at this treatment and certainly won't be recommending it to friends and family who come to visit.

Response from Martin E, General Manager at Seiont Manor Hotel
Responded 21 Oct 2014
Seiont Manor Hotel received feedback from guests and members who could not use the facilities three mornings a week and from hotel guests who again could not use the facilities they had booked and paid for. As a result of this feedback, the decision was taken to give the class organiser sufficient time, 6-weeks’ notice, to source a suitable alternative venue.

We arrived in reception at 9.45. Myself, my husband and our two boys 3 and 1. It was £24 for us to swim (£8 for adults and £4 for children) which I thought was quite steep. After changing my husband came out and said the showers were cold in the men’s changing room. The women’s were fine. On entering the pool both of us remarked that the water was cold, and after 5mins or so it didn’t get any better. I buzzed reception and they said maintenance would check the temperature. “It was 29.4 this morning, it’s supposed to be 30” he said. “But it’s probably because the room is so cold that it feels worse”.
I asked if he could do anything to help and he turned the pool temp up to 30 but it would probably take hours to make a difference. At this point, our children’s lips were turning blue and they were shivering so we came out. At this point more people arrived and were complaining that it was cold.
I told reception and although the lady was a little apologetic, she didn’t offer any kind of refund so I asked to speak to the manager. The only thing I got was a very rude, unapologetic man claiming that was the temperature of the pool and if it wasn’t good enough- tough. I was completely gobsmacked.
£24 for blue lips, shivering and extreme rudeness.

We won’t be returning.

Ive stayed here many times over the years. The hotel has changed hands recently, and to be honest it does feel much cosier and looks better then ever before. However, the MAJOR downside is the swimming pool, and sauna area. From 4.30-7.30 almost everyday apparently , there are swimming lessons for children, no chance in the pool what so ever. The parents are all crowded around watching aswell, on both sides of the pool. very awkward! On the 2nd day of my stay, it was a little quieter, parents just on one side this time :/ i began to try and swim a length, but the instructor was going side to side with a pupil, just to be awkward so just went to my room. Having spoken to locals , its a common occurrence now. Also had two young girls come into the sauna, counldnt have been older then 14, were just messing around the whole time. Gym is ok, but could do with an improvement. I pick this hotel because of the location to the A55 and pool/sauna to relax. Spoke to a guy called Ricci upon check out, he literally couldn't give two hoots.
I stay at the celtic royal in caernarfon now, has a sauna, steam room and much better gym.

Response from Rowena W, Manager at Seiont Manor Hotel
Responded 18 Jul 2017
Thank you for taking the time to review the Seiont Manor Hotel. We see every comment as a way to reinforce good practice or an improvement opportunity. I am sorry that you were inconvenienced during your stay. The private swimming lessons which have been on trial for 9 months take up half of the pool for around 4 students plus instructor, starting at 4.30, finishing at 6.30pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The lessons should never obstruct other guests. These swimming lesson trials will finish next month and will not be continuing. Children under 16 years are not allowed to use the pool unaccompanied by an adult especially in the sauna and this will be addressed with Duty Managers and Reception if our policies are not being followed properly. The Leisure Facilities at Seiont Manor are extremely popular but most of the time Residents and the public see it as a quiet retreat !! It is a shame that you experienced one of the rare busy times. It maybe helpful to contact us when you would like to use the facilities again to put your mind at ease. Rikki has taken on board your feedback but please note that he has been the one most concerned about the swimming lessons and requested that they not continue because of the comments made to him. RRL Group who now own the Seiont Manor have ambitious plans to refurbish the whole property including the Leisure Facilities, so please watch out for our news and promotions so you can return as its easier for you location-wise. I look forward to welcoming you again after next month hopefully. Kind Regards The team at Seiont Manor Hotel

This is where they made "Faulty Towers" im sure of it!

The most horendous (and expensive) hotel outside London ive visited in the UK.

A "standard" room is around £200 rack rate and should be £40 based on the standards (and I was "unlucky enough to book a suite which was just a larger room, not a seperate living area)

Its one of those hotels where the same person serves room service, books you in, cleans the room etc but they try so hard to be an exclusive manor.

Cut your prices in half, stop charging £9.50 for a steak baguette (plus a £2.50 "tray charge") and supply towels at the pool, get a porter (so you dont carry your own cases down the long halls) and fix the changing room showers for a start.

Add onto that just 6 TV channels, a bathroom from 1970 and a bed that has already been used a thousand nights (dont go there!), welcome to the Manor!!!

Snowdon is an amazing place, they could do so much more but fail on every count. It comes accross as pure greed.

Good afternoon! The breakfast offers full continental buffet including cheese and cold meats, pastries. There is quite a choice of cooked breakfasts too ...and porridge of course! Vegetarian/vegan and special diets are catered for. If you could advise us of any diets on booking to assist Chef please. Some rooms do have have robes but we no longer offer slippers and facecloths. Reservations will help you choose a room according to your preferences. I hope that helps and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Seiont Manor.
