Friendliest welcome you could hope for, Neil and Keiron welcomed the two of us and dog like we were old friends - especially dog which was great. The pub was cosy with its log fire, great ales and friendly locals. The breakfast was really good. Overall experience especially at the price was very good, only one proviso was that a more thorough...

Go to Monmouth 4 times a year, used to stay at Ye Old Ferrie Inn but too cold. This is a very old pub, 1579?? Good for Jazz. Beer was good, room excellent and breakfast even better. Very reasonable, friendly and room all good. Good for access to Main Street.

Stayed on a Saturday night. First impression was "oh dear" but soon changed to "lovely stay" Neil the manager was very welcoming and pleased to engage and talk about the history of the building. From our nightcap... or two in the bar, to our beautifully cooked breakfast, we had a lovely comfortable stay. It's an old building so it will...

We had a lovely time here. The beds were so comfortable and our room was at the top in a quirky little attic space. My kids thought it was a great adventure! The building is hundreds of years old and we were told all about it by Keiron who greeted us and showed us to our room. We had an...

The building I would think is 300 possibly 400 years old and obviously a listed building, the bar area is quite large, they do have live music occasionally, the bar staff are very efficient, table's cleared and glasses washed immediately, The landlord /owner is a great character and the bar Manager is a very friendly very efficient person. The bedrooms...

I give credit to Neil, the owner, for maintaining this pub as an occasional live music venue. He is also friendly and helpful. The bedrooms and common areas are of the 'no frills' variety, lacking the personal touch but reasonably clean and tidy. Breakfast, however, was very disappointing both in its presentation and the low quality of the ingredients. What...

The Queens Head is what you would expect for a building of its age. Very beautiful around the edges. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly prepared. The ceiling in the bar is stunning. Close to town, easy walk. Butty Bach ale was lovely. Overall lovely, relaxing stay.

I was taking part in a race in nearby Usk with a group of friends and we needed somewhere cheap and comfortable for 1 night - The Queen's Head was just the job, pretty much perfect for our needs. Neil, the owner was very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much bother.

Me and my son stayed here overnight en route to an open day at Cardiff University. Was a bit dubious on seeing building for the first time but was met by the owner Neil who was an excellent host. The building is looking a bit tired but what do you expect for a building over 400yr old. Its certainly got...
