Caer Llan is a beautiful old country house set high in the hills with spectacular, far-reaching views across the open countryside of the Vale of Usk. Established in 1969, we are a thriving family run business that takes great pride in the warmth of our hospitality, our friendly staff and our attention to detail. We specialise in group functions with exclusive use of the property such as weddings, family reunioms, house parties and business events.

Caer Llan is an old stone house but is very comfortable with good wifi. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The view from the hotel is magnificent. The food was very good. They were able to provided good packed lunches and as a diabetic had suitable sweets with my evening meal. They were very Covid aware and as the weather was so good we were able to take many meals outside, in the fresh air, on the terrace. All the staff were helpful. It was one of the best breaks I have ever had.

Today we visited Caer Llan for lunch and we were blown away by Vicky and Jake's kindness. The visit was primarily for my nan who was desperate to have a look around as we have chosen Caer Llan as our wedding venue. Unfortunately our wedding was supposed to be last week and we have had to rearrange to next August. Being aware of this, Vicky and Jake arranged for us to have our lunch outside on the patio but the weather was horrendous so they set us up a private table in the library with no problems at all. Vicki and Jake also knew that we were there to show my nan around so they let us have a walk around the venue, even propping doors open for us so we didn't have to touch anything! Both Vicky and Jake took the time to chat to us and introduce themselves to our family. On top of all this, the food was absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are counting down the days until we can marry in this special place!

Wow, what a perfect location, and a very friendly warm welcome from everyone. The staff are all so helpful, without being intrusive, nothing is too much trouble. The tables are nicely spaced out and you can't help but stare out at the stunning views and landscape. It was such a beautiful day when we visited too, its was perfect. We are so looking forward to having our son & future daughter-in-law wedding here. The food: incredible, so tasty and love the different choice of veg that was served, really good. Dessert, we had the Panacotta, with the poached pear... divine. Excellent food. Great hosts and staff, beautiful location. Cant wait to return, and it will definitely be before August 2021!

Despite living in the same County, I had never heard of Caer Llan. Situated on the hillside above Monmouth with quite spectacular views, this is a real gem. Licences for weddings, the venue is simply superb, oozing with character and quality. The staff were exceptionally supportive, nothing was a trouble and they were all, without exception, genuinely interested in you and keen to ensure your stay was perfect in every regard. Special mention for the food, plentiful and of very high quality. The 16 well appointed bedrooms allowed family members and friends to stay for the wedding we attended. Literally, THE perfect wedding venue.

The venue is surrounded by the beautiful Welsh countryside, the views are stunning. The hosts made us very welcome, our room was very comfortable (so quiet, we slept very well) and the food was delicious! The hog roast was beautifully cooked and breakfast was amazing. Everything was COVID safe (staff wore masks all the time, there was sanitiser everywhere). Perfect wedding venue, highly recommended!

After searching and looking at a number of wedding venues locally we settled upon Caer Llan. We weren’t disappointed! From the moment we booked we had a feeling it was going to be something special. All our interactions in the planning were really personalised. Jake, Vicky and Kathryn are genuinely some of the nicest people we’ve met and the effort they put into making our wedding special and unique to us was unparalleled. All our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was, the food was delicious and plentiful. It really was everything we could have hoped for. We felt the venue was superb value for money and we would have no hesitations in recommending it to others. Thank you once again for such a memorable day. THE perfect venue! Stop scrolling- you don't need to look at anything else. My husband and I searched for hours online to find a venue that suited our wedding and then we came across Caer Llan. Caer Llan was the only place that we went to go and see and it was even more amazing and inviting than we saw on photos. Stunning views, not too big/not too small venue, the most accommodating and friendly hosts and owners that we could ask for and hard working staff too. We didn'tended to go anywhere else, it felt right. why look further when you have found something as unique as caer Llan? 2 months on from the wedding, we are still getting so many compliments about our wedding day. The biggest compliment was about how delicious the food was and how much of it there was! I was so full from our wedding breakfast, I could hardly eat our bbq meal for the evening but i did manage to try a bit. Well done to Richard and the team. There is a good sized menu to choose from. The view is beautiful for a photo backdrop and you get amazing sunsets up there! Our photographer commented òn how the view looked like we were in Italy with the set up of everything. Vicky and Jake were so helpful from the very beginning, we didn't feel pressured into anything and they were open about costs and answering questions from the very beginning. They suggested ideas to us but also listened to what we would like, i:e: a different table layout to how they would normally do it. Throughout the wedding planning, I stayed so calm and didn't stress at all. This was down to vicky's detailed planning and back up plans for if it rains. I felt so calm on the day too, everything was taken care of. The rest of the team kept the food coming smoothly and the drinks flowing all night. We didn't have a huge wedding, only 28 guests in the day and 55 in the evening. The venue made it feel like it was made for the size of our guest list perfectly. There are so many areas for guests to spread out and char with one another. We just wanted to say a huge thank you and for making our day so memorable for the right reasons! Can't wait for another excuse to come back to Caer Llan!

Another fabulous stay at Caer Llan. Jake and Vicky and their extended family of daughters and staff made us so welcome, gave us space to relax but made sure me and 30 friends had all we needed. Fresh coffee for the early birds, delicious food with no trimmings spared (chopped herbs and chilli dressing!!!!), views to die for and beds to sink into. Thank you so much. See you next year. A stunning location with far reaching views of the Monmouthshire countryside. We dined on the terrace. First class service . Excellent food of the highest standard and well presented. My wife and I got married June 2023 and it sounds cliche but we honestly had the best time of our lives at Caer Llan, it offers a whole experience that is truly special. The hosts were very attentive without being imposing, always on hand if we needed them and looked after our guests as well as us - everyone was made to feel a friend. From booking to the day after the wedding, we were in the safest of hands.
Months on, our friends still say the wedding was the best they had been to because of the atmosphere and the stunning views. They said it felt like a summer party abroad! The venue just made everyone relax and have fun.
We were fortunate enough to have our ceremony, drinks and wedding breakfast outside and that added another stunning element to the day. The venue is beautiful as are the grounds, and walking around them with our photographer was another highlight.
We would return in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises, because the rooms and food are also really, really good. My friends are keen for us all to return for a party!
When you're at Caer Llan for your wedding, you feel that exclusivity and that you are somewhere really special, away in nature with your nearest and dearest, well fed and comfortable, and for a reasonable price - what more could you ask for.

Dear Judy
Sorry it's taken a couple of days to get back to you, we have had a busy wedding in! We have 15 rooms in total, one single, two doubles and the rest are all versatile family rooms.
Dawn and Nathan are allocating the rooms and so they will have given you family rooms. We don't get the room list until two weeks before the wedding but I'm sure they would reassure you if you contacted them directly.
