Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Richard is the warmest friendliest host we have ever met! We were only staying one night in The Granary whilst passing through this beautiful area of Wales but Richard went out of his way to be welcoming and helpful. We had a look at the new log cabin which he is building which already looks great and a tour of the Woolly Wagon which is beautiful.
The walks from the farm are brilliant, really dog-friendly and lots of varied terrain. I recommend a walk around Abergwynant Woods.
The Granary was brilliant, lots of space and a well- equipped kitchen. The tiled entrance area/conservatory was great for the dogs and they enjoyed the enclosed garden too. Bonnie the Highland Cow came to say hello! Loved the environmental ethos, including the baavet natural wool duvets and use of Bio-D products.
Our only regret is that we weren't staying longer, next time we will!

Amazing rural location near to to river, woodlands, estuary, stunning beaches and mountains.
The farm offers various types of accommodation, so there’s something for everyone. The properties are dated in furniture and fittings but this is rather quaint and feels like you’ve gone back in time. No contemporary designs here but each property offers everything you need for a relaxing, stress free holiday. There is also a campsite.
The grounds have sheep and horses in. We were lucky to see a new foal.
A short walk to the beautiful river which winds through the woodland. Here you can fish or just sit and listen to nothing but nature. At the end of the woodland is the estuary, with a shingle walkway offering stunning views.
The beaches which stretch on for miles are only a ten minute drive away.
The family that own the properties are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble.
They now have fibre broadband and some properties are being updated in the near future.
Can’t wait to return.

A beautiful cottage on the river. We loved the location a quick drive from the main town with with shops, restaurants and takeaways.

The cottage is on a lovely farm with a few other cottages. There are some lovely walks from the cottage through the woodland area.

The cottage itself is cozy and has most things you would need. The internet is very good and they have a smart TV so could access our Netflix, Amazon prime etc to relax.

It is in lovely and quiet area and you can collect fresh eggs from an honest box which were delicious.

Would gladly go back and have already recommended to others.

Only one small suggestions, a sieve for the kitchen for pasta/rice etc everything else was there ready. Couple of cobwebs in the corners but that’s me being picky!

A brilliant base for exploring this part of wales - be that Cadair Idris, Fairbourne, Barmouth and the Mawddach Estuary.

Abergwynant farm is approached of the main road along an idyllic track through woodland following a babbling brook. Once you cross over the bridge you reach the farm and accomodation. There are a number of holiday cottages and a reception area.

We stayed in the 'Woolly Wagon' shepherds hut. The woolly wagon is set on the farm overlooking fields with horses in them.

The Wooly Wagon had a high standard of furnishing with a lot of attention to detail whilst still feeling somewhat spacious inside but retaining a cosy feel to it.

There's a double bed, a sofa bed, shower room and kitchenette with oven, hob and microwave.

Tea, coffee, fresh eggs and lovely welshcakes were provided on arrival.

The host Richard and his family were so nice and accomodating.
Highly recommended.

This is such a relaxing place. The cottages are set in absolutely beautiful surroundings. Covid has made some difference in that you have to bring your own bedding but that does not detract from having a break here. Apart from the bedding, the cottages are well equipped (our kitchen had fridge, freezer and dishwasher and the lounge had a wide screen tv). Wifi can be patchy away from the main reception area but that, again, does not detract and, actually, it was a blessing not to be receiving emails all the time. The owners are really friendly and will do everything they can to make sure your holiday is as perfect as can be.

We stopped here as a family of 4 . 2 adults , 17yr old and 21 yr old plus 3 dogs. A lovely spacious cottage with great facilities. Kitchen was ample with good quality appliances and plenty of pots, pans and cutlery. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom very big. We've been here numerous times( first time in Mill house) and have never been disappointed. Its surrounded by woodland, ponys, sheep, hills and rivers its absouloutly idyllic. You have the best walks on your door step or a short drive away. We walked along the estrey track to the pub, took a drive to fairbourn and walked across the bridge to Barmouth and let the dogs have a run on the beach, also drove to the precipice to walk around the Mountin with amazing views, had a nice walk around Abergwent woods which is just a short walk through the farm to get to and my husband and son did some trout fishing and sea fishing. We managed to pack plenty in our 4 day stay and really had a great time. We will 100% be back as this is such a relaxing place to visit. The family that run it are brilliant and nothing is to much for them and they always have a happy welcome for you. Thankyou for a lovely stay as always. Hope to see you all again soon. Regards The walker family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🐕🐶🐕‍🦺

We had a last minute, one night stay here in "The woolly wagon" and couldn't be more pleased we chose to stay here. The hosts were lovely and on hand to answer any questions we had. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a stunning location location. The wagon has its own enclosed garden which overlooks paddocks full of horses grazing, an absolute lovely sight to wake up to! We really enjoyed being able to relax and hear nothing other than birds and a river across the fields.
My only complaint is that our stay was not long enough.
We will definitely be back in the future for another, longer stay ☺️

The friends we were with have been going to Abegwynant Farm for a number of years but this was out first time and it won't be our last. This 800 acre farm is within the Snowdonia National Park and it has six self-catering cottages. Our cottage, Set in a spacious garden our cottage, Tyn-Twll, had a large lounge area, a large dining area, a fully-fitted kitchen, two large bedrooms, bathroom and outdoor shower room with toilet and wash hand basin. From Abergwynant Farm there is a walk through woodland to the disused railway track (now called the Mawddach Trail) which is a cycle (and foot) path between Barmouth and Dolgellau. For cyclists, there is also, not far away, the Coed-y-Brenin Centre for mountain biking.

What a lovely place. Wonderful surroundings, pleasant people, well equipped place. Just don't go thinking you will be in contemporary or modern surroundings! It's beauty is in its nostalgia. We felt like we'd gone to holiday with grandma in the woods! We had such a great time we booked for next year as soon as we set off for home!
Fabulous!!
