Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love visiting this campsite. Warm welcome on arrival. The toilets and showers are clean. Walks from the campsite. Best of all is the peace and quiet, nice to be able sit out at night looking at the stars without having to listen to other people's music.

Absolutely fabulous little site. Very clean toilet block and indoor laundry area. Really helpful owners who maintain the site really well and great play area for the kids. Beautiful beaches nearby. Fire pits, kindling and wood are available. Highly recommend!

Really lovely family friendly site that has good sized pitches. Facilities are kept very clean and owners are lovely. They have a dark skies policy so no lamppost lighting but that's not a problem navigating at night. The stars because of this are amazing (on a clear night!) Highly recommended

Stayed here in a camper for two nights when climbing locally and we were both really happy with the campsite. Quick check in, clean facilities and some nice walks direct from the campsite. Only noise we heard was on Saturday night when there was clearly a band on in a local pub, and the sound travelled across the valley! Hardly the fault of the campsite and wasn't loud enough to keep us up. Internet connection is about non-existent which isn't ideal when researching the local area but we managed. Would probably return.

Spent the weekend camping here at Barcdy, despite the weather forecast, we had a fab time! Check in was quick and easy. Campsite had everything you needed. Showers, toilets, always clean and tidy. Laundry facilities, washing up area, freezer for ice blocks. There was a book shelf fulll if books to borrow, plenty of tourist information, leaflets, information on walks around the path. Campsite was clean and tidy, plenty of bins for rubbish. Pitches were spacious, with a picnic table. Campsite close to a lot of tourist attractions, harlech Castle, port meirion, porthmadog, bedd gelert, blaneau Ffestiniog , slate mines. Would highly recommend this Campsite, and i would definitely stay here again

First stay at Barcdy and we would love to come back again. Check in was quick and simple, a list of campsite rules are given to you upon arrival and if you read them and follow the rules you shouldn’t encounter any problems (all of the rules are also on their website for you to view before booking). Toilets and showers are immaculate at all times, laundry room has washers/dryers you can use for a fee, a hairdryer which is free to use and 3 sinks to wash up (washing up liquid provided but will need your own sponge etc, I take all my own washing stuff anyway just incase). There is also a shelf in the laundry room which has a selection of both adult and children’s books you can borrow, and a selection of leaflets for local attractions. Campsite itself (bottom field) was lovely. We went during an off peak time so had plenty of space to pitch our tent and gazebo which came in handy when we decided to purchase a new, bigger tent midway through our stay. Water taps are close to the pitches too which saves a trek. Other campers were respectful of the rules and we had no problems at all with noise or sleeping. The road can get a little louder around 7am so that is something to bare in mind if you are easily woken, it didnt bother us though. Bins are clean and labelled for easy use. My tip for campers is to make sure your food is securely put away on a night time. We made the mistake of leaving a bin bag in our gazebo with leftovers in on the first night and were woken up by what we thought might be a badger rattling around inside the gazebo after the leftovers. I got up and cleaned any mess that had been made and we had a good laugh about it, however later in the week we were woken again at around midnight by a fox inside our tent with us. Just to clarify we did not change our tent because of the first incident, we bought a new tent because the gazebo I had purchased wasn’t very good and we decided a bigger tent would be a better option for ourselves. I had to get up to let the fox out as the poor thing had trapped itself inside and was scared, our food was put away correctly this time but it must have been able to still smell the box we were storing it in. Again we had a good laugh about it when it was over and we will forever remember our camping trip with fantastic Mr Fox. We will keep our food in the car over night for all future camping trips. The fact that foxes roam the site at night just goes to show how close to nature you really are at Barcdy. I’d come back here in a heartbeat

Well, What another amazing and pleasant stay here at Barcdy again. As always the welcome from Karen and George (Grumps) was so welcoming. This was obviously not my first time camping at Barcdy. Solo traveller since my Divorce, Camped here very happily with friends before my Divorce. I can honestly state the Friendliness and Welcome you receive when arriving and indeed throughout your stay are second to none. Nothing is too much trouble for either Karen, George or anyone else. As always the facilities are first class recent update to shower block, always kept in spotless condition. In my opinion, you would not be Disapointed staying here, YES, there are site rules, but they are there for everyone, Families can enjoy the safety, comfort and relaxing atmosphere that Karen offers. Who really wants to be on a campsite with noise running in to the early hours especially where young children are. In conclusion, I always recommend where possible a visit to Barcdy for the following reasons. Clean, safe , welcoming, fantastic views, Please look beyond the negative reviews, respect plays a big part in achieving your enjoyment, This is only what is required from you. Enjoy.

One of the best camp sites we have stopped in, very clean, great facilities, lovely owner and perfect location. Not to far in the car from local towns such as portmeirion, Portmadog and Harlech. In the laundry room they had books we could borrow and a file of local walks with duration times. It was all very organised and helpful. Also very cute and friendly cat 🐈

The park looked good from the photo's online, but beware, you may not be able to enjoy the views if the door of your RV is on the wrong side! Apparently driving cab first into our allocated site "broke the law" by having the door to our van face to face with the next nearest van some 30m away? Somewhat agitated after a drive from Snowden and frustrated not been able to enjoy the view I recluctantly signed up for their WiFi in otder to find another place to stay (there was no mobile reception there so each device you want to connect will need to pay for their WiFi). The WiFi worked and then stopped after a few minutes, which according to the owner is normal as their WiFi just doesn't work with some phones? I asked for a refund for the internet that wasn't working, which the owner assured me, if it wasn't working I wouldn't be billed. In addition to the refund for the internet (which I couldn't check on ironically enough with no internet) I also asked for a refund for the view I wasn't receiving and was promptly asked to leave! Which we obliging did. We have followed up on a refund as after our negative experience as when you review any of the negative feedback this site re ieves it ends with a bitter comment from the owners that I could not be bothered to give energy to. Stay away if you can!
