First stay at Barcdy and we would love to come back again. Check in was quick and simple, a list of campsite rules are given to you upon arrival and if you read them and follow the rules you shouldn’t encounter any problems (all of the rules are also on their website for you to view before booking). Toilets and showers are immaculate at all times, laundry room has washers/dryers you can use for a fee, a hairdryer which is free to use and 3 sinks to wash up (washing up liquid provided but will need your own sponge etc, I take all my own washing stuff anyway just incase). There is also a shelf in the laundry room which has a selection of both adult and children’s books you can borrow, and a selection of leaflets for local attractions. Campsite itself (bottom field) was lovely. We went during an off peak time so had plenty of space to pitch our tent and gazebo which came in handy when we decided to purchase a new, bigger tent midway through our stay. Water taps are close to the pitches too which saves a trek. Other campers were respectful of the rules and we had no problems at all with noise or sleeping. The road can get a little louder around 7am so that is something to bare in mind if you are easily woken, it didnt bother us though. Bins are clean and labelled for easy use.
My tip for campers is to make sure your food is securely put away on a night time. We made the mistake of leaving a bin bag in our gazebo with leftovers in on the first night and were woken up by what we thought might be a badger rattling around inside the gazebo after the leftovers. I got up and cleaned any mess that had been made and we had a good laugh about it, however later in the week we were woken again at around midnight by a fox inside our tent with us. Just to clarify we did not change our tent because of the first incident, we bought a new tent because the gazebo I had purchased wasn’t very good and we decided a bigger tent would be a better option for ourselves. I had to get up to let the fox out as the poor thing had trapped itself inside and was scared, our food was put away correctly this time but it must have been able to still smell the box we were storing it in. Again we had a good laugh about it when it was over and we will forever remember our camping trip with fantastic Mr Fox. We will keep our food in the car over night for all future camping trips. The fact that foxes roam the site at night just goes to show how close to nature you really are at Barcdy. I’d come back here in a heartbeat

Excellent campsite and highly recommended. Camped there for 7 nights and had a great time. On arrival staff were very welcoming and friendly and we were able to choose our pitch which we did at the top level "The Noll". Pitches were very spacious , clearly marked and each had a picnic table which was very handy. Camping area was very sheltered. Toilet and shower facilities were nearby and were spotless. There is also a pitch with goals on the lower level with plenty of room to play. Location is great with Porthmadog within 15 mins drive and it has lots of shops etc. Also very close to the Western Rail Steam Train , theme parks, various castles , lovely beaches and , of course , hikes in Snowdonia . If /when we are back in the area, we will return !

We've just got back from an excellent 4 night stay here. We're a family of 4; two adults and two children aged 8 and 6, staying in a tent with electric hookup. The pitches are very spacious and have a picnic bench. Even with a lot of rain the pitches weren't water logged. The facilities were spotless, with a good number of toilets, showers and washing up sinks. There's a really good park for the kids, well away from cars. We also hired a fire pit and bought firewood etc from the owners for a reasonable price. The owners are both lovely. We would definitely recommend are looking at returning.

I was due to be the lake district doing the Lakeland 50 but injury got in the way. So we booked this very last minute on Thurs evening and headed up on Friday for two nights. The campsite had toilet/shower and laundry facilities in two locations both very clean and we were in a two man tent just with fellow campers at the top of the campsite. it was very quiet and peaceful. The sun was out the entire time thankfully. It's roughly 5 miles into Harlech which is definitely worth a visit and the beach was lovely. Take your own beverages though as there isnt a pub in walking distance.

High praise from our 3yr and 5yr old granddaughters. They loved every minute of our stay, and so did we. We we're all together for 5 days here . Our base was our 2 campervans on the camping field where the kids tumbled about, bounced on hoppers, chased bubbles to their heart's content while parents and grandparents provided the audience. We really appreciated the dog free site, which meant the kids could freely go barefoot, roll on the grass etc. Choose this site for its simplicity, cleanliness and peaceful nature, don't come if you need high tech entertainment. Thank you team Barcdy for a great bundle of family fun, and thank you to our fellow campers - like-minded spirits!

Sorry for the late review , I thought i did it when we first came back from our trip . We all loved this camp site , great location for getting about we had an electric pitch & fantastic weather ☀️we were by the road side so their was some slight traffic noise at night . The site was kept very clean and spotless , my son had a whale of a time here making new friends safe play area up the hill … he didn’t want to come home . we felt safe here . We did have a word with the owners about a certain camping group being noisy in the early hours and also in the morning ..6am they kept running their diesel engines continuously (1hour) And but after speaking to the owners this was sorted swiftly .

As you will see from the photos we had a large group and many babies toddlers and teens who as we all know can be loud but I am sure the adults were no less. Before coming here I as we all do read some of the negative reviews and was worried about the size of our group and the noise etc. Nonsense the people who run the place never once said anything to us about noise no threat's nothing other than extremely warm and friendly when we approached them. The site is the cleanest and best equipped I have been too it's beautiful and close to a beautiful little town . The surroundings are stunning and if you are courteous and friendly and considerate as a family and want to go camping in a beautiful north Wales location this is for you. Thank you for the memories we will be back x

Only booked for one night (as they were fully booked up) but wish we could have stayed longer. The owners went out of their way to ensure tents had dry, well-drained pitches (even though they’d just experienced severe storms). They were incredibly helpful upon arrival and always very friendly. Toilets and showers were spotless (I also saw a washing machine but didn’t use it myself). Site was quiet and friendly and all appeared to be families. Having stayed at other sites that allow big groups we wanted somewhere more cozy and safe for children (which this is). Had a wander round the site - there’s lots of room between tents/caravans and different areas to pitch up with their own amenities blocks. All have really great views, especially the ones further up the hill ‘the knoll’ which were magnificent. The whole site was spotless and very well kept but with fabulous wooded areas for kids to explore. We will definitely return; hopefully for longer this time!

We have just returned from 5 nights away here and we loved it! We are already looking to return next year.
A quiet, family friendly campsite ideally placed for visiting Harlech, Porthmadog and Barmouth, but also not too far afield from Snowdonia. The pitches are a good size with plenty of room between tents and the owners are very welcoming.
The newly refurbished facilities were super clean and our children enjoyed playing on the football field and the new playground. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Absolutely brilliant campsite. We have stayed here for the last four summers and we booked again for next year when we left. Friendly, helpful family owners that are always at hand if you need them, usually cleaning, emptying bins or tending to the grounds. Spotless toilets and showers. Good sized pitches on well kept flat fields. Children's play area. Couldn't ask for anymore.
