After booking the site for myself, the girlfriend & the dog for 2 nights in the tent, we arrived and were greeted with a sign to call reception. We were told to head to the field on the left and pick any plot to setup camp.
Very clean site, well cut grass, spotless toilets and showers with high pressure hot water whenever used.
Id definitely recommend this site over another large competing site further north (not naming).
Lovely local pub on the main road (12 minute walk) called the Ysgethin serving good food and local traditional ales.
Prices were very good per night, recommend to friends and anyone looking to camp/stay in Tal-Y-Bont/Barmouth area.

Really great site quiet and well kept.
However we were very disappointed with one member of staff firstly in the cafe when we ordered food. We found her very abrupt in the way she spoke to us when we ordered food in the cafe.We took this every one has an off day
However when we went to the reception to ask about swimming she was agin abrupt even her colleague looked embarrassed by her manner.
Her name began with L.
Another member of staff Heather was totally the opposite friendly welcoming and helpful she was a credit to the holiday park.
Sorry to have to write this but reading the other reviews I wonder if it’s the same member of staff that hasn’t improved her customer service skills

Just stayed here for 4 nights in B24. The park and caravan were immaculately clean, and the caravan was very well equipped with all you could need. The park has great facilities and is only a 2 - or 3-minute walk to the sea. There are also some very good eating establishments nearby within a few minutes' walk. Looking for a quiet upmarket camp, look no further. Recommended!

Very disappointed in this site. We were looking to buy as regularly visitors to barmouth

We arrived late so saw nobody and when we left had to drop the keys at a house. Nobody came to see if we were ok or to explain facilities or anything. Very disappointing when they are charging roughly £90 per night.

Swimming pool had hairs in it around the side
Jacuzzi worked intermittently
You have to do your own bedding they just provide it.
No bins around the park to put litter or dog bags In
Caravans are nice but there is absolutely no help or advise from the owners.
We would never return to this site again
Many more nicer sites around the barmouth talybon area.

Response from Debbie B, General Manager at Sarnfaen Holiday Park
Responded 10 Jun 2015
Thank you for taking the time to leave a response to your stay here with us. I would now like to take the time to give our opinion on what happened! The reason you are not returning to the Sarnfaen Holiday Park is because we are not permitting you to return not through any choice of your own. This is because of the lack of care you took with our holiday home which we kindly let you hire. Our booking terms and conditions clearly states that you are to leave the holiday home in a clean and satisfactory condition on departure. (Cleaning materials are provided under the sink). A member of the team discussed the issue with you on the telephone on Monday 8th June when you called to try and book another stay here with us. We also state that you are issued with a bed linen pack on arrival to make your own beds. This is so our guests have assurance that the linen is clean for them. You also asked for towels which is normally chargeable and i notice that you forgot to mention that we gave them to you complimentary. (a saving of £20.00) We discussed your late arrival and gave you clear instructions to collect the keys from the park warden who was waiting for you. In your holiday home is an information pack about the park, detailing everything you would need to know including where our 2 large refuge compounds are and that our dog bins are situated on the private dog walk area. It also states numerous times if you have any issue at all please do come to reception and we will be happy to help! There is even an out of hours emergency number monitored 24 hours which you did not call. You decided to check out early after the reception had closed and at no point did you come and ask what to do with your keys or linen prior to making this decision. However the out of hours site warden attended to you efficiently returning your deposits for your ID bands and taking your keys off you. There were no reported issues with the swimming pool or spa during your stay which is all checked hourly. Our reception was open from 9am to 6 pm during your stay and you did not bring any of your concerns to my attention or any member of the team. We pride our self on our customer service to all of out guests and attend to any issue immediately. I am sorry you feel the way you do about Sarnfaen but i do wish you lots of lovely family leisure time at the other holiday parks in the area. Thank you.

Although it is a lovely site and dog friendly ! Facilities are lovely nice small but quiet pool and gym. It was let down by the caravan a bit though ! Found hairs on loo's and in shower, dust is unreal (doesn't take 5 mins to run the duster around...). Plus the glasses were not exactly, ready to be drank out of, I also think new mattresses and pillows would be nice seen as felt like was sleeping on a rock with brick pillows! I know the people probably don't have long to clean the caravans but hooving behind the bedside tables and checking for dust doesn't take long ! As no one wants to sleep with other people's skin around them ...

We are sincerely sorry that you left here feeling the way you do. We take extreme pride in how clean are caravans are and our goodwill demonstrates this. I really wish you had brought your concerns to the attention of myself or a member of staff because i can assure you this or any issue would of been addressed immediately. I can not comment if there has been an oversight in any way as we have not had the chance to see the issue you were concerned about. Our friendly team during the check in process always state if you have any problems at any time please let us know and we will be happy to help. As we can not link this response to any booking i would be grateful if you would call the park to discuss the matters so i can obtain the facts and try and rectify your feelings of our wonderful Park.

We often visit Barmouth staying on other caravan sites. This time we decided to give sarnfaen a try. It was a good decision. The caravan we stayed in was gorgeous! Very clean and well maintained. Linen and towels were provided. I would have liked them to be white, as they look clean and fresh, they were pink and orange but thats might be me being fussy. We enjoyed the leisure facilities every day. The pool area was clean and my little boy absolutely loved it! Staff in the office we polite and welcoming. We will definitely be visiting again.
