What a wonderful site and amazing wardens, Karl and Julie couldn’t have made us more welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The grass was kept immaculate and the lower shower room was clean with plenty of hot water (didn’t use shower up top). The coastal walks were fantastic, walk to the Port (10 mins) to chip shop, pub and cafe (crepery), 20 mins walk to Co-op and bus stop, frequent buses to get you around Anglesey and dog friendly. The weather was very kind to us, wall to wall sunshine, plenty to do and see and some stunning small coves/beaches to swim in. The waste toilet emptying system was different to any other site I’ve been on but was manageable ( very large plastic container with screw lid on top) it was ok if you didn’t tip the cassette up to quickly, hopefully this will be improved . Other than that I would highly recommend a visit.

Wow what a site. We were met by Karl and Julie the owners who gave us a guided walk round of the facilities and Karl showed us to, and reversed us into our pitch. The electric is metered so he showed us how to hook up and said the meter reading was on the info pack he'd given us which it was. The pitch was level on grass. Karl loves his grass. He tends it lovingly mowing every day and moving vehicles according to the previous campers grass flattening exploits, ie awning marks etc. Its a small site but spacious between vehicles. The facilities are clean and comfortable and the showers are powerful. No extra charge for these. At night, WOW , the stars!! If you love star watching then go here!! It's amazing. I saw shooting stars, the constellations, planets. Also nearby is a cove where dolphins play. It's so relaxing this area. I slept like a log the 4 nights we stayed! At home I have trouble sleeping due to poor health. Think I need to move here permanently! Karl also saw my hubby struggling after a long walk and offered to drive us back to our pitch. Such a nice thing to do. There are free-range chickens, turkeys and quails on site to look at and maybe buy an egg or two. Horses in the next field. Birds of prey above. Dolphins and seals nearby. Nature heaven. Thanks Karl and Julie for a great stay. We will be re booking soon. Tracy and Steve.

My partner and I rented the Cabin for a few days and had such an incredible time! Karl and Julie are the best hosts - people who are going out of their way to make sure their guests are okay and feel welcome. The cabin itself is closed off from the campsite - you walk through the gate and it's like walking into another world with the hottub and a huge, private decking area with a view over the fields and mini river. It was such a blissful and picturesque way to spend my birthday :) I would definitely consider going back if ever in Anglesey again. It's lovely and peaceful around this part of the island too - loads of walks and beaches about and walking distance to some proper local pubs and a fab fish & chippy!

Couple who run site are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Facilities clean and very good. I can see why some have said its like being in someones back garden. Lovely scenic coastal walk just off site great for dogs. If that side of Anglesey again would stay again.

Walkers be aware ! The sign is misleading as this place no longer allows camping. I arrived at 7, pitched and spent time chatting with the one other guest. When I saw the owners car was home I introduced myself and was told that I needed to go as they didn't do camping. I was confused as the other guest there had a tent as well as his camper van but it was after sunset and as I was effectively being thrown out into the night I was concerned with getting my tent down and heading off as quickly as possible. when I expressed that I was worried about finding another campsite at this time to the man he just closed the door in my face! I wondered if this couple had just experienced some personal tragedy as I have never experienced such coldness and terrible customer service at a campsite before. As I left, I noticed that the hens were not free range but in tiny cages with a very small ourdoor muddy space and so did not purchase eggs here.

Katharine, Katharine, Katharine, having taken the time to write a review about Mount View, I think you are a little confused & mixed up with the detail, plus I think you were and are being very presumptuous about several facts. Firstly, had you taken the trouble to research your trip prior to just turning up, you will have seen or been told that we are a campsite (Yes, we are a campsite, and at no point did I ever say to you we are no longer a campsite!) catering for Motorhomes, campervans, caravans, roof tents, trailer tents, 5th Wheels etc etc. Having turned up at the site, rather than making presumptions about staying, I would have attempted to contact the owner, our contact numbers are on display at the front of the property, plus another camper offered you our contact number, plus you could have got our numbers via the internet, but no, you decided to just pitch your tent and also used some of the site facilities prior to being told to do so? Is there any surprise in the way I responded to your, “well I’m here now what are you going to do about it attitude”. Had a little contrition been evidenced from you, then the result may well have been different, (and this was before I found out you declined our contact number from the visitor staying in the campervan?). In the seven years of owning and running Mount View, you Katharine are unique, you are a first. From all the thousands of visitors welcomed to Mount View you are the only person to turn up without booking, pitch a tent without asking, using the facilities without being told to do so, and then presume you just need to saunter to reception and ask how much is it to stay? Yes, (and this makes me chuckle as I have never & could never be or even accused of being Stoney faced?) I was that person who asked if you were “off” and then watched you leave the property before I closed the office door (slight exaggeration on your part! Again!), or would you have preferred me to whistle the tune of “High Ho” to see you on your way, or better still, put you into our car and taken you to another campsite because it was my fault for you not pre booking, or checking the campsite guidelines prior to your arrival? Good luck with the remainder of your walk around the coastal path. Diolch, Karl & Julie PS. The chickens are doing fine, in their small 200 sq. ft run (they have never been kept in small tiny cages? (something else you got wrong I’m afraid?)) and they had to be kept undercover at that time to comply with the rules the authorities laid down as a result of the bird flu outbreak(s) all over the UK.

We stayed for 2 nights and had the loveliest most peaceful stay. The site is small and quiet, individual toilets and showers. The showers are spacious and hot. Homely washing up sink and fridge. Every square inch of the site is pristine, so well maintained and cared for. Karl and Julie are the nicest people you could meet, we even saw Karl lend his tools to someone to mend their motor home, genuinely made you feel like you were staying with them rather than just on their land. Really dog friendly. Site is only 6 pitches so was never noisy even when busy. Gorgeous walks 5 minutes from the site, a lovely port and a few places to eat. 10/10

We spent three nights at Mount View and it is really great little campsite. Everything is well maintained and cared for, pitches are nice and level, facilities are spotless, Karl and Julie are wonderful hosts with nothing too much trouble. Karl even supplied us with a 5amp fuse for our telly when ours had blown. Karl is also really knowledgable about the area and thanks to him we got see a couple of wonderful places we just wouldn’t have picked up on. The location is lovely and peaceful and there is excellent dog walking just a few yards away from the entrance. Hope to be back sometime soon.

We are just at the end of a 6 night stay & we’ve loved the site. Karl & Julie really can’t be better hosts & they always seem to be working to improve the place. The showers & toilets are kept spotless & the whole place just looks clean & tidy. The pitches are all grass but it’s very firm so no chance of getting bogged down, although there is also a static & cabin, with a hot tub, to rent. Anything we needed, Karl & Julie were there to help & give advise on where to visit etc. The site is only small, with 7 pitches, but each pitch is a good size & comes with electric hook up & a fresh water tap close by. There is also room for small tents around the trees which, at the moment are full of blossom & look lovely. The harbour is a 7-8 minute walk away where there is a good chippy and a couple of pubs & cafes (try the crepes The Quays cafe). We can’t wait to come back

Hi Chris, thank you so much for the review, its really appreciated by both Julie and myself. Some changes since you visited though, we are no longer taking tents due to the damage they cause to the grass, and Quays café is no longer, its been taken over and reopened as Skye's Creperie, and the crepes are even better (so I'm told or course?) Look forward to your return visit to Mount View, Karl & Julie

Huge thanks to Carl and Julie for a wonderful 2 x week stay. Immaculate site and facilities..showers amazing plus fresh eggs. Lovely small and so so peaceful, just what we needed. Advice was on hand for best fish and chips, ice cream etc which we fully took!. Due to work constraints, we can only get away at short notice, but we couldn't have had a better break. Wholeheartedly recommend and we will be back...soon...

I just want to thank Julie and Karl for their hospitality during our stay. The camp site and facilities are spotlessly clean and tidy. Both made a fuss of my dogs. All other campers very friendly and as it is a small site, we got to know each other. I’ve come away with a new friend. They are not accepting tents from next year which is a shame as I would have re-booked..
