Located on the coast of the beautiful of Isle of Anglesey, Bod Hyfryd (“Beautiful dwelling”) is a house with a fascinating history….a former Captains House, it was built for Captain Ishmael Williams in 1874; He was the master of a locally made 3 masted schooner called “The Gaelic”, which regularly sailed from Amlwch Port to South America and beyond. Today it has been lovingly restored, but still retains a lot of the original features, including roof timbers reclaimed from old ships. At present, we have two double rooms, with exclusive use of our recently installed luxury shower room. Schooner is tastefully decorated in a nautical theme, whilst Rivendell has a relaxed luxurious ambience with embossed wallcovering, hotel style padded headboard and local artwork. Our beds have sumptuous pure down mattress toppers, quality cotton bedding and cosy feather & down duvets. You are guaranteed peace & quiet, and a warm welcome from your hosts, Julie & Pete

Booked the 2 rooms out for a family visit. A very pleasant stay. Julie and Pete are great hosts and nice to chat too. The bedrooms are clean, tidy and lovely comfy beds. It's tucked down a private lane off the main road, so if anything like us it's great not to be woken up by the noise of traffic in the morning. Mornings are started by a great breakfast in the breakfast room, with good variety of continental and cooked, of course tea, coffee and juice. Decaf available! But we need the caffeine The cooked breakfasts have a few options and we enjoyed them all, particularly the Welsh breakfast. Excellent quality ingredients. Lastly, the shower is great if your like me and like a nice shower in the morning to wake up. Location wise this suited us as visiting friends in north angelsey, bit being the island it is, no where is far when we had a tour out, so a great location. Would definitely stay again if over on the Island

Stayed for two nights and had a great time. Second time we've stayed here and Pete and Julie were great hosts once again. The bedroom and shower room were excellent. The full Welsh breakfast filled us up for the rest of the day. Will definitely be staying there again. 15 minute walk from the Adelphi Vaults pub where great pies are served and the landlord John and the regulars are are great company

We had a wonderful stay for 2 nights. We have been before and it again, didn’t disappoint. Julie and Peter are so lovely and can’t do enough for you. The quality of everything is top notch and the breakfast is to die for! I had the avocado breakfast which I had both mornings as it was amazing and I couldn’t wait to have it again! My husband had the full English which again was perfection! Thank you again for a really pleasant stay, we will be back!

We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect B&B. Bod Hyfryd had everything we needed from the peaceful rural location, comfortable beds to outstanding breakfasts (you must try the French toast!). Julie and Pete were so welcoming and fun to be around, giving us fantastic advice on what areas of Anglesey to explore, including a beautiful swimming spot 5 minutes from the B&B. We were amazed at how many attractions were situated within driving distance, such as paddle boarding on the Menai Straight and walking through the Parys Mountain Copper Mine (feels like you’re on the moon!). For dinner, we recommend Pebble’s Bistro, Dylan’s Restaurant and for something more local – a Pie Minster from the Adelphi Vaults in Amlwch. Use of the wood-fired hot tub and meeting Lulu the family chicken was such a bonus and made our first holiday since lockdown very special. As we are still living through a pandemic, it was important that the room was clean and social distancing still occurred; fortunately, these standards were met, and we felt very safe at Bod Hyfryd. Overall, we cannot recommend Bod Hyfryd enough and look forward to coming back very soon.

Just returned from five amazing nights at Bod Hyfryd on Anglesey. Julie and Peter were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure everything was perfect for our stay. Our rooms were beautifully clean and well presented and extremely comfortable. We used the hot tub on one evening and would highly recommend it in such a beautiful garden setting surrounded by clear starry skies, owls hooting and bats flying around. It was idyllic. Julie’s breakfasts were amazing and we all particularly enjoyed the french toast with fruit and maple syrup. Would love to return.

Arrived to a friendly welcome, B&B is ideally situated for exploring beautiful Anglesey and great access to the costal path. Our room was clean, cosy and comfortable with some lovely finishing touches. The breakfast was brilliant we couldn't have asked for more. Peter and Julie were very kind and helpful hosts. Would definitely visit again.

Bod Hyfryd is a well presented B&B with good amenities, nice rooms and great hosts. It is situated on the quieter side of the island but close to the village of Port Amlwch. It's great for walks along the coast, on the beach or for eating, with plenty of restaurants or pubs in easy driving distance.
