#2 of 6 B&Bs / Inns in Amlwch
Located on the coast of the beautiful of Isle of Anglesey, Bod Hyfryd (“Beautiful dwelling”) is a house with a fascinating history….a former Captains House, it was built for Captain Ishmael Williams in 1874; He was the master of a locally made 3 masted schooner called “The Gaelic”, which regularly sailed from Amlwch Port to South America and beyond. Today it has been lovingly restored, but still retains a lot of the original features, including roof timbers reclaimed from old ships. At present, we have two double rooms, with exclusive use of our recently installed luxury shower room. Schooner is tastefully decorated in a nautical theme, whilst Rivendell has a relaxed luxurious ambience with embossed wallcovering, hotel style padded headboard and local artwork. Our beds have sumptuous pure down mattress toppers, quality cotton bedding and cosy feather & down duvets. You are guaranteed peace & quiet, and a warm welcome from your hosts, Julie & Pete

Arrived to a friendly welcome, B&B is ideally situated for exploring beautiful Anglesey and great access to the costal path. Our room was clean, cosy and comfortable with some lovely finishing touches. The breakfast was brilliant we couldn't have asked for more. Peter and Julie were very kind and helpful hosts. Would definitely visit again.

Bod Hyfryd is a well presented B&B with good amenities, nice rooms and great hosts. It is situated on the quieter side of the island but close to the village of Port Amlwch. It's great for walks along the coast, on the beach or for eating, with plenty of restaurants or pubs in easy driving distance.

Lovely relaxing stay with Peter & Julie! Amazing hosts who were on hand should you need them! The property is exceptionally clean and the hosts have taken all the relevant steps to comply with covid guidelines making it a safe stay. Beautiful countryside setting within walking distance to Amlwch Port. We used as a base to explore the stunning Anglesey coast line. Breakfast was amazing and set us up for a days walking. Thanks again for a lovely stay 😊

We stayed for 2 nights at Bod Hyfryd, we were the first guests in the B&B side since the COVID 19 regulations have been put in place. Julie and Peter have done everything they can to ensure that they meet the guidelines and we felt very safe and well looked after. The house is lovely, it has lots of character and the rooms are decorated to suit that. They are very clean and comfortable with everything you could require. Breakfasts are amazing! Lots of choice, quality ingredients, beautifully cooked and presented. The full Welsh breakfast really does set you up for the day! The house is only about a 15 minute walk from Port Amlwch and the Coastal path, and is a great spot for touring the island. Julie and Peter are very friendly and welcoming, we had a great stay and would definitely return.

Thank you so much for your glowing review, it was certainly a tad nerve racking reopening after all those weeks, but we're glad the new systems we put in place seem to be working ,both for us and our guests. You are welcome to come back any time! Pete and Jules.
