My wife and I had to travel to Anglesey at the last minute to attend a funeral. I have also been in the shielded group since the start of the pandemic and was a little reticent to go into a hotel and mix with others I have not done so since March. I rang the hotel and spoke with the owner, Adrian, as on their web site they show they have a separate building called the Gatehouse, with its own entrance, which would have been ideal for us. However it was not available as they had started to close the hotel down due to the new lockdown announcement in Wales. He did well me that they had a number of other rooms that also had their own access and were not in the main hotel. Sounded perfect and they were.
Beautiful rooms, beautifully furnished and so clean and well maintained. Everything had been deep cleaned since the last occupant and the room had been fogged and then tape stuck across there front door to show no one had entered the room since it was cleaned, marvellous.
When wee went for breakfast the next day (only 3 other people staying that night and they had already gone from the breakfast room) the service and food was tremendous but then over and above what you would expect the lady owner, knowing that my wife could not attend the funeral due to there being a restriction on numbers and was therefore sitting in our room all day and given that, outside of their control, the power in Amlwch was being switched off fo 5 hours due a cable break in the village, had made my wife a flask to take back to the room. They also told us to stay in the room as long as we wanted and to just leave the key inside when we left.
They could not have been kinder or more helpful.
All in all a great place, well positioned on the Island, wonderfully clean and modern, great food and fantastic hosts - what more could we ask for. We will be returning but, hopefully, for a more pleasant reason.

I actually rated this 5/5 just wouldn’t add extra green dot for some reason? It deserves 6 to be honest! A very high standard in both cleanliness of self catering rooms and excellent food and attention to detail from booking to arrival to departure . I firstly rang direct as I was looking for a pet friendly room Elaine the proprietor told me they had one available and to book direct on their website. I have a couple of chihuahuas and have to say first time we have included them on a weekend trip as kids all left home so time for doggies to come away with us. On arrival they received a little welcome bag of goodies. How lovely. It had a doggie area for walking and toileting and a wash areas if muddy after beach walks etc. However just so you know they can’t stay in room unattended. Fair enough so they came to dinner in the bar area which was lovely and welcoming with a roaring fire. Food was outstanding as was the service from the friendly staff. Breakfast was time slots which was great as meant we last ones so dogs didn’t bother anyone as one little bit anxious and barky. Elaine bought them fresh sausages which they loved. Set us up for the day. Highly recommend this great friendly accommodating hotel and can’t wait to return very soon. Excellent value for money.

We have just returned from a 5 night break to lastra farm and we have really enjoyed ourselves. 4 of us stayed in a family room which was more than adequate in size the Furnishings are first-class and the bed really comfortable.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis - the breakfasts were fantastic quality and you could not want for anything else, really good standard of food.
We ate in the dining room three of the knights and the food once again was of Fantastic quality from local produce.
The staff are very friendly and helpful too.
I would very much recommend staying here, dogs are welcome too and are made to feel part of the family without bothering people travelling without pets.

Our first visit to the Lastra so first impressions were such friendly and bubbly staff, wonderful breakfasts and dinners (lots of choice), clean rooms despite ours having shower doors which did not close flush.
The view out of room 1 and 3 rooms partially obscured due to conservatory roof.
Recommend booking a table as the restaurant appeared to be popular with locals.
We ate dinner here twice - menu different and enough choice to satisfy all our tastes. We are so glad to have eaten in the restaurant as one of our group has a severe allergy to dog and cat hair and we noticed visitors with dogs were being directed to the bar area.
We definitely would stay here again as not on a main road and fairly peaceful.

We had a 5 night stay at the end of July to celebrate my birthday. Even with covid the hotel made excellent adaptations to their service to ensure that safety of us as guests and their staff was of upmost importance. We felt totally safe and could not fault any part of our break. We had breakfast in our room which had a table and chairs added to it to accommodate the situation and we also ate every evening at the hotel by ordering in the morning and booking a time slot for collection to eat again in our room. Elaine and Adrian the owners are always hands on and this is also lovely to see. Daniel the bar manager goes out of his way to make the stay very welcoming as do all the other staff. We have a dog who is made more than welcome and has her sausages for breakfast when we had ours. It is a hotel we visit regularly and would recommend to anyone. The rooms are beautifully furnished and kept ultra clean. A credit to all who work there. See you later in the year.

After spending a lot of our holidays on Anglesey, we decided to book Lastra Farm after visiting here with family many years ago for meals.

We weren’t disappointed at all, in fact we fell in love with the place. The location has lovely views of rolling fields, not too far from the sea at all and other beautiful places on the island. We met both Elaine & Adrian within the first hour of being there and they were really welcoming making us and our two dogs at home. We settled in to the room which was spacious and very clean. The hotel was fully COVID compliant and everything was set out for ease and safety.

Every meal from breakfast to evening meal we ate there was delicious and we highly recommend eating there. All the staff were attentive and they really made you feel welcome all the time being friendly and even making the dogs feel welcome.

All in all, this is one of the best places we’ve stayed on Anglesey and we will definitely return for another stay.

Perfect.

Our 2nd stay at Lastra with our 2 Labradoodles. A perfect set up. I’m sitting on our sunny patio writing this review whilst the dogs dry out from the very handy dog wash provided.
Couldn’t be more welcoming and the food is superb. Only downside is we have to go home on Friday

Our first trip to Anglesey, Lastra Farm is a find! Wonderful staff, friendly, helpful and efficient. Food was great, evening meal and breakfast. We stayed in room 21 and it was huge, with fabulous views, very clean throughout, in fact the whole hotel is spotlessly clean with all staff either in face masks or face shields. Will certainly be returning.

Check in was welcoming and easy.
The room was accessible and very substantial. The bed was comfortable. The shower room was spotless and had good water pressure with a rainshower head.
Lovely touches with toiletries, coffee, tea and biscuits. A birthday card and prosecco for a birthday surprise too.
The restaurant was excellent for a relatively small hotel and a jewel in this crown.
The portions were generous and the quality superb.
We chose the seafood platter and the gammon.
Breakfast was equally brilliant using local produce.
This hotel goes the extra mile and In would love to stay again on any future visits to Angelsey.
Highly recommended

So been here Monday 9th - Thursday 12th august 2021 on a break. As for a dog friendly hotel, it definitely is, lots of treats, towels, staff love dogs and dog washing facilities etc. However, in terms of walking a dog, unless you’re willing to drive miles across the island, there is nowhere near by. We found a field opposite to give my dog a run which she loves but there’s always that risk of her running into the middle of a road. The amount of land the hotel have around them, it would be a good idea to have an enclosed dog pen for dogs to run in safely.

I was in room 21 which was absolutely lovely, you couldn’t fault the room, on the main part of the hotel and beautifully decorated, lovely bathroom etc, all rooms are dog friendly and my dog loved this room. However, she was based with my parents who were staying in room 10, the gatehouse. I don’t normally like to leave bad reviews but the minute I walked in here to see my family, straight away I smelt a damp musky smell. As someone who’s been to university and lived in damp student accommodation, I could smell it again and it absolutely reeked, even my dog wasn’t a fan. That needs urgent attention and I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay here to be honest. It’s also advertised as having an enclosed garden but it’s not enclosed. It’s open and there’s still a chance the dog could run off which isn’t ideal if you are bringing a dog.

In terms of the hotel, it was lovely. Breakfast was lovely apart from the lack of fresh fruit, but I guess this is due to COVID so people don’t touch it etc. There was a co-op about a 5-10 minute drive away where I was able to get some apples and bananas. Meals were also lovely in the evenings and couldn’t fault the food and the way staff are with dogs. They also do lovely coffees too. Only slightly criticism was that if you asked some of the staff to get you something like extra butter etc, some of them could be a bit rude as if it’s a huge task for them, but 90% of the staff are friendly.

Overall a nice hotel but wouldn’t stay again, purely because it’s in the middle of nowhere. It is great if you’re looking for a base where you can drive around and explore but if you’re not one for driving, don’t bother. It’s also a good stop off overnight base but if you’re wanting walks without having to drive, I’d think again before booking.

I think they allocate rooms for people with pets and keep other rooms pet free. If you phone and speak with Elaine or Adrian they will certainly be able to reassure you. Thanks
