Some very mixed reviews on here.
We have just spent the last 2 nights at this house, Usually I always read reviews before booking anywhere to stay, reading good & bad reviews to get a sense of any issues. I didn’t with this booking so when I did eventually read some of the bad reviews I was very concerned about what we were walking into.

Sue is the owner. She has inherited the house from her mother 2 years ago. It is fair to say there is a lot of clutter which probably would improve the appearance of the house if it was cleared out. It looks like an awful lot of old family stuff. Also a lick of paint in the hall/ stairs & a new stair carpet would also help massively with first impressions. It could be a beautiful house, it has a lovely kitchen range & gorgeous fireplaces, unfortunately we are not getting to see the best of the house which is a real shame.
We stayed in the large double with a hugh double bed & enormous en suite which housed a double shower & separate bath. The bedroom was dated but carpets windows were clean & bed linen was fresh & the shower was excellent. No issues with the room.

Other patrons complained that it wasn’t very clean, (I’ve already mentioned the hall) we didn’t see their room so cannot comment but I’ve got to say I saw their empty breakfast plates so it couldn’t have been so bad & people were complaining about the noise of the seagulls which I don’t think Sue could have done a great deal about that.
Breakfast was plentiful a bit overzealous with the cooked breakfast, lots of choice, cooked to order.
I’m not a cat lover but there is one there, it caused no issues for us.
Sue seems to have a fair number of visitors & looking at the guest book most people are happy with their stay.
I just feel that people aren’t getting a real picture of the house & maybe should give it a go. It’s in a great spot too.
We wish her well.

We recently stayed here, 3 female friends for 2 nights. We had a bedroom each & no-one else was staying there. The general standard did not meet basic requirements of a b&b. I appreciate it was her home, of which she was very proud but it dated back to 1860 & she wished to retain the old world charm. In essence it was dowdy, cluttered & not v clean.
Specifically, the toilet door mechanism was faulty so she advised us to leave open.
The shower was fixed to the wall with cement or putty . I narrowly avoided the shower head falling onto my head whilst getting it to work.
We were each given a front door key but on our return at 10pm, found that we couldn’t access the door. We hammered on the front door, windows & back door for 40mins until she finally emerged advising that u have to lift the door catch slightly.
Fire doors were left wedged open.
There were tea/coffee facilities in each room & the lounge but you had to ask her for milk. The coffee had hardened in the container.
We knew she had a cat but didn’t expect to find it roaming round the bedrooms & on the bed.
The next morning we decided not to stay the 2nd night & I attempted to explain the reasons why but she cut me off, visibly sounding anxious & distressed. She advised we couldn’t have our money back & whatever I told the booking site - she would disagree with. Whilst finishing our breakfast she advised us that she was going out as she had a days teaching & asked us to lock up, leave the keys & put the cat out.

Quaint and quirky but has a few problems.

Firstly you have to pay for the electricity, there is a spar down the road to do this but it is an inconvenience. To be fair, I should say this was in the very small print on the booking site. I only realised this on arrival when informed. The Aga takes about 4 hours to heat up, so if you arrive late and want to make something you’re out of luck. Sue, the hostess, did offer us the use of her electric cooker but after a long drive and wanting the privacy of your own kitchen it wasn’t ideal.

The car parking is a stone wall with a gap covered by bushes, broken stone and debris. If you have a large vehicle it will be difficult to park.

The door to the cottage has two locks, one of these is a yale lock. Who knew if this was pushed down when you left it meant you were locked out 🤦🏾‍♀️.
We arrived back one afternoon and couldn’t get back in. There is no signage or note to say not to put this down.

Sue informed us that we would have to put the extending ladder up and push the first floor window up and climb through the window. This is not a joke.

The hot water in the bathroom sink doesn’t run hot all the time.

The tv signal keeps cutting out and freezing.

The kitchen is small and to get to anything in the cupboards is difficult.

The cottage has character but it needs a lot of love and investment.

It was an experience staying here. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

Room Tip: The cottage is on Ratings Row around the corner not Church Street. Parking is difficult.

I would say that it is better not to have any expectations about the accommodation. The property is a generational time warp from 1800 to now- with family belongings etc everywhere. The landlady is an artist and there are paintings everywhere- wouldn’t be to everyone’s tastes but once you lower your expectations, and realign yourself to the environment, it is a unique memory. The landlady was sooo lovely and we thank her for her kindness and generosity. The attention to detail in the rooms is again of a low standard given the current market and the bookings page is deceiving/ the rooms are cramped and cluttered. The room facing the road smells and our daughter found a worm in her bed. The decor is very dated and the lounge is scruffy. Breakfast was cramped. Whilst we made the best of our time we would not rebook. No one to welcome us and access to the property off the road is a free for all. In all honesty this shouldn’t be operating . Everything is old, flooring in bathrooms is split and broken, shower doesn’t have a proper handle. It’s all just very bizarre and I was shocked trading standards haven’t been in.

Not our original planned holiday, but due to the current climate we decided to have a Staycation. Husband’s family are from Anglesey, so we looked for a dog friendly place to stay. With lockdown easing, there was limited choice and I was rather worried as the Trip Advisor reviews were pretty bad (and there were no photos) but I figured it was just a place to stay and so I expected the worst! Admittedly the cottage annexe was impossible to find (the address may be Church Street but you access from Ratings Row at the back) but we found it eventually. It may not be the pristine cleanliness of certain well known chain hotels, but we did not find it as bad as described in other reviews. After all, it is an old house which is unique, albeit quaint and rustic and has a great back history. I made sure I took photos as it was really quite lovely ! Sue, the owner was charming and helpful throughout. Things to note are the electric AGA seems incapable of cooking anything, but maybe that was my incompetence- however, as you are in the centre of Beaumaris, there are many takeaways and dog friendly places to eat; the cosy lounge has a fire, which was lovely but does throw a lot of smoke back in the room, so counteractively you need to open a window. Overall though the place was cosy and a great location for our travels.

It was a good location but rather chaotic with nobody there when we arrived. The room was fine, if a little small, the public areas weren't very clean. The breakfast was fine, although not enough room for everyone. The lady was friendly and seemed a little over whelmed.

Church Street B&B is without doubt the most poorly run, dirty establishment I have ever stayed in.
We booked and paid for an ensuite room for two nights during the bank holiday weekend. I rang the B&B to enquire about towels the night before we arrived and to ask what time we could check in the next day. We were told 1600 hours was the earliest time we could arrive. We rang the door bell at 15:55 and after 10 minutes it was finally answered by a scruffy looking woman who greeted us with a vacant look when I explained who we were. She said I had no idea you were coming and had given our room to someone else. I said I called yesterday to confirm and you said we couldn’t check in until 16:00 and yet you’ve already given our room to someone else? She said yes, but I can put you upstairs. We were furious, but my wife was so tired from the journey I didn’t want to put her through the whole nightmare of trying to find alternate accommodation on a bank holiday weekend so we decided to stay. The room she gave us was small and filthy with no door lock, no tv, no drinks facilities and a shared bathroom. The windows were rotten and draughty, the noise from outside was unbearable and the room smelled. My wife went down to find the owner to ask about something and caught her in another room, spraying febreeze onto the bedsheets and ironing them. Freshening up used bed linen? Who knows, i dread to think. The shared bathroom sink was blocked and the toilet disgusting. Next morning we had to queue for breakfast for 40 minutes in her sitting room because she only has one breakfast table. The cooked breakfast was burned and we had 3 dogs sat in the same room begging for food. We complained about everything and she refused to give us the difference between the ensuite room we paid for and the room we actually stayed in. This place needs closing down.

The host was not there to let us in despite arriving when we said and during the allocated check-in period. The parking space we requested did not exist and there was no street parking. A clueless person showed us into a lounge as they did not know which room we were in. Another guest had been knocking on the door for 40 mins waiting for access. The furniture in the lounge was very tired and had been extensively clawed by cats. We decided to leave immediately as my wife has a cat allegy. I went to look for the staff member to inform them and observed a large black cat walk across the dining table and then onto a highchair tray where it decided to take a nap. I wrote a note of explanation for the host and then left. I have subsequently contacted the host and she has refused a refund. We had paid in full via a booking site.
The property was very tired, and smelt musty. The decor was scruffy with paint peeling off the walls and damp patches. The host will not enter into reasonable dialogue and is not taking calls or replying to emails. I would advise anyone thinking of booking this property to think again.

Had to let ourselves in. Took one look and smell and left. Managed to get one night in a nearby hotel. Had originally booked for 3 nights. £95 per night is a joke. This accommodation should be removed before a yo else's weekend is ruined.

All I can say is don't book. We didn't last an hour. Not clean and big black cat that was in the cottage. Cat hairs on the breakfast table. Paid for 2 nights. Left and booked at local hotel who had heard all about the cottage.
