Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at 2 Old Coastguard House in the first week of Feb 2020 and were blessed with great weather. The property is situated on a peninsula overlooking the Menai Straits and Puffin Island. Its lovely and quiet, with hardly any neighbours. Beaumaris is only 10 minutes away, which is a lovely town with a great castle. The mainland of North wales is only 20 minutes away.
The interior of the cottage is beautifully decorated and its is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the decor. We found it to be very clean, warm and cosy. I could live there !!! The facilities were great and we had everything we needed for our stay. Even had a telescope to watch the seals on Puffin Island. a lovely welcome pack was a pleasant surprise
The bedrooms are all of a good size and there are two bathrooms.
Exteriorly there is a lovely wrap around garden with plenty of birds and wildlife. Outside furniture is provided.
I highly recommend this property and we will definitely be making a return visit.

Fabulous cottage! Amazing location, so very lucky to have sea views from every room. We stayed in the master bedroom, opened the curtains every morning to a glorious view of Penmon lighthouse, Puffin Island and the sea!
The pebble beach is yards away, as is the lovely Pilot House Cafe, great food and cocktails.
The house was beautifully decorated, and very warm and cosy. On rainy nights we lit the fire, and it was lovely.
Bedrooms very comfortable, bathrooms great, powerful shower.

If self catering would advise bringing food, as shops are a drive away.
We loved seeing the pheasant visit the garden every day.
Would highly recommend

What a amazing property! After many years this is probably one of the best we have stayed in! Absolutely spotless on arrival, attention to detail, decor just beautiful... and dog friendly! We were a couple and one dog but will return with our grandchildren as Penmon / Anglesey is one of our favourite places. The garden is perfect for families and the annex bedroom is a bonus for families needing a ground floor bedroom. View from 2 of the bedrooms outstanding as is from the garden ❤️

We booked this cottage on air b&b to stay may 2020
We did notice a couple of reviews said they had been let down by the owner cancelling. But we liked the look of this house so much and it was
Perfect for our daughter who’s in a wheelchair that we booked it anyway.
I received an email today to say that they had sold the house so had to cancel our trip!
Funny that it’s still on other sites
At double the price we had booked it at!
I’m guessing the owners had put the wrong price on air b&b so have lied their way out of it!
Furious and upset please don’t book this cottage if you definitely want a holiday!!!
