Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good hotel as ever but the change to self service in the restaraunt not what we would like to see at this type of hotel. Noisy bedroom (heating unit?) not good for poor sleepers. Lounge upgrade good quality but prefer old style residense facility. Support direct bookig

Great and friendly service, well cooked bistro style food in a restaurant with a relaxed feel, cosy bar, good sized clean room. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Bull is now part of the Inn Collection group. We have found the quality to be very consistent across the group, with the style of individual locations reflecting the character of the type of establishment, in this case a pub

Woke up to no hot water in the building what so ever. Same because it was good apart from that. Also there was a strip light over the whole window on all night you couldn’t switch it off! Food was good.

We enjoyed our stay & our room was excellent. The experience will be improved when the building work is finished. Parking to check in is a problem & advise on how this should be done in advance of arrival would help.

Our room was very comfortable and we had a great sleep. Overall we found service was poor. Having to wait to be seated in the restaurant for lengthy periods in the evening and at breakfast with noone to be seen was odd and I had to contact reception or the lady at the bar more than once. Standing at reception while the receptionist chat together was also not what we experienced on our last visit. However, having said all of that the staff once you had their attention were very pleasant and the Manager was excellent! The food was tasty but again not the standard we experienced on previous visits.

We were trying to eat in historic pubs and try beers we'd not tried before - this was an excellent pub for dinner; at there 2 evenings. Excellent fish and ships, steak & ale pie. The main dining area is more modern/recent but the front pub area looks more original. Definitely recommend it for dinner. Wish we'd stayed there but they had no rooms available when we were looking.
