Oh how I wish we had found this hotel instead of the awful one we were staying in. We had 2 meals here, we hadn’t booked but we managed to get a table in the bar. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, and the home cooked food was exceptional. A real find, brightened up our stay especially as the weather was awful.
Because of my wife's food allergies it is always difficult for us to eat at restaurants. The staff brought out the chef to go over the menu so my wife could know what was safe to eat. She also is allergic to perfumes and they went the extra mile to change her sheets when she complained about perfumed sheets. They went the extra mile to be accommodating to what must have been difficult for them. The hotel rooms are nice and cozy and very clean. Overall a very good experience with excellent customer service! Well done!
We stayed two nights here on our Anglesey walking holiday. The hotel exceeded all expectations. Comfortable and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and professional staff. In particular the restaurant meals are superb. Highly recommended.
The Bishopsgate is the quintessential real hotel. No fads - proper room keys, proper breakfast, no buffets, delicious local food cooked when ordered and delivered piping hot - no hotplates for half an hour - superb staff and service. The room, 10, was quirky and extremely comfortable. All the facilities required were there. This is the place to have break in beautiful Beaumaris.
Great friendly hotel, excellent staff , super menus, excellent meals, lovely rooms, we had one of the smaller rooms as it was one of the last remaining rooms, it was lovely and clean and warm, we were made very welcome by Hazel the owner and her lovely staff, including the best staff member Ringo who gave everyone a warm welcome with his bouncing character and wagging tail. We will definitely return.
The hotel is in a fantastic location in the town centre and has a private car park which makes it both easy to locate and accessible. Highlights Dog friendly and go to lengths to ensure this including reserving us a table for dinner in the bar where dogs are allowed. Excellent food including a vegetarian breakfast. High quality service from really friendly and knowledgeable staff. We opted to go on the second floor to get a sea view but if I went again I would do fewer stairs - we were absolutely offered this option so not a criticism - I would just say with hindsight for the sake of seeing the sea not worth it for me. The room was comfortable and not too warm The bathroom was small and basic, needs an update but we had everything we needed and got a great night's sleep. Our evening in the bar was relaxed and fun and we would definitely go again. Worth noting while it is absolutely dog friendly they limit the number of dogs allowed so do check and book early and there is no grass outside , you need to walk over the road and to the green. Overall recommend particularly for the service and restaurant.…
The hotel is in a great location within walking distance to all that Beaumaris has to offer. We were made very welcome and our dog Honey felt like she was at home with plenty of fuss from other guests. Ambience, food and service were sensational. Will definately be booking again very soon.
Just stayed for 3 nights in room 9. Positives, great location in Beaumaris and on Main Street near shops and restaurants. Breakfast good and freshly cooked. They looked after our dogs food in their fridge, appreciated and nice touch. Bed was great and slept really well. They have a residents bar on site. Parking available at rear of hotel. Room cleaned daily. Definitely worth a stay if you’re visiting Anglesey.
In the perfect location for Beaumaris (eg 2 minute walk to the fantastic Beaumaris gaol museum) and for exploring the whole of Anglesey, this is a perfect grown-up's hotel. ALL the staff are fantastic friendly and efficient, from the service staff in public areas to those behind the scenes, such as one of the chefs whom we met. Special mention for the person in charge of cleaning the hotel, not only friendly and helpful, but keeps it impeccably clean - even skirting edges - to a standard better than most. During our 4 day stay the food was consistently excellent (we understand from speaking to Anglesey residents that this restaurant is often the venue of choice for special occasions) and the waiting-staff attentive, helpful and flexible. The owner/manager herself could not do enough to ensure our every wish was met, both in the restaurant and generally. Our room was large and bright, and the bed and bed-linen really comfortable, with the efficient radiator keepin the room warm during the colder periods of our stay. The decor in the hotel generally is beautifully in keeping with the age and style of the building. So, if you want a loud, brash, minimalist, post-modern hotel with fashionable quasi-nouveau cuisine, choose a chain hotel. If you want a peaceful, restful, spotless hotel with attentive, flexible and friendly yet professional service and lovely food, in a beautiful period building, this is the place for you.…
