Having just read a review of one has inspired me to write a review. We stay there two or three times a year and in our opinion we don't agree. We always get a warm greeting from Hazel and the staff, nothing is too much trouble and the rooms we have stayed in are superior to those in comparable hotels we have stayed in. We enjoy the food but as we have stayed there many times we would appreciate more changes to the menu.

We chose the location as we visited the island several years ago on our last trip to wales, we only had 1/2 day there and wanted to spend more time exploring the area.
Bishopsgate house hotel ticked all the boxes on paper and didn't disappoint us. We received a warm welcome from the moment we arrived.
We stayed in room 4 at the top of the this beautiful old town house, under a multi sloaping roof which gave the space a quirky but cosy feel. We even got a view over the meni straight to Snowdonia from our little window. Due to the available roof space the sink was in the room rather than the ensuite (hubby was a little freaked out by this to start with - but it wasn't a problem) there was plenty of hot water for showers. The bed was comfy and the cleanliness of the room was excellent. The WiFi was good which helped us plan our days and we were able to locate some amazing ancient sighs to visit, and plan a couple of days out off the island.
As we travelled by car, parking is a requirement for us, normally we end up staying further inland to secure accomodation with carparking. The car park is quite tight but can accommodate guests as long as everyone is considerate and parks well. We always managed to get into a space but it often took a lot of going back an forth to get the car into and out of the space.
Breakfast was amazing, and set us up for a day of exploring. We ate in the restaurant 1 evening and the food was amazing!
The location was great a a good base for exploring the area. We really enjoyed our stay.

We visited Beaumaris for two nights in order to meet up with family elsewhere on the island.
This small hotel is well situated on the Main Street, with a small car park, for residents, at the rear.
The hotel has a very traditional feel, with a friendly, non intrusive atmosphere.
Our room came well up to expectations. Traditionally furnished with a four poster bed, the room was well laid out and scrupulously clean. The usual tea and coffee making facilities were complimented with a decanter of sherry!
The en suite bathroom was well appointed and spacious.
The small restaurant was very traditional and created an intimate space for dining.
Breakfast was cooked to order and served by good humoured staff. Nothing too much trouble.
We had dinner on both nights of our stay.
Local produce cooked by a talented chef. Well presented and delicious. I enjoyed the hake dish so much on the first night, I decided to repeat the experience on the second evening! Superb food.
This privately owned hotel is a hidden gem on Anglesey. We had a delightful stay and subsequently booked for two more nights for my birthday in November.

We recently had a gorgeous stay at Bishopsgate House, staff are lovely and so welcoming, service is spot on and the rooms are great with lots of space and have little extra as a welcome gift! We stayed 22nd - 24th December and the hotel felt extra festive, everyone was in high spirits and nothing was too big of an ask. Considering the hotel is dog friendly it is absolutely spotless and the rooms are immaculate, we stayed with our 1 year old cockapoo who was given a sausage for breakfast and a fuss was made of him everywhere we went! Our evening meal was lovely and breakfast was delicious! Hotel is in a great location you don’t need your car at all for the town, easy to find and has free parking at the back. Thanks again for a lovey stay, looking forward to planning our trip for next year!

We have been to this hotel for the amazing food several times and just got back from our first weekend stay. The food has always been delicious and very well presented. The staff are friendly, helpful and very professional. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious and the beds are very comfortable so much so that my son didn't want to get out of his the next morning and missed breakfast for an extra hour in bed. We especially enjoyed the nice little touches in our room like tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits, chocolates and sherry, fresh towels and soaps, The view from our room was stunning. We look forward to our next visit. We will definitely be back. Thank you hazel and all of the staff at bishops gate for a wonderful weekend.

Bishopsgate is a late 18th century hotel situated on the main street in Beaumaris, near to the sea, shops and the castle. It has been sensitively decorated to a high standard. Hazel and her colleagues are extremely welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. The bedrooms and public rooms are cosy and the food in the restaurant is mostly locally sourced, cooked to order and is absolutely delicious (at a very reasonable price). It's no surprise that Bishopsgate has won several food and hotel awards. We look forward to a return visit.

We had a very relaxing couple of days at the Bishopsgate House Hotel and are happy to recommend it if you are visiting Beaumaris. It is an old building so a bit 'creaky' but this is part of the charm. We had room 2 at the top which does have low ceilings (we are six foot or more) but there is a modest sea view to compensate. The bathroom is certainly in need of an update and the window a little draughty (hence the four star review, not five) but generally we were very impressed. The staff are amazing. Friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Even the resident dog wants to make friends (you can take him for a walk if you want!). The restaurant food was excellent, both for the evening meal and breakfast and the bar and lounge were cosy (very welcome when it is freezing outside). The location is great. Within easy walking distance of everything Beaumaris has to offer and there is a small but convenient car park solely for the use of residents. You won't regret booking a stay here and you will be made to feel very welcome.

The hotel is in a fantastic location in the town centre and has a private car park which makes it both easy to locate and accessible. Highlights Dog friendly and go to lengths to ensure this including reserving us a table for dinner in the bar where dogs are allowed. Excellent food including a vegetarian breakfast. High quality service from really friendly and knowledgeable staff. We opted to go on the second floor to get a sea view but if I went again I would do fewer stairs - we were absolutely offered this option so not a criticism - I would just say with hindsight for the sake of seeing the sea not worth it for me. The room was comfortable and not too warm The bathroom was small and basic, needs an update but we had everything we needed and got a great night's sleep. Our evening in the bar was relaxed and fun and we would definitely go again. Worth noting while it is absolutely dog friendly they limit the number of dogs allowed so do check and book early and there is no grass outside , you need to walk over the road and to the green. Overall recommend particularly for the service and restaurant.

We had a small double which was ideal for our one night stay. The room was in the eves and made great use of the available space with a small but perfectly adequate shower/ensuite. Our evening meal in the hotel was freshly cooked and extremely good and there was a great choice of food including vegetarian options. Breakfast was also excellent. The outstanding thing about the hotel was how nice the staff were - they really made our stay and we would happily return.

My husband and myself have just enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the Bishopsgate Restaurant. The menu was very varied and we were spoilt for choice. The restaurant setting was lovely and the food was amazing. The food was piping hot and portion size excellent and the prices were very reasonable The service was attentive, professional but friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Hi we have rooms that will accommodate 2 'z' beds but it is a bit of a squeeze, however many guests stay this way. You can only book 'z' beds if you book with the hotel direct as some of the rooms aren't big enough to accommodate them. Children are always welcome at this hotel and two of our latest reviews enjoyed their stay with young children.
There are more places to choose from in the Beaumaris area.
