A unique and characterful hotel, in a serene setting. Nice homely feel, with friendly and helpful staff. Good cooked breakfast each morning in the restaurant, and the steak was perfectly cooked on the night ate in the hotel. Spa facilities were great and made for a very relaxing start to each day. Wi-fi signal could be a little intermittent in the room, but generally not an issue. Location-wise it's nicely centred and good for visiting the various parts of the island. Will be back!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the hotel and spa. We were very happy with the room it was lovely and spacious with a very comfortable four poster bed, the bathroom had a lovely shower and a deep bath. The staff from the reception, the breakfast service to the evening meal service were pleasant and helpful especially catering for my dairy intolerance at breakfast. A continental breakfast was offered of cereal, pastries and fruit aswell as offering cooked breakfast of which we both enjoyed a nice full English breakfast with fresh coffee. The spa facilities of pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi were well kept and very relaxing and enjoyed by both of us. I had a brilliant and very relaxing Hot Stones Massage by therapist Pamela of which she was very skilled, it really helped to release the tension and stress, I would definitely recommend Pamela and I will be booking again. Would definitely recommend this hotel and spa.

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left all the staff were so very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble 5☆ service. We really enjoyed our breakfast, and our evening meal was superb, many thanks to the very kind chef who adjusted the menu for our dietary requirements. Our room was a little dated but perfectly clean, the little patio on the courtyard made it feel really special. 4☆ Spa facilities really clean and very nice, as where the treatment rooms. Staying at this time was wonderful hearing all about how excited everyone was about the work taking place and how beautiful it was going to be, your team clearly love the place. Hats off to you staying open at this time, must be so much harder for you. Speaking to a local I believe they are incredibly grateful to be able to continue to use the facilities as there's no place like it. We can't wait to return and see what you've been up to.

The rooms are very dated and old. The double beds are 2 beds pushed together that eventually come apart during the night. There is damp around the French doors and the shower does not stay hot. The full cooked breakfast is poor and tastes cheap. The spa facilities however are lovely very clean and welcoming and if you want a shower use the spa facilities as they are so much better than the ones in the room. The staff are friendly. This hotel has so much potential but at the moment its very disappointing

This hotel looks beautiful from the pictures so we expected good things and at £170 per night, however although the hotel is clean it is undergoing renovations. Our room was tired. there was mould by the patio window and mould around the bath. Our shower appeared to have no hot water after running for 10 minutes. The king-size bed was two singles pushed together this is a pet hate of mine, and not very comfortable although it was clean. The facilities Spa , Pool , Etc were good. The restaurant was poor. we were so looking forward to a nice meal but wow we were so disappointed. Although the restaurant looked the part the food was poor, The menu was very limited and it was at best cheap pub classics like burger and chips, reconstituted bread Crumb chicken breast and chips, chicken curry Should have been lamb curry but no lamb, Steak and chips. You get the picture. We had what was supposed to be Butterfly chicken breast on a brioche bun with caramelized onions. It was a cheap fried reconstituted bread crumb chicken burger, the onions were not caramelized just charred on a grill slightly with a few oily chips. We had carrot cake after and it was very bland like mass catering rubbish you get aboard. Over all very disappointed with our stay.

A friend and I abandoned our camper van for a night of luxury! The spa is excellent and the room warm, clean and comfy. The hotel itself is enormous and whilst possibly seen better days, it’s an impressive place to stay. The restaurant, whilst not fine dining, was very reasonably priced and we enjoyed our curry!

The king-size bed as it was described was two single mattresses pushed together that drifted apart as we slept. We waited an hour for our evening meal and had to endure watching the new owners and their children sitting in the sofas in front of us eating their meals, helping themselves to the bar .One man had dirty paint stained work clothes on while he reclined in a Chesterfield that was in the guest area.We felt like we were sitting in their lounge not a 4 star hotel. No moves were made to make us more comfortable eg complementary drinks or comfortable seating as we waited. No apology or warning of delayed meals was made until they arrived. Breakfast also took them half an hour even though we booked a time with them. The restaurant and bedroom were not adequately heated..Regular staff we knew from previous visits were as charming as before. We felt the new owners were lording it with their acquisition of what is a lovely country manor hotel and spa were actually coasting on its great reputation.Cheap bread ,yogurts, invisible pastries and no note of where the produce for the cooked breakfast came from was more the fair of a cheap boarding house or roadside cafe than a 4 star hotel, the menu residing in a plastic laminate. The children were once again there at breakfast playing in their pyjamas picking up glasses for drinks, putting them down again now contaminated for guests to use. They also were in and out of the kitchen in bare feet. Health and safety abandoned but I suspect the regular staff were wary of speaking with the new owners about their children's behaviour.

We came here for the spa on a hen weekend up from liverpool. We had a brilliant afternoon, staff were lovely; from the reception staff, to the lady round the pool, the treatment ladies and the girl who served us afternoon tea. The whole experience was lovely. Spa and treatments were great and afternoon tea was delicious. Helped us make the weekend such a lively one. Thank you

A friend and I spent 3 nights at his hotel in September and were very happy with it. We had 2 comfortble rooms each with its own little patio. The staff were all very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. There were a few small blemishes, for example the bathroom fittings were a lttle shabby, and the brackets by the shower which should have contained shower gel and shampoo, one was practially empty and the other non-existent. The food was very good, a mixture of Asian and European dishes for dinner. There was a varied selection of wine. Breakfast was a cold buffet with cereals, bread and coissants, and hot dishes were individually cooked and served to each table. The hotel is in a lovely position with beautiful countryside all round. There are a lot of red squirrels but you have to get up early to see them!

My husband and I joined the spa and gym got a trial membership while on holiday in Anglesey and I booked a treatment as a treat. The positive things. The pool/gym staff are lovely can’t do enough to help, drinks can be served by the pool and the pool is nice. The cafe staff are lovely and helpful. Reception staff seem stressed. The not so good things. The main thing that went wrong is I had an awful treatment that made me Ill for 2 hours afterwards. I suspect the therapist wasn’t properly trained. They massaged my pressure points during a facial and it was uncomfortable. I thought she must know what she was doing and didn’t say anything to begin with. But then asked for her to stop the constant massaging of my temples. Afterwards I was nauseous, shaky, headaches and light headed. Since I’ve asked other therapists who’ve said that you have to be very careful with temples and over pressure does lead to these symptoms. I’ve had a lot of facials and noons has ever massaged my temples. On top of that the therapist was five minutes late, left me for ten minutes while I was in the room and they charged £60 for 50 minutes of which I got just over 30 minutes with the therapist. I paid as I was feeling so I’ll and didn’t have the energy to complain. After that I did ask to see the manager who I eventually spoke to the next day. He didn’t seem that interested and didn’t offer to refund me. I had cancelled some future treatments for me and my sister and the only thing he offered was for ne to reinstate those treatments and he said he would charge me £100 for 2 treatments (usually £120) but I said I wasn’t sure why I’d pay again for treatments that made me ill. On top of this, the spa is very tired, the changing room smells of drains and the steam room feels a bit like a dungeon without lights and steam rarely came on so felt like a damp room. The gym is so dated and some of the equipment is difficult to operate and I wasn’t sure if was wholly safe and the air conditioner leaks which the members said had been like that for ages. There is a new owner who is investing in a new gym which is desperately needed and hopefully will be better. I got the feeling some of the staff felt stressed and not wholly happy there.
