We stayed in the Coach House and where delighted with the hospitality and friendliness of the two Managers:- Graham for the cottages and Anthony who looks after the gardens. The welcome pack they left for our arrival and breakfast, also the lovely smelling flowers (stocks) on the dining table was a much appreciated touch at the start of our stay.
The Coach house is amazing with immaculate bedding & towels in the bedrooms.
Showers / Bath all with lovely hot water and plentiful. The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances, cooking utensils, cutlery & crockery.
A grand dining room & sitting room with TV on the 2nd floor.
An added bonus is that as guests in the Coach House we were able to visit the hidden gardens anytime at our leisure. A wonderful experience in itself - what an amazing display of trees, shrubs and flowers.
Plenty power points in the Coach House with good Wi Fi.
All in all a lovely relaxing holiday for our group of Ladies in the beautiful house.

We stayed in the coach house (our second stay). Accommodation is spacious, well stocked and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. They can be busy when opened for visitors but never intrusive, and sheer bliss when you have them to yourself.
Highly recommend for a comfortable relaxing get away.

Well equipped accommodation, homely and cosy, a really relaxing environment in the well appointed gardens of Plas Cadnant. We were well looked after by our hosts Anthony and Graham, who could not do enough for you. The Brewhouse offers the excellent opportunity to relax and recharge the batteries in a totally tranquil environment. We had enjoyable walks through the gardens down to the enchanted valley, an enjoyable and relaxing week.

Could not have chosen a more picturesque or friendly place to stay. Plenty of accomodation options to suit your party size and lovely to be able to enjoy the Hidden Gardens in solitude at times when they are not open to the public. Anthony and Graham as hosts could not have been more welcoming-we felt less like guests and more like part of the family. In many ways would prefer to keep this hidden gem a secret but it really is too lovely to keep to yourself. Highly recommend.

We had the garden cottage which is stunning. The views from all the windows, especially the garden are beautiful. Spotless when you arrive and nice touches like flowers and food left for you. The actual Hidden Gardens are available to guests and are especially magical first thing in the morning or in the evening when all is quiet.

Any problems just ask Graham and he is very happy to help.

We had a great time as usual.

We hired the Coach House for a special birthday weekend with family. There were 11 of us staying there. The building is beautiful, the interior charming, and the kitchen sophisticated. We lacked nothing and had a wonderful time. The hidden gardens are magical. The whole complex is a credit to Anthony, Graham and the rest of the staff. My husband and I extended our stay by hiring the Old Brew House for the rest of the week. This was equally well equipped and charming. We can’t wait to return.

In late July we stayed for a week at Cadnant Lodge, which is located at the entrance to the Plas Cadnant Estate. This Lodge is a fine holiday property, surrounded by foliage of every kind and with its own Summer House set in the gardens above the Lodge itself. On arrival there is a nice welcome package of tea, coffee, bread, milk etc. waiting for you. The only drawbacks with this otherwise idyllic Lodge are firstly that you cannot arrive until 4.00 p.m. on your day of arrival and that a rather large and ugly road bridge is between the Lodge and the Menai Straits. Though thankfully some trees block out parts of the road bridge and the noise from it is not too bad, even when sitting out on one of the patios at the Lodge. The restored "Hidden Gardens" are fantastic and are a tribute to the foresight, hard work and many, many hours of toil by the owner Mr.Taverner, assisted by his small number of dedicated staff. We thought the Gardens were a mini - Bodnant Gardens, which is truly a compliment to this beautiful place. The new Tea Room opened for the first time during our visit and is a great addition to the whole Estate. The cakes served up at the new Tea Room are excellent. I think that we may try staying next time in one of the other Cottages which are located next to the Hidden Gardens at the top of the Estate. The Plas Cadnant Estate being nicely placed less than a mile from Menai Bridge and about four or so miles from Beaumaris.

Garden Cottage has the best interior of any holiday property I have ever stayed in. The quality of the finishes and the furniture is second to none. The gardens are unique and have a haunting, magical atmosphere.

Nevertheless there are several irritations. The cottage is situated on a working agricultural estate. On the days when the gardens are open, it is probably quieter than on the days when they are not. All sorts of activity is constantly going on, from pruning back invasive rhododendrons with electric saws to blowing sheep droppings off roads with leaf blowers. The holiday cottages are just part of the portfolio of revenue-raising enterprises that keep the estate afloat, and holidaymakers do not take priority over those activities. The incident that we found most intrusive was the use of a large drone in the garden, taking photographs outside the windows of the cottage, without any warning to us, despite the fact that one of the proprietors had chatted to us the previous evening and that morning.

Inside the cottage, the marvellous mahogany-framed double bed in the master bedroom, with its barley-sugar carving on the bedhead, is visual poetry. If only the mattress hadn't been so uncomfortably hard. The bed in the second bedroom wasn't so hard, but it almost filled the room, which made it difficult for two people to share without disturbing each other when getting into or out of bed. The pillows were tired and thin. But it was so lovely to hear the owls hooting at night, and see the little birds flitting about in the garden in the early morning. The double-aspect windows in the master bedroom make possible the fun of watching what is going on in both directions. One can also check on the evening sky to see how the sunset is progressing! Then it's time to rush out and take in its full wide-screen beauty. And of course it's a privilege to have exclusive access to the very special gardens when the day trippers have gone. My favourite sight was the flowering heather. This time we didn't see a red squirrel, but I'm sure that there is one at the bottom of the garden.
Another nice thing about staying at Plas Cadnant is the chance to spot curious fungi growing at the foot of the tall trees on the approach drive. There are some amazing ones that mimic frilly golden autumn leaves.
So my advice would be, do stay here, but bring a mattress topper and some pillows with you! And leave before 10 am on the last day if you are asthmatic, as the cleaners will enter on the dot of 10 and start punching the pillows, releasing clouds of dust!

I almost don't want to write a review for Plas Cadnant. I would like to get it as a secret so that I can book it again whenever I want. However, it's just to good not to write about it!
We had a bit of difficulty gettting to the estate, but that was are own fault leaving to late and trying to find it in the dark! When we did arrive - well how beautiful a place it is.
We stayed in Garden Cottage, which is the only cottage to have it's own private garden area! We entered the warm, spacious cottage and instantly felt relaxed. In the living room was a congratulations card, a bottle of sherry and a box of chocolates! What a lovely warm welcome! They had also provided a breakfast kit; bread, milk, tea, coffee, cereal and eggs. Again, a lovely thought.
Not long after we arrived Graham came to check in on us and explained the bits and bobs such as heating etc. A lovely friendly chap. We lit the wood stove fire and there we stayed for the next week. Plas Cadnant is very concenient for Menai Bridge and Beaumaris. We had some lovley nights in Beaurmaris, and the Waitrose in Menai Bridge was very near for any quick bits we needed to pick up.
A really good touch is the DVD they leave in the cottage. It tells the stroy of the renovation of Plas Cadnant and the Gardens. Really shows you how hard work and dedication can pay off!
The Gardens are beautiful. Autumn was set in when we were there and the colours were fantastic.
We would recommend this to anyone wanting an enjoyable, relaxing break.

Outstanding garden: will be famous. Delightful welcome from owners. Amazing quiet beautiful location, well equipped warm and comfortable (could benefit from extra bathroom). Two log baskets full of dry logs, first floor drawing room with huge wood burner and banqueting table. Highly recommended.
