Arrived at 4pm. Place all locked up. Only open at 5pm. Room was smalll not clean. Dirty carpet broken toilet seat. .. torn bedding. Room not visited by cleaner in the 2 days we were there. Hence no top up on tea bags or coffee. The worst was there was only 1 toilet roll. We had to buy some on second day. No hot water for a morning shave. Nobody around till 5pm each day Came back fist evening to find pub shut before 10 pm. Took 15 mins to get inside as we were not told entrance was up fire escape. Overall a poor experience..

I decided to book a room at the Bulkeley Hotel for myself and Jane, as we were attending a birthday party at the Hotel in the evening. I later booked a separate room for Jane's best friend but i made a school boy error of booking a different hotel with a very similar name Bulkeley Arms so me being the knight in shining armer ( not really i was told that it was my mistake and would be the one staying at the Bulkeley Arms) I'll start of with the positives, on arrival i was greeted by a lovely lady who showed me to my room which had a view of the beer garden and car park, she explained that i had my own private entrance through a fire exit which would open with a fob. The room had tea and coffee facilities, en-suite and flat screen TV. Decided to have a drink in the bar area bar staff were very friendly and polite it was 3pm and the bar was quiet apart from i think was locals enjoying an afternoon beer. I knew it was a lively Bar and asked what time does it stop serving alcohol which i was told around 11 pm. I went to my room and and got ready for my evening party at the hotel with a similar name. I'll now finish with the negatives which isn't all the hotels fault. On arrival i was shown to my room it was very hot ad stuffy the staff had opened the windows to try and reduce the temperature, there was no fan or air conditioning in the room The room was tired and required updating but sufficient for one night. On leaving the Hotel i noticed a sign saying that you might hear music in your room over the weekends but this would finish by 11.45 pm. I arrived back at around 11.15 pm went straight to my room the music was really loud so i decided to go to the bar and have a drink. I went back to my room at around midnight with the music still blasting out, i shut my windows but it still sounded like i was in the middle of Glastonbury music festival. The music was turned off around 12.45am, but the noise from the beer garden with people shouting and singing went on for a lot longer. I finally fell asleep around 3am too be awoken again "This is not the hotels fault" at 6.15am by seagulls, i would not normally want to kill a fly but i would happily of strangled those seagulls. I asked where i go for my breakfast and was informed that they don't do food. On checking out i spoke with a member of staff who informed me that it was a noisy night with a cheeky grin on her face I would not be sleeping there again over the weekend. PS Jane and her friend had a marvellous time staying at the Bulkeley Hotel and great pleasure on up[dating me on the choice of food for breakfast.

Bad place, scruffy and full of chav locals. Chav bar staff and a bad pub that looked scruffy and unkempt. We asked for the best pub when we got in the taxi, landlord must be his sister. Back outside area was a wasteland and they had three real ale pumps that were all out of stock. Give it a miss.

On arrival we tried to get into our accommodation but found that it was all locked up and no one around. We rang through to the contact we had who said it’s only just 3pm (check-in time) someone will be there soon, after a 6 hr drive we were frustrated to have to wait another half hour. A lady arrived and opened up, just about explained where rooms were situated and how to use private access when pub was shut with no enthusiasm or friendliness. We went to room which, was as expected, small but suffice for 2 nights. Room was not exactly welcoming and it appeared that the carpet had not been cleaned for some time. Bed linen was clean which was nice, bathroom was clean and appeared to be fairly new. Tried to make a coffee in room but think it must have been there for ages as it was solid in the sachet. Went down to pub to get a drink and decided against it as the pub looked to be similar to the rooms, I.e not clean. Staying in a small establishment we were expecting to be treated a little better. There was absolutely no food available and not even coffee from the bar…. In summary we would not recommend The Bulkeley

Great outside views on the “Menai straits” the weather was glorious, service was quick and the drinks well worth the wait. It’s great to see people and businesses getting back to normality. Next time we will stay the night and see what else Beaumaris has to offer.

Arrived Sunday afternoon, the bed looked as though someone had slept in it the sheets were so crumpled on closer inspection the sheets looked clean, the mattress had a mattress topper on but no mattress protector. Pillows were as flat as yesterdsys pancakes. The noise from the bar in our room at 4pm was ridiculously loud, i usually like to chill out before going out for a meal not here i couldn't wait to get out, sat down to dry my hair vibrations were coming up the stool from the floor, the area by the kettle was dirty as were other surfaces in the room . Went out for a meal at Dylans ( highly recommended) returned 10.40 sunday evening well the music could be heard from the next street, my heart sank. Karaoke until midnight! Continental Breakfast consisted of bread, cereals left out in the corridor, only 1 bowl so no way 2 of us could eat a bowl of cereal each, cost £75 shocking. I wouldnt go again if it was free

We stayed overnight at the Bulkeley Arms on a Thursday night in order to dine at Sospan and the Old Butchers across the road. A warm welcome, good pint of bitter, quiet and comfortable room and a well cooked, hearty breakfast. Recommended.

We've been so impressed with our stay. The staff are so accommodating and friendly. I am a vegan (and had not informed them beforehand) and without asking, the staff informed me they have vegan sausages for my breakfast. The room is clean and modern with a lovely shower and very comfy bed. Free parking was a massive bonus as are staying a couple of nights. We also had a wonderful night at the Bridge Inn- run by the same family. The food and live music was great!
