We are regular guests here, always enjoy the peace and quiet, warm welcome, comfortable accommodation and delicious food. As ever, we were looked after very well, and this time we were also very impressed with all the care taken around Covid-19 protocols.
Although it is located down a country lane it is well worth the journey to find it. We were given a very warm welcome before being shown to a very spacious and comfy room with a large bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was served in a room with exceptional views and the room was built over the platform of the station. Excellent value for money, when we are in the area again we will return.
An excellent B&B in a renovated old railway station with wonderful countryside surroundings and views, very clean and comfortable with a great big powerful shower and excellent breakfast. Good for Offa's Dyke walkers as well because the hostess will collect at the end of the day and return to the same point the next morning. A bit of a walk (800m?) to the nearest place for an evening meal but dinners can be served I think if pre-arranged.
If we could give this review just two words, it would be “Just Wow”! We had the most comfortable bed, a gorgeous breakfast with delicious coffee and then we were given a little history lesson of this most amazing house. We were upgraded to the King Size room, free of charge and the room was beautiful views of the Welsh countryside, to die for. Outside our window was a swimming pool that was actually once part of the old railway. The history around this house is astounding and the host wonderful! We have stayed in hundreds of B&Bs across Wales and have never slept so wonderfully as we did here. Just a ten minute walk takes you to a lovely pub that does wonderful food at very competitive prices. So here’s our scores- Location 10/10 Good night sleep 10/10 Hosts 10/10 Views of the countryside 10/10 Breakfast 10/10 Wildlife 10/10 Overall price Unbeatable Ruthin is just a couple of miles away and you can take a beautiful drive to Llangollen- a twenty to thirty minutes drive over the horseshoe bypass. Breathtakingly beautiful! Trust us when we say- this is a B&B that you do not want to miss out on. We will be back soon... P.s another reviewer gave a low score regarding the “pond in progress”. This pond was a part of the old railway and when we arrived was properly covered and tidy. It had no impact on our wonderful stay whatsoever and as for the breakfast being “no frills”. We were offered a range of food from the menu. They also state “the accommodation does not match their prices”. This B&B offers amazing value for money so we cannot work out what they are talking about. We are so happy we ignored their misleading comments and booked!…
Beautiful setting in Welsh countryside near beauty spots, wonderful view from dining room and lounge, excellent, quick and high quality service, very clean, lovely room run by very warm, friendly and hospitable people. Highly recommended all round
