Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Rectory in Clocaenog near Ruthin. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, food was fresh and very tasty and the owner Catherine was a very welcoming and accommodating host. We will definitely be returning to this peaceful location if we get the chance.

We visited here for 3 nights this week and were very sad to leave. Catherine was a wonderful host who couldn’t do enough for us. The location is utterly stunning, with bird song, a stream tinkling by and no car noise at all.
We had a twin room and a double which were spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed for our stay.
Breakfast each day was fantastic. Fruit, cereal, juice and a Full English all on offer. We were definitely well fed!
A beautiful cottage which we would love to revisit sometime

Had a lovely one night stay here on Saturday evening and enjoyed a very warm welcome from Catherine who owns the b&b. We had a charming room which was cosy and warm with tea and coffee facilities and also some delicious biscuits. We had a very big bathroom which again was lovely and warm. The following morning hubby had a big cooked breakfast which he thoroughly enjoyed whilst I opted for scrambled eggs on lovely nutty bread from the local bakery; delicious as was the fresh fruit starter. We have booked another weekend stay in May and would thoroughly recommend The Old Rectory Bed & Breakfast.

Best B&B I’ve stayed in (and I travel a lot).
The place is spotless, very clean and well maintained. In the current Covid environment my friends and I felt absolutely safe to stay there. The breakfast was very good.
The host Catherine was lovely and very attentive.
Would definitely recommend staying there!

We booked The Old Rectory a few days before travelling and what a great find it was. Spotlessly clean, lovely hosts and amazing food. The welcome muffins and fresh coffee were a lovely touch especially after our long journey. We would happily stay again and thanks Catherine for a very enjoyable experience
