Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in the cottage attached to the main house. The cottage was excellent. Everything you need. We had long days out & about the area it was lovely to come back & relax with snacks we had bought. I would recommend to anyone wanting to visit this area.

Stayed in king size bedroom. Clean and comfortable. Very good host who is attentive and takes time to listen. Be prepared for a big breakfast. Very filling and well cooked. Good pub, Glan Llyn is just over a mile away.

We visited here for 3 nights this week and were very sad to leave. Catherine was a wonderful host who couldn’t do enough for us. The location is utterly stunning, with bird song, a stream tinkling by and no car noise at all. We had a twin room and a double which were spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast each day was fantastic. Fruit, cereal, juice and a Full English all on offer. We were definitely well fed! A beautiful cottage which we would love to revisit sometime

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Rectory in Clocaenog near Ruthin. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, food was fresh and very tasty and the owner Catherine was a very welcoming and accommodating host. We will definitely be returning to this peaceful location if we get the chance.

Best B&B I’ve stayed in (and I travel a lot). The place is spotless, very clean and well maintained. In the current Covid environment my friends and I felt absolutely safe to stay there. The breakfast was very good. The host Catherine was lovely and very attentive. Would definitely recommend staying there!

We enjoyed our stay at The Old Rectory very much! Catherine was an excellent host who made us feel very welcome! Lovely breakfast made with fresh ingredients and cooked especially early for us on our first day as we were going out on a foraging course.
