Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I just loved this place. i stay in this area a few times a year, however i didnt know this farm existed until early this year and went for a look before i booked it. I was even more impressed when we went inside the cottage. a plate of welsh cakes on a tray with a tray made up for tea and coffee, fresh milk in the fridge. the cottage was very clean, cosy, and crisp white bedding. the view was lovely, just to see the sea and the trees, listening to the geese waddling along. the garden is just lovely, lavender everywhere and a lovely hot tub which was secluded.

The owners were just lovely. i will definitely book a cottage here now all of the time. fantastic value for money

I had stayed in Wrth y Nant last year and had a lovely relaxing few days away for my birthday with my dog and booked again for this year as soon as I returned home.
I arrived after a 6 hour journey (M5 was shut due to serious accident) and took the dog down to the beach to stretch his legs.
Unfortunately I slipped and fell on the mud and broke my ankle and lower leg. A kind lady from the holiday park helped me to her car, took me back to the cottage and helped me. I phoned John, the owner who came round asap and took me to the local MIU in Llanelli as there were no taxis available where I was well looked after and “plastered”
I kept John informed of what was happening throughout the night which was appreciated. My children drove through the night to pick me, the dog and my car up to take me home.
I can’t thank John enough for his help. Unfortunately I didn’t stay in the cottage but I was looking forward to a peaceful holiday again.
One thing I would suggest is that a slimline dishwasher would be a good addition.

We stayed at The Old Cow Shed from Friday-Monday, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The place is stunning, the cupboards are stocked full of everything you could ever need. We’re a group of friends and we all had enough space to do our own thing, but loved the games room and spacious kitchen to bring us all together. We ventured out to the nearest supermarket, about a 15 min drive, and took a walk down to the beach on the Sunday. If you’re after a lovely chilled weekend then I would highly recommend. We’ve already started looking at re booking for next year! Beautiful place. Thank you!

The good reviews are done by sited tourers. The pictures of the facilities (play areas for children) look fabulous was really excited to go to such a nice looking campsite. On arrival found everything looked good. Staff were friendly shown where to pitch on a map, after confirming the children’s ages. We booked an a 2 night stay camping. Arrived slightly later than we were expecting found a spot, which we wouldn’t have normally but as everyone had pitched around the perimeter didn’t seem comfortable just going in the middle. We settled in and then around 7:30 a large group arrived and pitched up in front of the playground, they also had children with them but were old enough to consume alcohol. These people kept us awake until 4:30-5 am in the morning. We didn’t complain at that point as they didn’t manage wake our children up (heavy sleepers) and we had a nice day planned out. My partner went for a shower and there was a guy knocking everyone’s doors asking for some shower gel, almost pestering people for it.

We left to go to the beach ( about 3 miles away) as the marsh/ estuary is not a beach. On returning to the campsite we realised our tent had been damaged. I went to the reception and explained we have come back and the tent was damaged, one of the people running it came to look and said the tent we had was known for problems and basically more fool us for having it. 😤 (3 years of use never a problem)

Found a temporary solution to our tent damage, but not once offered any sort of help (we wouldn’t have taken up the offer, but was none) just looks when driving past.

It seems to be a place that parenting your children goes out the window also as the children from the sited caravans were constantly running around the tent area.

This site is more like a travellers site! Huge proportion of run down seasonal caravans dominate this site, with tourers left squashed together (no attention paid to fire regulations). The "do what you want" attitude of this site certainly suits the majority of visitors - no guidance given to how caravans and tents sited means others just pitch within a couple of feet of your unit with no consideration. Ferral children run riot, noise is unbelievable. Parents take no responsibility for their own behaviour, let alone their children. The only relief from the noise is when trains pass 50 metres away and drown out the screaming, shouting and swearing. Toilets and showers are totally inadequate (5 ladies toilets, 4 men's, and 6 showers each for the whole large site) and filthy. Cars speed around site, with music blaring, with no regard to safety. Don't come here if you want any sleep, drunken groups at night and was woken at 6.30 am. 😩.

This was recommended to us by carers association to get a respite stay (our son has cerebral palsy) we've never had a respite break and he's now 23 so we really looked forward to it. Never again! We stayed in coeden afal, as soon as we opened the front door, the smell hit you. Couldnt actually say what it was but it was bad. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but we left after one. Depsite cleaning the place from top to bottom we just couldn't get rid of the smell. My husband tried the hoover and that was disgusting, full to the brim of animal hair. Its stunk the place up. Upstairs didn't smell so we retreated up there. Not good because the TV didn't work upstairs and there's a generator in the main bedroom that makes a noise. The garden was supposed to be private but it wasn't. From our kitchen we could see the neighbours in the hot tub and they could see us in the kitchen. The other side had a dog who barked the minute the back door was opened so we stayed indoors. The front was also a no go as its on the road to the caravan park and directly opposite the kids playground, so no peace at all. I left more stressed than I went and will never go again. We informed carers of it and sent pics, needless to say they won't be recommending them in the future. Over £400 for a run down smelly house, it's not on

My boyfriend and I camped from the 4th of June until the 6th, we have stayed before and the last time we stayed they were painting the toilet and shower block which look good now. The stay was great as usual, unfortunately on the first night the battery died on our car, but we were kindly jump started by the really nice staff who were lovely to chat to. The camping pitch was nice and level, there was a water supply to the pitch, there's trains running most of the day, but they're not too loud, also there's quite a few birds around which is good if you like nature. The bay is a short walk away and it is beautiful at sunset, there's also a park Dean holiday park that you can use at a small cost. There's quite a lot to see in the surrounding area and the Wales costal walk is in the area too.

Booked last minute and had a lovelly time. However lane's getting to campsites in are very narrow and get buzy in afternoon. Reception was very helpful and friendly. Beach, shop, swimming pool, parks and golfing along with take away or pub meals 10mins walk away to carmarthen bay which was a bonus. Facilities on site where great but did get full at buzy times. We had a ball and kids really enjoyed so have booked to return for a week August 2021.

Arrived Friday afternoon after a long drive, last few miles down narrow single track roads to a beautiful cottage, immaculately clean, well kitted out overlooking the hills and sea. Popped into the hot tub and relaxed.
There was however a note apologing for the work being undertaken, we had not been prewarmed. We could see a large concrete crushing machine and some diggers, however weekend and we had booked the wood fired pizza oven so we gave it a go.
8 am Sat woke to loud beeping noise, large machine was bring moved, this lasted two hours, not the quiet restful breakfast we had hoped.
The rest of Sat ,& Sun went really well, I had contacted owners to ask re Monday and possibly impact.
7.15 Mon am work started, diggers, beeping etc
So I contacted owners again. They offered refund if we wanted to leave or a reduction if we wanted to stay, however work was continuing. Due to health reasons and sanity with all the beeping, we quickly booked another cottage, packed up and left, so although lost a day and would have preferred we had been informed ahead of time, the owners did refund the money same day and there was no quibble over that.
Without the work going on, it is a wonderful remote get away.
