Service
The Glen is centrally located within five miles of the counties three main market towns, the cottage is situated just outside the quaint hamlet village of Rosemarket with its traditional village pub. The property itself is adjacent to the owners’ home which the owners have lovingly restored. Much of its original charm and character including woodburner and lots of welcoming touches.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went as 3 couples to have food and drinks, lovely garden and outside area but we ate inside as the social distancing and cleaning measures put in place were very good so made us feel very safe. Food was very nice and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Will definitely go back again soon

All 5 of us , including two children , really enjoyed our meals. Generous portions and very tasty. There is ample parking and an outdoor eating area, including a children’s play area. Ideal for couples and families.

We came here with a group of 2 other couples. The food was dead average but the worse thing was the service was TERRIBLE. The gentleman behind the bar was rude and slightly aggressive throughout the whole night. Not the greatest environment to be spending your evening.

We popped in just after 3pm in search of food after having been out walking all day. Unfortunately they had just closed the kitchen. However they kindly offered to make us lunch. The food was lovely and the service second to none!

Spent the week here , clean , nice welcome , good owners live next door. The most tourist info leaflets I’ve ever seen just brilliant. Don’t take dvds or books there’s about 150 of each in the house & some games. Wi if slightly on & off but lovely to have it , a deal breaker for us. Best reception by sofa in dining room by router. Owners dogs is calm ,soppy very cute & lovable.
Kitchen has lots of utensils everything we wanted even a glass jug which we don’t normally find on holidays. Garden lovely sadly we had lots of rain. Grass cut ( past review stated not). Trampoline , hammock , tree house , swings in tree , mini sandpit in tyre & so much more. Sadly everything is left out in all weathers so swing ball was broken. Bats etc all supplied even dustpan/ brush & wet wipes to clean the table tennis table yourself. Games shed had leaves on floor/table chairs outside were distress from weather but sofa inside shed. dampness so pool table is lopsided & slight bent ques but ok for a muck around game. Gym equipment had no instructions we couldn’t work out how to use arm lifting weigh machine. Although more gym equipment has been added since photos taken. Slight mishap from the owners family but once we enquired all was explained. Won’t write more on as it’s private for the family. House is massive but you may want to take slippers downstairs is titled floors & bedroom / bathroom can get a little cold. Lovely childs room and big floor beanbag. Loved the house/gardens recommend.

The service was good. Friendly staff. We came here based on a recommendation however the food was awful. All four meals were over cooked extremely bland and basic. The deep fried items tasted as though the oil had been used for a long time, my pie was burnt so instead of rectifying this it was sent out upside down in the hope I would not notice. I was offered some gravy when I said that the pie was dry. I of course did not fancy gravy with salad! This meal was not cheap either.
We will not be visiting again.

We had a birthday celebration here on a Thursday evening and were lucky that it was a quiet night so we didn't disturb others when "singing " happy birthday. The service was friendly and helpful and everyone's food was delicious with very generous portions. They provided a knife and plates for the cake we brought and serviettes for guests to take cake home. A lovely evening.
