Put into bedroom with no windows nor any air conditioning, damp mouldy smell from bathroom. Heated by wood stove! Recipe for disaster, no idea how it passed OH&S.. Woken every half hour by a compressor or generator behind the wall. Mattress very hard with hard uneven springs, very bad for back. Worst hotel room I have ever stayed in, apart... More

The staff at the Grove were outstanding , nothing was to much trouble for any of them - and they were very i formative . We were a group of 10 walkers , talkers and drinkers - the Grove was ideal for us . The food was good and the rooms adequate , all in all a lovely weekend

Sadly stayed for only one night as an anniversary treat for ourselves. The staff were fantastic we had such a warm and friendly welcome, the hotel though old was very well appointed, warm and comfortable and as for the dinner and breakfast it would be hard to beat. The fish pie I had for dinner was superb as was my wife's... More

We have just stayed one night at The Grove. Very pleasant hotel, in a lovely location. This was our second visit. Room clean, tidy and well equipped. Evening meal was very tasty. Several menu items not available, but there was still plenty of choice. Staff were helpful and smiley. Breakfast was ok. Have had better, but certainly had a lot... More

A comfortable hotel with nice rooms. The restaurant had a good menu choice and the quality was very good. Unfortunately, the wait to be served in the evenings was very long indeed and service finishes at 8 p.m. which is extraordinarily early, so we tended to eat elsewhere. The staff are very good though.

Stayed one night. Greeted by Bob friendly bartender / check in. Shown to good size room on second floor. Bed and bath room were spotless. Twin beds could have been firmer for us. Good WI-FI . Shower was high tub combo which could be hard to get into for anyone with mobility problems. Plenty of free parking on site. Short... More

Would return to this hotel. Although the rooms were a bit tired and in need of a freshen up, they were clean and spacious. Evening meals were very good and the cooked breakfasts excellent, although there was little in the way of cold buffet for those who do not like cooked breakfast. The staff were very warm, friendly and helpful.... More

We've just returned from 6 nights staying at the Grove Hotel with our one year old. From the outset the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was a good size, clean and had everything we needed and the hotel was in a great location. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were always happy to cater for whatever you wanted.... More
