Arriving after the late evening ferry, this Premier Inn was very hard to find as it didn't have the lit up premier inn signage you'd normally find. Whether because it is in a quiet area, or because it hasn't yet been added, please please please its needed! We ended up going down a narrow one car width lane with grass in the middle. Only to find two other cars at the bottom who had done the same thing. All trying to turn round!

Eventually stressed and tired we finally found St David's Premier Inn (the welcome to St David's sign is right outside). Staff were just changing over for the nightshift starting at 11pm so although staff weren't at the desk when we arrived, Michelle soon appeared and welcomed us with a friendly smile. Thank you Michelle.

After checking in and heading to our room, we found it to be quiet with full length black out curtains. We needed a good sleep before continuing with a long journey the following day. Only 1 coffee sachet/tea bag per person but I am assuming they would give more on request. The room was larger that the usual premier inn. Maybe a bonus if you had a small child who needed space.

A bath with two shower overhead options which is a bonus, as all new premier inns seem to have shower options only.

We didn't have breakfast as was told on arrival it was fully booked. They did try to fit us in but not at a time that suited us. On leaving though the restaurant only had two tables dining, which was a but confusing and also the restaurant looks far too small for the size of the hotel.

Carparking looked secure and there was a good number of spaces available.

Despite booking a few weeks ahead it was expensive at £101.00 for a double room for the night. We needed somewhere close to Fishguard Ferry and the other nearest Premier Inn options are now beginning to be very tired and worn.

We had a wedding to attend in St David's and the location of the hotel was great only a 10 minutes walk into the centre. We travelled down quite late and we'd already informed the hotel we wouldn't be there until the early hours which they said was absolutely fine and noted it on the system. On arrival the gentleman on reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming despite it being 2AM! He had sorted our rooms out for us already so all we had to do was type our numberplate in and head to the rooms for some well needed sleep. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The next morning we had the continental breakfast which was great. No hassle that we hadn't pre booked and paid for it there and then. My partner informed the waitress of her gluten intolerance when asked if we had any allergies or intolerances. The waitress was very knowledgeable and re set the table to ensure there had been no cross contamination and provided an allergen menu which was easy to read through. Cooked breakfast was made to order so we had our order taking and a fresh cooked breakfast delivered to the table which was tasty. We didn't plan to eat at the hotel in the evening but due to issues at the place we planned to eat at we went back to the hotel. Staff again were great they booked us in and even though we knew the kitchen closed around 8:30pm we weren't rushed. Again very understanding of my partners gluten intolerance. Food was tasty and had no issues whatsoever. We were served by Megan K who was very friendly and offered great customer service. We opted to go for the meal deal where we could get the 2 course evening meal with a drink and breakfast the next morning for around £24.99 again this was easy and straightforward to sort out. Other restaurant/bar staff that night were Amber, Harvey and Chris who were all great. Breakfast the next morning was again great the only difference was it was self serve on the cooked breakfast but this didn't diminish the quality. Overall we had an excellent stay and I would highly recommend staying here! All the staff were lovely. It's just a shame I didn't catch the name of the gentleman on reception when we arrived or the waitress who served us breakfast on the first morning so we could give them a shout out as well!

This hotel only opened in February this year so it has a very clean and shiny feel about it, quite confidence inspiring in these extra hygienic times that we live in. We are big fans of Premier Inns and this has been one of our favourites. Having an open plan reception area with a bar and integrated restaurant made it very visually welcoming and the guys on overnight reception duty were super friendly and got us checked in almost without us noticing it as we were too busy chatting about the area and the hotel. The room seemed bigger than any other we've stayed at and the beds comfortable.
We had dinner the following night at the restaurant and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Jodie and Tanya and Poppy fulfilled their roles perfectly and made sure that we had everything we needed, we were particularly taken with Toby who was our main server and an utter delight.
The food was of course standard Premier Fare with acceptable vegan options for me and trad British for my friend.
Love the design and layout of the new building, but really, it's the people that make an experience enjoyable, they are the extra something that leaves a lovely fragrance in our memories. The staff at St David's Premier Inn have achieved exactly that.

The hotel is in a great location, just on the edge of St. David’s, there is a small supermarket just down the road. The hotel is new, opened early 2022, so the rooms are of a good standard. Ours had a Bath with a shower over it. Power points both sides of the bed. The restaurant is good, with a menu of burgers, steak, fish and chips etc. which had all been nicely cooked. The only downside of the hotel was the breakfast arrangements. If you want a booth, make sure you request one when booking (you have to book a time slot) otherwise they will not allow you to use one, even though the booths are likely to be unused throughout the entire time you are eating breakfast!! It is obviously beyond the blonde waitress that’s been on duty in the mornings this week to be able to manage allowing someone to have breakfast and then clear the table before the next guest arrives! We have eaten here every morning for the last nine days and on every occasion the restaurant has been very quiet, (we eat early) so it would have been absolutely no problem for us to use a booth, but no, they were apparently booked by the invisible guests!!!! Depending on who you get at the desk when booking your breakfast, you may have to pay up front, as the hotel has apparently had issues with guests having breakfast then leaving without paying. Make sure you ask whether it’s buffet or table service for your cooked breakfast, as that seems to randomly change with the wind. Apart from the issue with ‘booking a booth’, a waitress that if she moved any slower would have stopped (you will see which one I mean !) no sausages for two days (supply problem) and the Coffee machine being out of order for the last four days, the breakfasts are actually very good. Overall the hotel staff have been very pleasant and helpful, the rooms are clean and well presented and the location is great. One last thing, the bar doesn’t open until 6:00pm, the same time as the restaurant. It was only the breakfast issues that dragged my rating down to three stars.

My wife and I stayed at the property for one night away in Winter as we normally visit St Davids in the summer in our caravan.

The hotel is very modern and clean, as its still quite new it really helps.

The room was 130, it was on the first floor over looking the car park. It was very clean, modern and the beds very comfortable.

The breakfast is good value for money and you would do well to find a breakfast as good as that for the price in St Davids, especially out of season.

The location is good, a 5 minute walk into the city, probably a 20 min walk to Caerfai bay beach.

We have already booked for New Years.

We stayed last week for five days. Great location, great room, great sleep.
However, we were not told about requesting room service and after four days asked why to be told we had to ask. There was an A4 notice in reception. I mentioned I’d never seen it and the girl said “I’ve only just turned it round.”

We pre booked an evening meal and breakfast on our second day. Quite disappointed with having to be restricted to time slots as we like to lie in and play it by ear on holiday.
We were directed at breakfast to a table quite high up with bar stools that were really hard and high up. My husband has just had major surgery on his back. We struggled to sit on these and asked to be moved to an empty table as it was empty at 8.30 am. I was kindly moved but had to eat quickly as the table was needed after 45 minutes.
Breakfast was a good selection for me as I have dietary requirements.

The evening meal
We had to wait ages to be seated by a pleasant young man but he appeared to be quite socially awkward and he was alone most of the time.
We asked for water and it took ages to arrive. Our wine arrived eventually and this young lad was sauntering around not looking like he had a clue. We eventually asked him to take our order. Piri piri chicken and chicken tikka. Ten minutes later he returned to say we couldn’t have both meals as no rice or naan. I had to choose lasagne in the end which I cannot eat due to dietary requirements.
If we hadn’t pre paid I would have left.
We were also charged for the free drink with meal.
We decided to have a drink at the bar.
I ordered Sauvignon - no cold available so I ordered Pinot - only warm available. I agreed to this with ice in. The bar man didn’t have enough for a glass so ran to the cellar. On his return he said “sorry we have run out of these!” I chose Rose in the end!!!
No white wine at all??
Very disappointed
Ditch the bar stools you can seat as many people on low level tables

Many positives - new, clean hotel, comfortable beds etc. Excellent location. Free parking. Stayed a week. Good to be able to walk into St David's to eat/have a drink without having to take the car/find parking.
The Cross Hotel was a good place to eat, as was Grain the pizza courtyard restaurant. Both were excellent for Gluten Free diet.
Location of this Premier Inn is also an excellent base for Solva, Whitesands beach (only 10 mins up the road by car), Porthgain, coastal walks etc, Fishguard.
Although we enjoyed our holiday, this was the worst guest experience we've had at a Premier Inn. It is not yet up to scratch in terms of guest experience and seems constrained by lack of staff training. Many comments made in other reviews ring true. We had breakfast on 6 consecutive days and sat right next to the staff podium for seat allocation, thus overheard many exchanges with guests. Even though guests had booked breakfast they were told no tables were available, although only a few tables were occupied. That said, the restaurant is very small for the size of the hotel and the breakfast serving area the same size as a home kitchen! Staff were not trained in terms of what to say or how to say it and often came across as very blunt and not customer focused at all. At times, it was chaotic. Breakfast supplies were often limited. No one took any proactive steps to monitor/refill fruit, bread, juices etc, most days it just looked like remnants at the end of service when this was only 9am. When top ups of eg juice were requested, you had to wait ages for this to emerge from the kitchen. The cooked breakfast was very nice but again lack of proactivity in the kitchen was a surprise. One chef would only start cooking extra when all of that item had run out. One guest was told that as the hash browns took 20 mins to cook and there was only 20 mins of breakfast service left, that that was not possible! I waited 15 mins for eggs on day. You needed to keep popping up to the hatch to time it right to get all your breakfast items warm on one plate at the same time. One guest was told that they could not have hot chocolate because that was made on an individual basis and there was no-one in the kitchen qualified to make it! Staff were unable to advise on what was gluten free at breakfast other than they could have gf bread. In fact, all of the cooked breakfast (other than sausages) is gf.
I think it is great that the 'shy' young man is working there, but he was unsupported and needs supportive guidance and all staff need significantly more training to make this hotel the success it deserves to be.

I stayed for a week as part of a tour. The room itself was very quiet and comfortable with a good shower.
Service in the restaurant was very slow with a big group, and the coffee machine didn't work for the first four days. Having to pay extra for good wifi, and request the room to be serviced wasn't great. If a hotel is not automatically serviced daily, a loo brush and cleaning cloth should be provided.

After seeing the prices of air bnb properties and hotels I didn’t want to spend £400-£600 for a weekend away, seeing the Premier Inn was a 10-15 min walk from the shops and cathedral it was perfect. The room was great, breakfast was spot on and the young lady looking after us at breakfast worked very hard to please everyone and made sure we had everything we needed. She deserves some recognition and a bonus for the Saturday morning as it was very busy. Maybe another staff member would have helped too!

We stayed for 3 nights recently, the hotel room was lovely and comfortable, the issues we experienced were at breakfast, basically it should of been all you can eat!! However the food was basically not replenished very little choice, simple things eg yogurt not available or fruit selection and no orange juice, I asked for a yogurt and orange juice which took approximately 10 minutes to arrive, there was no cooked breakfast available and a queue had formed with members of staff also waiting for their breakfast as well, I did feel sorry for the cook who felt under pressure as people were looking at her while trying to prepare the food.

We then booked dinner, we ordered this at 20:30 and it finally arrived at 22:00, the fish and chips were really nice, however the bread looked as if it had been defrosted and was slightly crispy the butter packs on opening were like oil.

Breakfast on day 2 was non existent again as above very little choice possibly through lack of experience and enough preparation time to replenish items.

Dinner day 2 we booked a table for 20:30 we placed our order only one hour later the waitress came to say they had run out and could we look at the menu again!! the chef seemed to be front of house a lot talking to people, our dinner finally arrived at 22:25 but once again was okayish could of been hotter!!

Basically this is a NEW hotel with very young inexperienced staff, needing a lot of guidance, I think once staff has had time to settle in to their roles and provided with more guidance and support things should run far more smoothly.

On our day of departing there was a very smiley faced possibly manager who said good morning and was checking areas.

St Davids is such a lovely place and I am sure that this premier Inn will reach a higher rating when all staff have been trained, guided and bonded.

I would return again as the location and the rooms were very comfortable, however would re consider booking the breakfast and dinner option again due to the issues, there are plenty of lovely places to eat locally especially The Bishop at the square in St Davids the food and drink was excellent.

My rating would of been higher if the food had been better.

It is well worth a visit to use as your base.
