Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an exceptional property in a lovely little town. We’ve been staying at guest houses all through Wales and this is by far the nicest one (and less expensive than many of them). So many nice touches. The bedding, the fluffy towels and robes, stocked tea, coffee, and snacks in the room, an honor bar, a large common room, and the property itself is just beautiful.

One of those places you just want to keep to yourself and it was just ourselves there overnight. A beautiful hotel with a stunning room and a great continental breakfast to start the day. If you want a chance to let yourself in through the front door, explore and wander around the building and grounds relax in a lounge with an honesty bar this is perfect. There are no staff overnight and the guests are left to themselves to enjoy the surroundings. Very comfy and cosy bedroom with lots of beautiful touches and a stunning bathroom. As for the breakfast we are so glad we didn’t take the option to go up the road for the full Welsh breakfast. The continental option was fabulous. A great selection and we were amazed that it was only for the two of us. Highly impressive. Can’t wait to return

Lovely quiet setting. At times we thought we were the only people there. Easy walking into the city and good position to walk to coastal path (30min). Everything was clean and looked as if it was almost new. The Ravens room on the second floor was a great size and the calm music on entry set the atmosphere for this great stay. Great continental breakfast and very helpful and friendly staff. We would definitely go back and hopefully the sun will shine even longer! Well done and thanks.

Wonderful location and very nice breakfasts. The Court room, I think that was the name of our room, was excellent. It was the upstairs part of the satellite building. Staff was very pleasant. Easy stroll into the "city" and a beautiful walk to the coast.

A beautiful hotel, everything we expected and much more. Luxury fittings in a historic and beautiful building set in a wonderful garden. 5 minutes from the sister hotel which was a great place for dinner. Coming from Australia I was so pleased to find this gem with so little previous knowledge of the area. And reasonably priced for such a great hotel. Friendly and helpful staff as well.

We stayed at Penrhiw Priory for our wedding anniversary, and it was amazing. The staff had left us a bottle of Prosecco and rose petals on the bed, which was incredibly thoughtful, everyone was so helpful and kind. We stayed on the top floor of the coachhouse, it’s beautifully decorated and cosy but not small. The bed is so comfortable, and the blinds over the velux windows help ensure the room is dark at night, it’s also private and slightly away from the main house. The continental breakfast was delicious, pastries are served fresh and still warm, with a nice selection of cereals, local cheeses and cured meats too. The priory is in the prefect location, the drive to both St David’s and the beach takes a few minutes at most, the grounds around the priory are also lovely to spend the day in. Thank you to everyone for such a wonderful star, we cannot wait to come back x

A little outside St David’s this is a very peaceful and well appointed old building with friendly staff, a beautiful room and a good breakfast. Parking was behind gates. Continental breakfast was substantial and delicious. The honesty bar was well provisioned.

Just an amazing hotel in an amazing setting. Room was spacious, well appointed and had an amazing bathroom with a shower and free-standing bathtub. Classy, elegant and peaceful. Breakfast was great as well. The grounds are beautiful and quiet and you will be able to see many many stars at night! The only drawback at all would be having to pick up keys at their “sister” hotel 5 mins away.

Absolutely wonderful! We could not have chosen a better place to unwind, reflect, reset and connect! My wife and i chose to celebrate our 7 year anniversary at The Penrhiw Priory. A wonderful 8 room hotel with a beautiful lounge/sitting area to relax, talk and unwind. We managed to do some excellent brainstorming for our business, and sometimes you need a peaceful place to do. This part of the country, St Davids, is beautiful and our choice for dinner was the Bishops pub, a wonderful place with great staff and outstanding food. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

We can’t praise this place enough. Rooms were very clean and comfortable with a very generous and well equipped bathroom. We found the continental breakfast to be very generous and we’re happy to have this all three mornings we were there. The staff were friendly and helpful, thank you to Allison and Kim for your advice on where to go. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
