We really enjoyed our stay at the St David's Cross Hotel. Our small group of walking friends stayed there for 6 nights and we ate there each evening.
The rooms are of a good size, clean, quiet and well-appointed, and they seem to have been recently refurbished. The mattress was very comfortable and the shower was good. There were lots of little touches, which all contributed to making the stay particularly pleasant e.g. plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe. There were good-quality toiletries, real biscuits (not those wafer-type chemical compositions you often get) and complimentary bottled water in glass bottles, all of which were replenished daily, not just provided on arrival. There was also a shoe shine pad and a sewing kit.
The hotel offers a good variety of cooked and cold breakfasts and it was great that we could pre-order just a sandwich or a full packed lunch for our walks.
All the food on the dinner menu was freshly made and most days there was also a special on the board. Coffee and a daily homemade cake were available each afternoon.
Any minor issues and all our requests were responded to quickly, flexibly and professionally. Indeed, the customer service really was second to none, particularly by manager Tracey and another Tracey (duty manager and waitress), both of whom are highly efficient, experienced in hospitality and keen to ensure that all the hotel’s guests are happy and have a very positive experience. A special shout-out also goes out to Inna and Ivo, though actually all the staff were really good.
The hotel is ideally located in the centre of St David’s, just a few minutes’ walk from the cathedral and Bishop’s Palace. For walkers it is the perfect base, as the coastal path is within a mile of the hotel and the whole St David’s peninsula, with its many beautiful bays, chapels and other sights, is easily accessible from there.
We would certainly recommend this hotel as a base for walkers and other visitors, and we definitely plan to return on a future holiday.

My sister, partner and I had a wonderful Christmas stay at the St.Davids Cross Hotel . The staff were friendly, very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything that you could possibly need, tea making facilities, toiletries, iron and board, water, shoe polish cloth, spare razor, tooth brush etc. Our two small dogs were with us and they were also treated extremely well, given water in the bar, there were biscuits in the room and at reception and a special doggy gift on the table on Christmas Day. We ate dinner there on Christmas Eve and Boxing day , both meals were really enjoyable and the Christmas Day lunch was excellent, couldn't have eaten another thing all day and such wonderful value for money. We most certainly recommend this hotel and would like to thank the management and staff for making us all so welcome and for such a lovely Christmas, we will certainly be visiting again.

We have been staying at the cross for over 20 years. Now introducing the younger cohort to one of our favourite hotels. The Cross is just a great and easy place to stay. Free parking with EV points take you to the most wonderful reception lady whose now in her 20th year. The hotel has a public bar and guest lounge. The bar is well stocked by good staff. Booking advisable as tables fill up and remain that way. Great selection of beers and gins and other drinks. A wide selection of coffees as well. The hotel has a restaurant and bar ( both selling the same food) and you can get everything from sandwiches, fish and chips, burgers, steaks, fish and specials. Staff are attentive and friendly. Breakfast is amazing with a great selection that includes full Welsh, pancakes, continental etc etc Rooms are traditional and comfortable ( beds, pillows and sheets especially so). We all slept really well. The venue has a central beer garden ( dog friendly) with a well looked after garden path. The location for St David’s itself Is unbeatable and literally opposite the central cross. A lovely hotel for a relaxing break where you don’t have to work hard to do anything- it’s all there. The surrounding area has a sprinkling of gallery and surf shops. A Deli, ice cream and coffee shop- pharmacy and pubs. There is a supermarket within walking distance and of course The Cathedral and Nons church an easy half mile walk ( coastal) Perfect place to stay and excellent Wi-Fi !

Lovely hotel right in the square of St David’s Made very welcome by staff, checked that the room would be suitable for us (as husband has poor mobility) Room at front, very clean, good hairdryer, bed comfortable, bottles of water, little extras and tea tray well stocked, with jugs of fresh milk in fridge on landing. Bathroom with shower was compact clean and well stocked with shampoos, shower gels, dental kits etc. car parking on site. Bar area nice with well stocked bar. Breakfast was the best part of our stay. Full Welsh breakfast was ‘lush’ freshly cooked, tasty and filling, other options available as well as selection of cereals, fruits, yogurts and croissants. We have stayed a few times and will definitely be returning. All staff were friendly and welcoming.

We were greeted by very welcoming friendly staff. Lovely location with its own car park. Shown to room 11 which over looks the pretty front garden. Good sound proofed windows. But if your a light sleeper or need ab early night, this room is not for you as you are directly over the bar area. Fortunately by 11pm its quiet until the cleaners move the furniture to clean the floors in the morning. This would be easily remedied with something under the charges, therefore stopping the horrendous scrapping noises. The room is self is nice, it has everything you need and the bed is comfy. The bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel but its clean. Just another niggle here, no where to put towels, we did wonder why they were on the bed. This too could be easily remedied with a towel rail to the right of the basin, there is room. Hanging towels on a coat hook doesn't work. Food in the restaurant is lovely, it's worth booking. Breakfast too was good, with a great selection.

dated bathroom, room without charm and poorly soundproofed, very average breakfast (even the coffee is made yourself in a machine and the fruit salad is mostly a slightly moldy apple salad). All for a very high price. Better to search accommodation on Fishguard and come to St Davids for the day. This is what most tourists do.

I booked for three nights and wish it had been longer. Centrally located hotel with pretty garden. Comfortable room equipped with mugs, kettle, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/UHT milk pots (but fresh milk in mini-bottles was available daily from a fridge on the landing) and hairdrier. Good bed too. Plenty of white fluffy towels - and you could also ask reception for a beach towel. Bathroom had complimentary shampoo, soap and shower gel and efficient towel rail. Lovely quiet room, with proper fully-opening windows and window locks, and more than enough cupboard and wardrobe space. Adequate car parking spaces. There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and everything was cooked and presented very well, and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention for Jade who was very helpful, but everyone seemed able and willing to assist at all times.

We were welcomed at reception and our bags were taken to our room which was up two flights of stairs overlooking the cross and square. The room was spotless and heated by an electric fire which we needed as it was a cold beginning of November. The room was quite spacious and very quiet. We noticed that the room had not been cleaned on the second day but, when I pointed this out the manager explained the difficulties due to covid restrictions and the following day this was put right. The breakfast was quite adequate and we would be happy to stay here again. The bed was very comfortable!

We had 2 rooms, a triple and a single, for a night in August, It was a welcome haven in a bustling tourist town and meant we could go out and wander around the delightful Cathedral area in the quiet of the evening and early morning, which felt like a real privelege. The hotel has excellent parking which was also very useful and surprisingly included several electric charging points. The rooms were very comfy and I really enjoyed my single which did not feel boxy and had everything to hand. It was much nicer than the photos showed and had a very good bathroom. We had an excellent evening meal which we all enjoyed and an excellent breakfast. The best place we stayed in Wales and I would travel to the area again specifically to stay in this hotel. I would feel very happy there asa solo traveller too.

Just returned from a couple of nights at the Cross Hotel. Stayed in a lovely room looking over the cross in the centre. Breakfast was great, with a continental self service and table orders taken for cooked options. Everything was delicious and well cooked. The staff were incredibly helpful and very welcoming. It is a brilliant place to stay and St David’s is just charming. Dog friendly which is always a bonus and my room was able to accommodate an extra large dog crate.
