Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed over for 2 nights at start of October 2023. Cannot fault any of it. On site parking next to hotel, easy check in, lovely clean rooms, breakfasts were lovely with plenty of choices. Evening meals were also tasty with plenty of choices. The staff were all fabulous - we will definitely be back.b

St. David's is a charming little town on the Wales' coast. The hotel is in the heart of the town. Our room was a little small and unfortunately we had to navigate a number of stairs to get back and forth to reception. However, we had to check out early because we'd had had some car problems and the receptionist went out of her way to help us. The breakfast was quite tasty.

We booked a table for two plus a dog. Very friendly staff and great service. The food was very good, we ordered the chicken wings, squid and burgers. They welcome your furry friend with a bowl of water and even have a delicious doggy snacks selection at the bar. Would highly recommend. Book a table as very busy even out of season.

Just stayed the one night for our anniversary. St Davids Cross Hotel was perfect for a visit to the amazing Cathedral as it is literally across the road from the walk down to the main entrance. Not sure I'd visit again in August because St Davids was literally awash with tourists, there were queues for many takeaways and people spilling out from the pavements into the narrow roads. It was much nicer in the evening when a lot of the day trippers had disappeared. Having said that, we parked easily in the hotel car park which is to the right of the main entrance. The girls on reception were very helpful, same in the bar/restaurant and breakfast the next morning. Our room was extremely comfortable, clean and quiet overlooking the car park. We had dinner there in the evening which was fine and we noticed all the other pubs were very busy or booked up completely. Breakfast was served in a different room at the back of the hotel and was very nice.

Stayed here for 1 night on our round south Wales road trip We were greeted warmly and went to our room on the first floor. Room was quite compact but was fine for a one night stay and was clean and quiet. Fresh milk was available from a fridge on the landing (though it did run out later in the evening and had not been topped up by the time we checked out the following morning ) and plenty of tea and coffee. The bathroom had a bath (lovely for aching legs as we'd been walking for much of the day!) and a very strong shower over. Some nice toiletries were supplied and the heated and lit mirror was a nice touch. The four pillows were of varying quality, one was very nice but the others were hard slabs of flattened foam, not very good and suggest they look at replacing them There are 2 EV charging devices with 2 chargers each (use your own cable) but we had trouble getting them to work. We weren't desperate to use them however but brought it to attention of the guy checking us in and said he'd be happy to help sort it as they could be problematic. Onto dinner: you have to order everything at the bar, all food and drinks so have to keep queuing up all the time. I can't understand all the rave reviews though perhaps we caught them on a bad day. Mr D's peri chicken burger tasted OK but the whole lot was so soggy and the bun so flimsy it completely fell apart when he tried to eat it. I had the Thai green chicken curry which had plenty of spice but tasted of little else and was very watery. Choosing the chicken option meant a few strips of chicken fillets from a supermarket deli pack just laid on top of the sauce. Decided to order the key lime pie for pudding but got a very soggy biscuit base (water was seeping out of it) with a sort of packet synthetic tasting grainy mousse/cheesecake topping. Tasted awful so I left it. Even the vanilla ice cream tasted of nothing certainly no evidence of vanilla. We thought the hotel itself offered very good value for money and were mainly happy with our stay but the main reason for not giving the hotel 4.5-5/5 is their dog policy. It's a dog friendly establishment which we knew about when booking but it seems dogs are allowed in the breakfast room which is not what's stated on the website: "Dogs are welcome in the garden and in the bar and lounge areas but not in the restaurant." We assumed that meant they are not allowed in areas where food is served. Breakfast is taken in the breakfast room so guests have no option to choose where to eat but it seems dogs are allowed in here too. During breakfast there were 2 sets of dogs (2 were at the table next to us) that took a dislike to each other and made their feelings known very loudly several times during our time in there and made me so anxious I couldn't get out quick enough. I brought it to the attention of the lady at checkout and she confirmed they ARE allowed so not as per the website After our overall experience and despite offering very good value accommodation I'm afraid we wouldn't recommend unless you like dogs barking and growling around you at the breakfast table or poor quality evening meals.

Whilst staying in the area for a few days we visited the hotel twice ; once for lunch and then for dinner. Sandwiches for lunch were delicious and dinner the same. The Caesar salad we chose for dinner was the best we ever had. Staff were polite and friendly. Would definitely return if in the area and highly recommend the venue.
