Big Barn Camping and Glamping is a small eco friendly campsite, close to the local beach at Pendine Sands. With two fantastic Stargazing Glamping Domes and eleven camping pitches and three little barn pods the site is small friendly and nice and quiet. The camping paddock is situated next to the big Dutch barn which houses all the campsite facilities. Each pitch is individually cut with plenty of space between pitches. The three pods and one dome overlook stunning views of the Carmarthenshire countryside and the second dome is situated in its own private exclusive felid next to a wood, with its own toilet and showering facilitates. A great little campsite that caters for anyone wanting a nice relaxing break away.

Another fantastic stay at Big Barn Camping. We stayed in the new dome located in the Woodside camp area. It was extremely comfortable with lots of room for the whole family to sleep and to be indoors if it rains. The dome is decorated very nicely with a comfy bed and a seating area looking out at the field. The separate undercover kitchen is perfect for cooking in and the hot water for both washing up and the outdoor shower are an absolute luxury. As always the location is beautiful - birds, bats, butterflies, a running stream, a log swing, baby goats, big pigs, ducks - what more could you want for a family holiday?

Stayed on the campsite 4 nights with friends, very spacious layout even with the place fully booked it never felt like it was too busy. Cars are kept off the tent pitches (after unloading) which makes for a very peaceful campsite. Simple facilities but well thought out, picnic bench and firepit on each pitch included at no extra charge is a nice bonus.

Honesty shop for logs, biscuits, toothbrush, extra tent pegs etc so you don't have to stress about finding a shop for something you might have forgotten. Michael was always about checking people in or cleaning toilets and the like and happy to chat - ask about the secret beach if you don't need any facilities. We were just happy sitting in a field catching up with friends after Covid so didn't venture out much to local attractions but there were a few leaflets in the Big Barn for nearby attractions if you're looking for things to do.

Big Barn has been the perfect place to reconnect with my 8 year old son before he heads back to school and also to reconnect with nature having worked all through lockdown. Being a single mum and this being our first little adventure without friends, using the facilities were stress free in terms of their cleanliness and eco design, and when using the facilities we always felt safe and secure and in good company. Michael and his pets were welcoming and approachable and it was comforting to know if we had any issues Michael was there to help. Definitely going back next year and I highly recommend this place to all single parents who are a little bit apprehensive going camping alone with their kids.

We camped with our grown children - haven’t been camping since they were young - and chose the perfect site for it. The individual pitches were very generously spaced apart, giving every camper a sense of privacy. The area was designed with much thought and consideration to ensure a great camping experience whilst respecting the environment. We loved that we could have our own fire pit which is all available onsite and our host, Michael was very friendly and helpful; ever present to provide us with any queries, concerns or local information. One of the best campsites we’ve stayed on, and we’ve used many nationwide. Laugharne just 5 minutes drive away with both sophisticated and quaint places to eat. Beautiful beaches all nearby. We recommend a visit!

We camped on a grass pitch for a weekend in July this year and the whole setup was basically perfect. The pitches are well spaced and the long meadow grass is mown to create good sized pitches. The pathways between pitches and to the facilities provided lots of fun for our children and the lack of cars on the site made it safe.

Michael (the owner) has created great facilities on site and there is a real charm about the place.

We enjoy quiet campsites where campfires are permitted and peace and quiet abounds - this is exactly what Michael has created.

The location worked for us - easy access to good beaches and castles.

Michael is a great host and welcomed us to look around his working farm, meet his animals, and furnished us with good local knowledge.

We're already talking about how soon we can get back to Big Barn.

Absolutely loved our visit to Big Barn camping! What a hidden gem! Generous round and well spaced pitches, compost toilets, hot showers and drinking water on tap close to the pitch areas. All pitches have their own bench to use too. Amazing views all around. Stargazing is a must if you're lucky enough to get clear skies. Michael, the owner, gave us a very warm welcome on arrival and was always on hand to speak to if anything needed. Fire pits available with logs and kindling available to purchase. Only gutted we didn't know about the rope swing. Will Definitely return to stay again!

We absolutely loved Big Barn camping. The location is excellent: incredibly peaceful and rural but really close to local attractions. The pitches are large with wild grasses in between adding to the air of privacy and have a picnic table each which is very handy for mealtimes. As an eco campsite it has compost toilets but these were very clean and easy to use and the showers had loads of hot water. All in all.an excellent family campsite with the added benefit of animals to visit and a great rope swing!

We enjoyed a 6 night stay camping in our own tent and will find it difficult to find campsites that live up to this one! The pitches are so spaced out and the long grasses and saplings between the mown pitches make it really private and peaceful.
Michael was really friendly and helpful, and very conscientious about keeping the site well looked after. We loved having a camp fire every night (fire pits on loan for free and firewood £5).
The composting toilets were kept very clean and didn't smell. The hot water was a little bit hit and miss for showering and washing up but it wasn't a problem. Excellent recycling set up but no general rubbish bins, however we were quite happy to bag up our few non recyclables (mostly crisp packets and juice/milk cartons) and take them home with us.
The kids loved the rope swing and seeing the animals on the farm. The glamping options looked fab too - we plan to return!

We booked here after our original plans of heading abroad we’re cancelled due to Covid.
We have camped before but thought for ease we would use book the Belle Tent. On arrival we were met by Michael who was most welcoming taking us to the tent. This was clean and spacious with added fresh ironed bedding which we paid a small added fee for. I would recommend this definitely for ease and space when travelling.
Throughout the stay we made the most of the local area and visited Folly Farm, Bay to Remember Pendine Sands Tenby Laugharne and local restaurants Arthur’s and Portreeves. The site is perfectly placed for short drives to the amazing beaches in the area. We would recommend all of these without hesitation.
The campsite was all that we expected . Loads of space for the children not overcrowded and with the facilities of the ‘kitchenette’. Michaels animals and the general openness of the place including scenery kept our two happy! We also had a peek at the pods which look great also!!
Michael clearly works very hard at keeping those staying with him happy. He deserves all the luck into the future.

We had a fantastic camping weekend at Big Barn. Michael was a lovely host, so friendly and helpful.
The site was small and quiet, perfect for a holiday with young children.
The pitches were well laid out, we really liked the fact that the meadow was left wild with just the individual pitches mown and there was plenty of space between pitches which was great! Also, having the cars parked off site meant we were confident that the children were safe playing.
The facilities were good with clean, composting toilets, showers and a pot wash. Plus being able to freeze ice packs was really useful.
The children loved lighting the fire in the fire pit every night and toasting marshmallows. We enjoyed taking a look around the farm and seeing all the animals. We had some lovely free range eggs for brunch.
A good location close to the coast too!
We really look forward to visiting again in the future.
