We have just returned from a very peaceful relaxing weekend at The Boathouse and we cannot fault our stay. The room was spotless, the breakfast was delicious especially the amazing eggs and the owners are so friendly and accomodating. Keith and Jane have thought of everything from the great toiletries provided to the comfy pillows, umbrella, iron and kind added touches - a Terry's choc orange for Valentines night!

We loved our stay so much and found it so easy to shut off from work for the weekend that we have booked to go back in April. The Boathouse is special as is Laugharne.

Purple room is very spacious but at the same cosy and warm too.Bathroom spotless and good quality white bed linen slept like a log both evenings. Jane and Keith are exceptional hosts too and nothing is too much trouble for them. Breakfast freshly cooked and delicious and really enjoyed the home made yoghurt and fresh fruit salad. Very central location and parking nearby. Will definitely be back.

Bed and breakfast ideally situated in Laugharne, very welcoming hosts, excellent breakfast including luxurious fruit salad, tomatoes from the garden and home made yoghurt. It was very good to be able to go back and forth to our room during the day with no time constraint. Prefer the 2 bedrooms on the first floor as the rooms on the ground floor are near the entrance door. We had the blue room on the first floor: roomy, comfortable bed, bottled water, tea/coffee/hot chocolate provided, nice towels, excellent shower pressure. We were able to leave our two bicycles inside the house without a problem. Good advice from the hosts on walks/runs and places to eat. Laugharne is a beautiful little town with lots to do, very clean and lots of benches for alfresco picnics and take aways eating. For the price of 90£ it is impossible to get better. My only small complaint? Keith and Jane wore a mask + gloves when serving us breakfast but not when they were moving around the house/corridor/reception desk. With Covid around this does not seem reasonable. But thank you for leaving hand gel and lingettes on the reception desk at all times. Very useful.

Hotel location is dead centre of this beautiful town. Parking is either behind hotel or across the street in castle car park, which is free. Entrance reception is clean & welcoming, as are the hosts. We stayed in the Purple Room which is downstairs at the front of the hotel. The room is spacious & nicely decorated, but had a musty smell of damp & did not have any windows that could open (only 2 small circular vents). The room had all the amenities that you could need & fresh milk could be obtained from the breakfast room fridge which was nice. The bathroom towel rail was not on during our visit so the wet towels may have added to the damp smell in our room. the bed was not made when the bins were emptied, but Im not sure if that is common practice in a B&B.
Breakfast was very good with homemade hash browns, fruit salad & yoghurt. Social distancing between hosts & guests was adhered too. We were also allowed to keep wine in the breakfast room fridge.
The hosts shared their local knowledge on information & restaurants which was very useful.
The location to the castle & local attractions is excellent & it is a lovely spot to sit across the road & view the Taff estuary & castle. But the description of a castle view from the Purple Room is a slight exaggeration though.
A very enjoyable stay, but over priced for what we paid, but this was explained by the size of the room.

We used this as a base to explore South Wales for my birthday weekend and Laugharne offered a tranquil location for an evening stroll at the end of a couple of busy days sightseeing. As the Boathouse B&B is right on the road, the traffic could be heard as you would expect but the beds were very comfortable. We paid an extra £5 each for the cooked breakfasts and the scrambled eggs were delicious. Jane was very welcoming and understanding when I accidentally left a trail of birthday flower petals when we left! A good base.

Two night stay to walk the coast and to visit Laugharne. Pluses: centrally located, easy to find, welcoming owners, parking available, large bed, comfortable, good power shower. Minuses: the room was cold, and although it was late April it there was a very cold east wind blowing, and the heating had been switched off. Needed to wear a fleece in the room. Because of the age of the building - typical Welsh stone built cottage, there was a rather damp feel to the room. The very ample towels which were provided had clearly been freshly laundered and had an attractive clean smell, but a slightly damp feel to them. Plenty of amenities such as hairdryer, ironing board, fresh coffee and fresh milk. The main problem - the rooms seem to be mostly or all on the front of the house, and from about 0600 there is substantial traffic noise from the large lorries which thunder through the village on their way to do pick ups from the gravel quarry which is a mile or two further on towards Pendine. Ear plugs desirable if you want to sleep past this time!

We find your review to be exaggerated, a case of not letting the facts get in the way of the story. The truth is that, far from being "switched off" the heating was on in the mornings, afternoons and evenings during your stay. Each room contains a welcome message from us which concludes "If there are any issues please give us the chance to address them". This means talk to us. We do not know if you are in the room or how hot/cold you are unless you explain. And obviously there is no point moaning about being cold after you have left the property. We wash and condition the towels as you mention, and we do not put them in rooms unless they are dry. As for your comments about traffic, we do not believe that lorries pass by from 0600, from around 0800 would be more accurate. Your stay included a Tuesday morning which is when the dustbins are collected before 0700 which is presumably the cause of your dissatisfaction. I can't apologise for something which is a) beyond my control and b) highly important for public health.

Would highly recommend this lovely B&B. The hosts are really helpful and friendly. They are very dog friendly- even left a doggy towel. The freshly cooked breakfast was very tasty and the location is beautiful.

Stayed for 2 nights at the boathouse b&b with my dog and partner, a great welcome from Jane and Keith on arrival, the rooms were spotless and breakfasts were top class (especially Keith’s homemade yogurt) a very chatty couple which makes staying there all the better , a very relaxing few days away and the town of laugharne was very picturesque. I will definitely recommend the boathouse b&b as it had been recommended to us by friends. Thank you Jane and Keith for the great hospitality I’m sure we’ll return.

What a very pleasant stay we had at The Boat House. We went for a three night stay over last Bank Holiday weekend. We were greeted at the door by Jane and Keith - a lovely warm greeting. We were shown where we would be having breakfast, explaining that tea and coffee facilities were in our room but the fresh milk, we were to help ourselves to out of the mini fridge provided. Upon entering our room (Olive room) we were impressed at how large it was, it was on the front of the building and had a castle view. Jane and Keith were extremely helpful and knowledgeable in advising where to eat and recommended we book as soon as possible due to it being a Bank Holiday. The breakfasts were delicious, all cooked to order, so piping hot when it was served - sausage, bacon, hash browns, egg, tomatoes, mushrooms and beans and toast. That was after the cereal and fruit juice which was available !!! Like I say, a lovely couple, lovely accommodation and all in all a lovely long weekend. No hesitation in recommending The Boat House.
We will be back !! Thank you Jane and Keith.

Really great stay! Jane and Keith were exceptional hosts. The B&B is homely, modern and very clean. The breakfast was excellent with most ingredients local or homemade, our belly's were full everyday. Keith even makes his own yogurt! The boat house is in the perfect location, right opposite the castle, quiet at night with the best sleep i had in a long time. During these times, we felt really safe whilst staying there. Best place to stay and would love to go back. Thank you Jane and Keith.
