We've certainly put the log into log cabin with our bespoke Traditional Estonian log house in the heart of rural mid Wales, set on a working family farm, run by Sarah, Hugh and family. We offer self catering accommodation for 2-4 guests with private hot tub, set in beautiful decking, perfect for star gazing. This is an ideal setting for a romantic escape, family holiday or reunion with friends. A king bedroom ensuite upstairs, double ensuite downstairs plus one twin bedroom and separate shower room. Fully fitted kitchen with open plan dining and lounge area. Upstairs mezzanine level leads to a furnished balcony with countryside views all around. Ground source heating with solar panels gives an eco feel. Plenty of outdoor space for children to play in a safe environment. Short walk to Lover's Lake complete with jetty. Welsh cakes and beds made ready upon your arrival. Carno village offers a well stocked shop and two public houses. Cabins are perfectly located to visit the many delights mid Wales has to offer, sandy beaches, castles, waterfalls, mountains and valleys, shops and of course, sheep! Mountain biking centres nearby.

We had a lovely stay here. No issues whatsoever. The cabin it's self was beautiful and so where the views. Everything was as described and there where some lovely features. The host was extremely responsive and helped us with check in, and local recommendations. Couldn't recommend anymore!! 🙂

Lovely, tranquil weekend spent ar Dwr y Felin. The cabins were stunning and with tranquil settings and scenery. We were instantly relaxed as soon as we arrived. The bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was a lovely place to watch the sheep and stallion during day and sunset and stars at night! Sarah the owner was very flexible as we had to change days and was very hospitable when we met her. Highly recommend. Definitely looking to visit again! Tom and Maria, Cardiff

Such a lovely experience at Dwr Y Felin for my partner's birthday. We stayed in Ty Afal which was beautiful and spacious. Good facilities, comfy bed. The hot tub in particular was absolutely amazing, especially with a clear night sky on a cold February evening, I've never seen stars like it! Something I will remember forever. The sheep and horses in the fields really topped it off, it was nice having a coffee on the terrace in the morning watching them roam around. Lots of nice places to potter around in the day and a few nice eateries for night but to be honest, we preferred cooking in the cabin and chilling out! The local pub was full of friendly locals too. Would go again in a heartbeat!

We've just had the most wonderful stay at Hugh and Sarah's log cabin. This is return visit for us, but the first time with the family. The cabins are located in beautiful countryside with plenty of nature all around. The cabins are stunning! We stayed in Ty Afal. It was very spacious with two double rooms and a twin, all with bathrooms. There is plenty of room for everyone and a fully equipped kitchen. The hot tub was the cherry on the top. We will certainly return.

5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wanted a hot tub break in the middle of nowhere and I got so much more! The lodge itself was set up really well and as a young adult staying on her own, I felt safe. The scenery was breath taking and the ‘room’ was fully kitted. Set up: Arrive at your allocated lodge (there’s 3), open the unlocked door (no need to check in) and enjoy your stay! No person contact outside your party if you don’t need to! When you check out, just leave it as you found it and strip the bed. Booking: Sarah was very responsive and helpful both on email and on the phone. Pay a deposit and then just pay the rest via BACS. Stay: Surrounded by the local wildlife and farm animals you’re never completely alone but the hot tub area is very well covered from your neighbours. Had 2 bathrooms equipped with shower, loo and sink both upstairs and downstairs. Open plan kitchen and living room with dining table. Kitchen is fully kitted minus the food and refreshments. Bedroom is upstairs with an en-suite that leads off from the landing and balcony. Surroundings: There’s a Spar shop on the main road or some cafe’s around the area. As I was driving I visited Lake Vyrnwy and also visited the hotel and spa for a massage. This was an added bonus but would have happily sat in the hot tub all day if the weather didn’t allow a day of exploring. All in all, the stay was a much needed reset button and will definitely be on my to go list again.

After a long year of covid and 2 holidays getting cancelled we decided to get away for a weekend for my birthday. The log Cabin was amazing! The views were beautiful! It was so peaceful and easy to relax (especially in the hot tub or having a nice cup of tea on the balcony) Will definitely be booking again in the future!

Myself and my partner came for a birthday treat to relax and enjoy some time together. The cabins are spotlessly clean and are absolutely stunning! We really were blown away! They are all very secluded and completely peaceful with only the sheep, horses and cow's for company. The views are stunning and the cabin has all you need essential wise. Due to COVID 19 there have been some of the comforts taken away, which is completely understandable so if you are going in the winter months I would suggest maybe taking some throws or outside blankets or big coats if you wish to sit outside with a hot cuppa! We also despite the rain enjoyed the hot tub as we took some big sports umbrellas with us which worked a treat surprisingly enough! We will absolutely be booking to come again in the very near future! For reference we stayed in Tŷ Afal (Apple House) We would also like to Thank Sarah and Hugh for adding the top tops for travelling to the location as it was a great help!

We stayed in the lodge for a long weekend during the covid pandemic for our staycation. The lodge is in a lovely location & the lodge is very pretty and has a great hot tub. Cons: - beds were very uncomfortable & mattress was thin. This appears to of been a problem for several years after reading the reviews. - showers are broken, the water pressure is poor & in the upstairs shower, one of the head can’t be used as the holder is broken. If the showers have been broken for several years, it could be worth replacing them. - only half of the jets are working in the hot tub & again after reading the reviews, this has been the case for a number of years. - back door didn’t lock - the plates looked dirty and scratched - advertised as having a fire pit area but after having a look for it, it was overgrown and dilapidated. You wouldn’t really want to sit there. Pros: - the hot tub is great snd the views from the tub & cabin are breath taking - lovely setting and in a good location to visit parts of wales. - Sarah was a good host and was there on check in and easily reachable via phone - each bedroom having its own bathroom was a luxury - seating area & balcony was a nice feature Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the lodge but we feel it could use some general maintenance & updating to justify the price. After reading previous reviews, the issues we raised seem to be outstanding from previous years.

Thank you for your review. Of course, your comments will be taken on board, and some will be acted upon where we feel necessary. At £43 per person per night, we do feel we offer good value for money. However, as stated on our website, we are not a party venue, therefore we expect all of our guests to be respectful of others staying on site.

Well what can I say about this place? Our favourite staycation in the UK, we’ve been coming for 4 years now and fall in love again every single time. The owners, cabin, views, just everything about this place blows us away every time. Shame we couldn’t visit earlier this year due to the current situation but you’re damn right we’ve booked to visit again in December for our anniversary! Can’t wait ❤️
