We had a lovely stay here. No issues whatsoever. The cabin it's self was beautiful and so where the views. Everything was as described and there where some lovely features. The host was extremely responsive and helped us with check in, and local recommendations. Couldn't recommend anymore!! 🙂

Wanted a hot tub break in the middle of nowhere and I got so much more!
The lodge itself was set up really well and as a young adult staying on her own, I felt safe. The scenery was breath taking and the ‘room’ was fully kitted.
Set up: Arrive at your allocated lodge (there’s 3), open the unlocked door (no need to check in) and enjoy your stay! No person contact outside your party if you don’t need to! When you check out, just leave it as you found it and strip the bed.
Booking: Sarah was very responsive and helpful both on email and on the phone. Pay a deposit and then just pay the rest via BACS.
Stay: Surrounded by the local wildlife and farm animals you’re never completely alone but the hot tub area is very well covered from your neighbours. Had 2 bathrooms equipped with shower, loo and sink both upstairs and downstairs. Open plan kitchen and living room with dining table. Kitchen is fully kitted minus the food and refreshments. Bedroom is upstairs with an en-suite that leads off from the landing and balcony.
Surroundings: There’s a Spar shop on the main road or some cafe’s around the area. As I was driving I visited Lake Vyrnwy and also visited the hotel and spa for a massage. This was an added bonus but would have happily sat in the hot tub all day if the weather didn’t allow a day of exploring.
All in all, the stay was a much needed reset button and will definitely be on my to go list again.

Myself and my partner came for a birthday treat to relax and enjoy some time together. The cabins are spotlessly clean and are absolutely stunning! We really were blown away! They are all very secluded and completely peaceful with only the sheep, horses and cow's for company. The views are stunning and the cabin has all you need essential wise. Due to COVID 19 there have been some of the comforts taken away, which is completely understandable so if you are going in the winter months I would suggest maybe taking some throws or outside blankets or big coats if you wish to sit outside with a hot cuppa! We also despite the rain enjoyed the hot tub as we took some big sports umbrellas with us which worked a treat surprisingly enough! We will absolutely be booking to come again in the very near future! For reference we stayed in Tŷ Afal (Apple House) We would also like to Thank Sarah and Hugh for adding the top tops for travelling to the location as it was a great help!

Thank you very much for this lovely review. We are so pleased you both enjoyed your stay with us. You are absolutely right about covid19 safety protocols, as we have taken away the cushions and fur throws for the time being. We welcome your return. Stay safe. The Humphreys family x

Lovely, tranquil weekend spent ar Dwr y Felin. The cabins were stunning and with tranquil settings and scenery. We were instantly relaxed as soon as we arrived. The bed was very comfortable and the hot tub was a lovely place to watch the sheep and stallion during day and sunset and stars at night! Sarah the owner was very flexible as we had to change days and was very hospitable when we met her. Highly recommend. Definitely looking to visit again! Tom and Maria, Cardiff

Such a lovely experience at Dwr Y Felin for my partner's birthday. We stayed in Ty Afal which was beautiful and spacious. Good facilities, comfy bed. The hot tub in particular was absolutely amazing, especially with a clear night sky on a cold February evening, I've never seen stars like it! Something I will remember forever. The sheep and horses in the fields really topped it off, it was nice having a coffee on the terrace in the morning watching them roam around. Lots of nice places to potter around in the day and a few nice eateries for night but to be honest, we preferred cooking in the cabin and chilling out! The local pub was full of friendly locals too. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Well what can I say about this place? Our favourite staycation in the UK, we’ve been coming for 4 years now and fall in love again every single time. The owners, cabin, views, just everything about this place blows us away every time. Shame we couldn’t visit earlier this year due to the current situation but you’re damn right we’ve booked to visit again in December for our anniversary! Can’t wait ❤️

We've just had the most wonderful stay at Hugh and Sarah's log cabin. This is return visit for us, but the first time with the family. The cabins are located in beautiful countryside with plenty of nature all around. The cabins are stunning! We stayed in Ty Afal. It was very spacious with two double rooms and a twin, all with bathrooms. There is plenty of room for everyone and a fully equipped kitchen. The hot tub was the cherry on the top. We will certainly return.

This was my email to the owners detailing our stay.
I have to say a few things about our stay which has led to an overall underwhelming experience. Don't get me wrong the location and overall charm of the place were outstanding, but the 'luxurious' element was certainly missing from our stay.
When we arrived we had to call you to advise we had arrived, only to find out we'd been moved to Ty Peren, which was fine - we were shown the hot tub and Siwan left.
Website quote:-
"As a family run business, we look forward to welcoming all our guests to our log cabins, and greet everyone personally, showing them around the house upon arrival"
We hadn't even gone into the house. No tour of the house etc.
What's made this element disappointing is that the blog online says we'd be shown around the property and people had some welsh cakes on arrival etc. It was this element of the 'special touch' I was looking for to celebrate our anniversary and birthday. It felt far removed from special at all.
Having spent a few hours at the cabin I decided to cook dinner, however the cooker and hob were out. I called and left a voicemail to let you know, but had no response. We ended up cooking in a throw away bbq as the bbq supplied was horrifically dirty. As the night drew on, we put the lights on, but there were no lights working.
I sent a message to Siwan and she thought the trip might have gone. We checked the box, but nothing had tripped, we reset the box and it was then working. What gets me is that none of this was checked before hand and none of the sockets seemed to work upstairs.
The upstairs bathroom smells vile and also there seems to be a nest of bugs coming in through the far left corner of the bedroom. There's also squashed bugs against the beams - not very nice to see.
The showers downstairs don't have the steam function working (looking at the reviews on trip advisor; it would seem they've been out since at least 2014) and the shower in the hall doesn't even work. There are also cobwebs (in most rooms) and dead flies on a few windowsills.
Onto the hallway, there are no working lights which I find dangerous and completely unacceptable.
The hot tub was lovely, however noting that some of the functions didn't work/jets were broken.
Outside, the upstairs balcony was covered in bird excrement. It would appear to have been there for some time. A bucket of water and a scrubbing brush wouldn't have gone amiss here. Advertising the 'luxurious element' when you have to watch where you put your hands to avoid bird poop was annoying to say the least.
Overall, I have to say I am extremely disappointed with our stay and feel for what we paid, we were expecting an awful lot more - especially after the reviews we'd read. We have literally raved about our stay to so many friends and family; I am not really sure what to say when we see them. They were all interested in a break there. The standard we came to expect, was not delivered.
I have to say, this is our only stay away this year. Hand on heart, I wish we'd done something else.
Genuinely gutted as it was our only break this year. We wouldn't go back despite the owners offering us a discount for our next booking. It's too little too late and feel we were ripped off a bit.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed an dwr u feline cabins after being recommended by a friend. We stayed in ty Peryn. There are 3 cabin all beautifully positioned and although close all are private. The woodwork and making of the cabin is incredible, they're even better in real life, as pictures don't do them the justice they deserve. They're huge, as there were only two of us we felt tiny in this 3 bedroom Cabin. Not out 3 bedrooms there are also pull out beds area so easily fit a large group. 3 bathrooms and showers were also available inside the cabin. They were beautifully clean and offered a great view into the wildlife and farm land. The hot tub was amazing and so relaxing after a long day at some of the neat by beaches. Although about an hours drive they were well worth it and some lovely little villages near by too! Already planning our next visit with friends. Perfect for a relaxing holiday to get away from a bust hustle and bustle of life.

Thanks Sarah, I have to say that our stay was relaxing, and just what was needed after a particularly stressful phase of our lives. The location was beautiful and waking up to the views from the cabin was just what the doctor ordered!
You were wonderfully accommodating even when we added an extra day to our stay, the cabin was lovely and the setting was idyllic. we loved waking up to the animals on the farm. the sheep were amusing and the horses were magnificent, all of which now have our personalised, affectionate names, and a place in our hearts.
I would recommend anyone else staying to take in that view from the cabin at different times in the day as it changes on an hourly basis and is sometimes quite breathtaking!
The local area is quite sparse, you will travel at least 30 minutes to anything outside the village, but it is worth it and I would highly recommend the Hafren Forest walks. Beautiful place and accessible to different degrees to everyone while offering the challenging 'white trail' which wasn't so easy but was very rewarding. Driving there was an... experience though as for us vertically petrified it was quite an ordeal! ha ha!
The cabin was well equipped and surprisingly well secluded considering the proximity of the other two cabins. It is definitely a private spot and a beautifully scenic experience. As a rather poor but willing amateur chef I would have liked a few more utensils in the kitchen and I did end up rolling out my pastry with a can of cider, but that shouldn't reflect on the quality of the accommodation. It was very good.
And, I should probably mention the 'party piece' that is the hot tub. It was absolutely amazing! No matter the sauna inside didn't work, sitting in that hot tub, looking over such a beautiful landscape, with all our nicknamed pets was just lovely!
I would also like to add at this point that after viewing previous reviews about the showers I would wholeheartedly agree with Sarah that the showers are lovely, irrespective of the lack of a sauna.
I do think it should be noted here also that Sarah personally visits each hot tub on a daily basis to make sure its at its optimum operation. That told me a lot about our hosts, and I would recommend this destination to anyone who wants total relaxation or an experience for younger children. I dont think that older children will be amused for long but these cabins are designed for relaxation and peace, and if used in this manner they are as good as any I have been to.
Thank you Sarah, it was lovely. We will be back!... If you will have us! ha ha!

Hello..smoking is permitted on the lawn area, but not on the decking, in the log cabin or anywhere near the hot tub. We also ask that all cigarette ends are put in the outside wheelie bin. Thank you, Sarah
