Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I are on holiday and went into the George and Dragon for lunch and it was so nice we booked up for dinner in the evening. The pub has such a lovely cosy feel but modern at the same time. We couldn't fault the food it was perfectly cooked and well presented. The staff are lovely and went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely time we're just sad it's our last day but we'll definitely be going back when we next stay in Knighton.

Stayed and ate here prior to our Trans Cambrian Mountain bike ride. Very welcoming and clean. Room was lovely and food very well prepared. Overall would definitely recommend. Secure overnight bike storage and close to the railway station.

I had Sunday lunch here with a friend. We both had the roast lamb. The portions were very generous with a large variety of vegetable accompaniments. We both agreed that the roast potatoes were the best we'd ever had. The pub is family run and traditional. Owners and staff were very warm and welcoming. Knighton was a beautiful place to visit with very friendly locals.

26th October 2021. Food was fantastic. There is a separate area for dogs inside the pub which is lovely. All food freshly cooked and homemade. Best food I've had and I'm a very very picky eater. Staff are lovely. Would highly recommend this pub to everyone.

Our room downstairs in the converted stable block was disappointing. It was relatively small and dark. There were no bedside lights and there didn't appear to be any ventilation/extraction in the ensuite shower room. the wifi signal booster was broken so the only access was in the bar area. Dinner in the evening was surprisingly good. Portions were on the generous side and everything was fresh. My wife's lamb shank was particularly good as was my starter of mushrooms in a stilton cream sauce. My rib eye steak probably needed to be rested a little longer to retain its juices otherwise it was fine. We asked for breakfast at 8.30 and when we got to the restaurant there was another couple and a single lady there. We were eventually asked what we would like for breakfast and what we wanted to drink. We placed our order and the coffee came quite quickly however it appeared that the person was alone and couldn't multitask so we didn't get our breakfast until 9.10. Not overly impressed!

Only 1 night for us, we had 3 rooms between me and my cousin as we were in Knighton for a family funeral. It is very well located in the town, very nice conversation of the stables for the B&B rooms. Rooms are different sizes as are the bathrooms but beds were comfy and everything was clean. staff welcoming and breakfast was fab! Literally the cook did whatever we asked for for breakfast, obviously within reason :-) x

I wasn't expecting anything more than your standard pub fare when entering the George & Dragon but boy was I wrong. The Himalayan Lamb curry was one of the best curries I've had. The gammon on the other dishes was thick cut generous portions and the steak pie melt in your mouth with home made chips to boot. Considering there was seven of us dining the dishes all came out cooked to perfection at the same time. Will definitely be visiting again when in the area.
