We booked a night at Bron y Llys on our walk along Glyndwr's Way. What an absolute gem. A lovely welcome after a very windy day's walking, with tea & cake sitting by the woodburner. Then up to our lovely room, with everything we needed to freshen up before the owners provided a really excellent evening meal for us (pre-ordered) in a candlelit dining area. Restaurant quality food, beautifully presented. In the morning, we were offered a mouth-watering choice of breakfast options - we chose the pancakes with bacon, fresh berries and maple syrup! I really can't fault this B&B and would most definitely stay there again.
We have visited hundreds of B and B’s and this is quite exceptional - warm friendly welcome, luxurious room, sitting room with wood burner, delicious food, huge selection of reading materials, . We will be back!
See my previous review...Bron y Llys is an outstanding and unique place. Maya and John are lovely people and they care deeply about the welfare of their guests. The food is DELICIOUS. Great library specialising in wildlife and asttronomy
We traveled to Wales to help a friend seek out some Welch ancestors and booked Born y LLys as our place to stay while in the area. We were absolutely stunned by the fantastic, scenic setting among the rolling hills and sheep covered meadows. This beautifully rugged area seemed an unlikely place to find such an incredible b an b, an its purely five star rating lived up to every accolade. Maya and John have only a few rooms for guests and cater to the many walkers who come to this remote area. The rooms are lovely. We stayed upstairs in a well appointed, spotless room, with homemade shortbread provided as well as means to make coffee or tea. Our friends were in an equally lovely room in an attached building downstairs. The cozy sitting room was a perfect place to sit by the wonderful fire John and Maya built for us, as it was a chilly two days. The included, cooked to order breakfast was phenomenal, as Maya is an excellent cook.Smoked salmon scrambled eggs, local honeys and jams, fresh orange juice...Delicious... We also opted to have her provide us dinner for the two nights we were there, an additional fee, but worth every British Pound as she is a chef, not a cook! Wonderful sea bass, fresh veggies, and a delectible Panetone cake with custard for dessert! Gourmet food! We loved our time with John and Maya who supplied us with maps and tips on getting to nearby towns. This is one B and B well worth finding, and although the directions seem daunting (go past a long row of pine trees, past a horse chestnut tree and find a red post!) we followed them to the letter and after driving through a gate and up a road with charming sheep and spring lambs along the way, we found this idyllic spot we would recommend to anyone. The rooms are difficult to get, as they are often booked, so plan ahead for a wonderful Welch experience,…
We were lucky enough to visit over the summer. Maya and John are incredibly hospitable and have a beautiful home in a stunning location. Greeted with homemade cakes, we enjoyed delicious breakfasts and first class dinner both nights. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to return! A highlight was sitting in the garden room, under cosy blankets watching the sunset after dinner.
