Had very good fish and chips on a Friday evening. Nice log fire in quiet bar. Lovely wooden panelled room. Food and service were both very good. Flashing Christmas lights and rubbish music were a bit annoying and spoilt the atmosphere a bit. However, we will visit again and recommend.

The Radnorshire Arms, Presteigne is a hotel steeped in history. It was built in 1616, (although it probably existed in some form before this date) has secret rooms, a Priest's hole, enormous original beams and oak panelled rooms and some slopping floors. There is even a copy of the death certificate of Charles I signed by all the Lords of...

Only checked out the bar but was a comfortable chilled out place to have a drink with the wife. Polite staff. Good selection of beers and spirits. Have been here a few times over the last couple of years.

We visit every year, and we are always pleased with the food and the service. We visited last month, and to our horror, this lovely, old establishment had a bistro instead of a bar.Not to pleased with the new menu, and the furniture screams at you, tottaly out of place.Sorry to see it.Visit again, not sure.

Rather expensive drinks from bar, dinner was a bit third rate for a 4* hotel, owner has confused 'darkness' with 'ambience'. Starter was notably stingy and lacking flavour (prawn mayo) whereas the pate appeared to be a supermarket special. At least it had some taste - possibly too much taste, for a starter... Main was interesting - the fish was...

The Radnorshire Arms is four centuries old and seems very unspoilt outside and in, so visit if you love history and imagine all the fun and life that has been lived in these oak-panelled rooms. Our large bedroom (an upgrade) was easy to imagine candle-lit, but also had very comfortable bed (hotel is having a refurb). Collection of blue and...

Having read some of the most recent reviews I find their comments both misleading and to be honest fanciful. The hotel is a multiple protected building and in so cannot simply throw up contemporary decor. The rooms have been fully refurbished with whirlpool baths in all including the garden lodges. The public areas are currently being refurbished but are being...

The food is very average and Both of our drinks had to be replaced. It would be a beautiful place to go if it was looked after. The building is now very tired through lack of maintenance. I recently visited with my family, the garden has a play area for children........ Nearly every item is damaged, unsafe and broken!! Not...

We can't fault any of the staff, or how clean our room was...it's just that this hotel is dated, does not look welcoming at all and needs brightening up. The breakfast was very good but inside and out it is shabby. Time for someone to come in and do a complete makeover.

I had a large booking for 17 and the team there dealt with it professionally from the start, regularly putting up with me bombarding them with silly questions for about two months. Also handling me chopping and changing things at short notice. Deniyal in particular was very helpful. The rooms were very quirky, it was quite an experience. Dinner was...
