Romantic getaways and family adventures. We are a family-run, eco-friendly glamping site set in 25 acres of woodland on the beautiful Welsh borders. Redwood Valley is a secret refuge where kids can roam free and you can enjoy absolute peace and tranquillity. Our hidden valley has just two secluded yurts nestled on the edge of the woodland and overlooking the wildflower meadow and brook, and a magical woodland cabin perched high up the slope amongst the treetops.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent! Stayed for a few nights in the Seren yurt with family of four, and there was plenty of room. David was very welcoming and v.helpful. Amenities are excellent. Beautiful woodland and surrounding all so well balanced with nature and practicalities. Local town Presteigne has a great butchers, fruit and veg shop etc and fantastic places to eat. We would definitely go back. Also the woodlands and trees are beautiful.

Redwood Valley is an Oasis and we highly recommend it. David is doing an amazing work all through the year to maintain the place, and it feels as if our stay also was part of that. The toilet is 1 minutes walk from the two very lovely yurts, the kitchen and shower also. We were a bit worried about that but after a day also our young kids felt comfortable to walk there by themselves. The whole area is so lovely and there is so much to do. Great shops in Preistenge.

Surprise trip for the other half went down really well. She loved everything about it. It's surrounded by a beautiful forest which has a river flowing through it. The sound of the birds and the running river puts your mind at ease instantly. The cabin itself is spotless and feels very cosy. You have a fireplace in the cabin to keep you warm and a bbq grill outside the cabin incase you want to cook something. If not, the kitchen is a little bit of a walk away but it is worth the walk. It's a nice walk through the forest anyway so no complaints. The kitchen is well kitted and even had games and some interesting literature. I will definitely be returning in the future. Splendid.

This was our third visit as a family. The valley is secluded, private, and filled with wildlife. We enjoyed watching bats, and spotted otters and toads. My favourite part about visiting Redwood Valley is how free the children are - lots of exploring, running to the treehouse, playing in the stream and on the swing etc. (Our ages were from 3 months to 6 years old.) Highly recommended.

Our third stay here with family and grandchildren. The site is wonderful and peaceful. Until the children start playing in the stream! I hope the otter has recovered. We were in the tree cabin, which is excellent. Plenty of cooking facilities in the shared area. And worth going down to the pond at dusk for the bats' display.

The treetop cabin was beautifully designed and made - in wood of course. If it was chilly outside, it was warm inside because of the sheep's wool insulation. In the evening we used the lovely log burner. The compost loos were clean and pleasant. I loved the outdoor kitchen. It was covered and protected from the elements. Each accommodation had their own fridge and shelf for provisions. We were there at bluebell time which was an extra treat.

Room Tip: There is a steep path up to the cabin from the outdoor kitchen - only for a few minutes though.

I stayed in the cabin for a week while I took a chair-making class being held in the property. It was my idea of heaven. The grounds are gorgeous and I got to witness the bluebells blooming ever brighter over the week I was there. The cabin was delightful with wonderful afternoon light and all the creature comforts I needed. It has a warm and wonderfully zen aesthetic and was the perfect place for me to experience the UK countryside for the first time in true “glamping” style.

Excellent stay in this beautifully made cabin. It really makes the most of its breathtaking setting amongst the treetops. Loved the balcony, the windows and the woodburning stove kept us warm. We'd love to come back.

This is our second visit to Redwood Valley and we will certainly be back. David is a great host and happy to answer any questions regarding the area. Our children aged 14 & 9 love it too. It is idyllic , hammocks in the trees, a wonderful tree swing for all ages, and so much nature to enjoy. We saw deer roaming around and caught an otter on our night vision camera which we set up each evening. All you can hear is bird song. They have shops, pubs and takeaways in the local village of Presteigne which is short drive and there is so much to visit in the area. We can recommend The Cabin Chinese takeaway and also visited the Red Kite Feeding Centre at Gigrin Farm where we saw over 200 Red Kites. You are able to utilise the fully equipped outdoor kitchen which overlooks the valley and they also provide a fridge, BBQ at your yurt and games to play. If you are looking for peace & quiet and also love nature then this is the place for you. We stayed in Elian which has a king size bed, a double futon and single futon for the children. plenty of space for us all and a wood burner to keep you warm on those chilly evenings and mornings. Thanks David!
