Great hotel, excellent accommodation and very helpful staff that made time to assist us even though there were Christmas parties which meant that it was bursting at the seams with very jovial customers. Parking was a problem initially as the private car park was full due to the party goers, however the receptionist kept an eye on it and when...

A lovely and welcoming place to stay. The hotel has been completely refurbished since my previous stay. Friendly and professional staff and nothing too much bother for them. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Restaurant a bit expensive in the evening - not used to paying £7 for a dessert in very rural mid Wales.

For many years we have been visiting The Royal Oak and it has seemed quite reasonable but our last visit we noticed quite a large price increase on the rooms ! The rooms are the same and the hotel seems to operate the same way so why such a large jump in pricing ?

All members of staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. The bedroom was compact but contained everything we needed and the bathroom was bright and modern. It was a very short distance to Powis Castle which is the main attraction in the locality.

This is a good looking and comfortable inn. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was decent if standard. Our room was well-appointed and the bathroom with a serious power shower was very good. The room was far too hot though and spoilt our night's sleep. The heating had been turned up for other guests but not reduced. It...
