Spent a couple of nights at the Tadross on our visit to Barry, as part of the Gavin & Stacey experience. The rooms were freshly decorated and clean, with comfortable beds and crisp bedding. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room, which was refreshed without issue when requested. Welcome and service friendly. The place has obviously seen better days, but at £45 a night per room you get what you pay for. Although breakfast was included don’t expect too much, as we were the only ones in the breakfast room and they seemed surprised to see us. Overall wouldn’t complain given the price and service.

Stayed one night at the Tadross hotel, staff all very friendly rooms weren’t ready when we arrived (before the check in time) they kept our luggage locked away for us. When we did check there were no issues the rooms were clean, towels and shower gel provided, tea and coffee, television, en suite bathrooms. We stayed on the first floor and couldn’t hear any of the noise from the pub when we went to sleep, beds were comfy enough the rooms do get very warm when visiting in summer but would recommend if you’re in the area looking for an affordable room.

Booked in around an hour early with a warm welcome and no problem. The room was clean with lovely white bedding and towels. Breakfast was good, toast, conserves, cereals, yoghurt, juice ,tea and coffee as much as you want and no rush. The staff were very nice and nothing too much trouble. We only paid £45 for a double room so no complaints there.

Paid £165 for three nights should be done under trade descriptions. Asked about breakfast ( I have stayed before lockdown ) was told " we don't do breakfast anymore" in a sarcastic manner then no WiFi in the room Asked a member of staff who had to ask someone else " does the WiFi stretch that far " no sorry I don't think it does? Rooms wernt serviced had to ask for clean towels. When we checked in there was hairs in the shower and one on the pillow . ( it wasn't a hair from someone's head ! And mould in the shower. Don't get me wrong I didn't expect the ritz. As for the " FIRE DRILL " When at 2.30 in the morning the fire alarms were going off..... well I will leave it there

My husband booked me a 2 night break for my birthday using Global Hotel Card. What a disaster....I phoned to ask whether there were any restrictions and was told that our booking was cancelled! No email or phone call and no prospect of a refund!! Global Hotel card only have an American telephone number and said that due to Covid 19 there would be no refund. As a key worker who has nursed people daily for the last 4 months its another kick I'm the teeth. Do not book this hotel and do not use Global Hotel Card.

Me and my husband stayed here for 1 nite and that was too long.
The guy on reception had a attitude and gave very brief information about the hotel, breakfast was not included as stated on trip advisor.
The room was awful the head board was broke, the full length mirror was meant to be on the wall but had obviously fallen off.
The bed was so lumpy, the toilet was the noisiest thing I have ever used, you could hear everyone's toilet being used, awful system.
We could smell drugs being smoked and it was coming into our room so had to shut the windows,it was weed for sure.
Which then made the room really hot.
Budget rooms should still be a certain standard and we didn't receive that.
Would highly not recommend this hotel.

I went here with my boyfriend as we were celebrating my cousins birthday in Barry… we arrived and the lady couldn’t find our key so we were waiting for ages. When we got to the room there were pubes in the sink and in the shower. My boyfriend went for a shower and it was blocked so he took the plug hole out and it was clogged with hair. There was poo on the floor and beer stains up the wall. There was white stuff on the wall (so we all know what that is). Tissue underneath the counter. Glass on the outside of the window sill. This isn’t even the worst part. Around midnight we saw the lock on the door move and I shouted ‘don’t come in here!’ The person behind the door didn’t listen and unlocked the door (god knows where he got the key from). My boyfriend went to the door and opened it and said ‘what are you doing!’ The man was wearing a balaclava and had an empty Iceland bag and was smoking a spliff so was obviously going to rob our room. As soon as he saw my boyfriend he ran off down the stairs. I was so scared that I put things in front of the door incase he tried again. So we didn’t sleep that night. I honestly wouldn’t stay here if I were you. One of the most horrible experiences ever.

The staff and owner were absolutely lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean too, although the mattress was a little soft. The only thing is there aren't bedside tables but it's a headboard with a plank of wood sticking out, instead of a separate bedside table. The plank of wood is very close to the mattress and on the first night I banged my head when I was asleep, so on the next couple of nights I wrapped one of the pillows around it. The curtains weren't too bad but blackout ones would be better. However these are really minor things. Everyone was so friendly and it was all clean so that's the most important thing. Like I say, nothing was too much trouble. It wasn't noisy either, only in the evenings until 11/11.30 when the pub was open. I'd definitely stay again.

Worst place we’ve ever stayed. Booked 2 rooms with our friends for 2 nights but just about made it through the one night. As previous reviews have said the toilet system is very loud and you can hear everyone’s toilets going. Mattress felt hollow was just like laying on a bench. Loud music all night. Was offered drugs and asked if we had any to sell but by two different people. But wasn’t too surprised by this as we went into a local shop before hand and got talking to the member of staff who said “you’re brave staying at the Tadross. There is housing connected to the back of the pub that the council house the homeless” To top it all, during the night we had someone trying to open the room door. Watched the door handle going up and down. Needless to say we didn’t stay the second night. Toni on the reception desk did handle our complaints the next morning very well to her credit.

Terrible experience.
We booked for NYE on a whim as we are Gavin and Stacey fans and because of the connection.
Wasn’t expecting the earth but it was so depressing.
The woman who checked us in was lovely but after that it went downhill.
The room, though large, was bland and dated. I was convinced that the window was open as it was so cold and draughty - the window was cracked.
The radiator didn’t work and we had to go to bed fully clothed and with the quilt from the second bed on the double bed.
It really is one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in. It wasn’t worth £20 but I paid £63.
We didn’t venture to the bar until the morning where we encountered staff. Asked to buy a coffee and the woman did make me one but it was clear they wanted us to leave. They were really unfriendly.
Then later realised my daughter had left her sentimental cuddly bunny. Rang and asked and they said the cleaner hadn’t been down but would ring me back. They never did. Then rang the next day and asked again and again they hadn’t seen the cleaner and again promised to ring back and never did. Didn’t care that a child had lost their precious bunny.
If I could give 0 stars I would.
The only good thing was the woman who checked us in. She was great but unfortunately I don’t know her name.

Hi, we have rooms on the ground floor for easy access for people with poor mobility. The rooms have showers not baths. Hope this helps, Zoe
