Our stay here was ok- stayed in the suite with mom and dad. Pretty over priced considering they just put an old matress on the floor for me, and charged the same amount as my parents. Also we paid extra for an AC room and it just spilled water onto the floor-they eventually fixed it but when talked to owner,...

This is a rare breed of hostel that combines superior accommodations with a laid back hostel vibe. Note that the Refugio de Sol and Hostel San Pancho are the same place - Refugio de Sol is private rooms on the 1st floor and Hostel San Pancho is dorm-style accommodation on the ground floor. Refugion de Sol is more like a...

I knew going in this was not a luxury hotel by any means, but I was hoping that previous positive reviews meant I was in for an overall pleasant experience. I stayed in one of the private rooms upstairs, not the hostel. The room was OK except that the windows opened to the public hallway, meaning the only way to...

I rented rooms for a group of 20 people here for two nights in a row and everyone was hospitable and great people. The showers were hot, the rooms were nice, it's close to to the beach and the art and decor makes you feel at home. I will definitely book them again.

My husband, 4 year old son, and I stayed at Refugio de sol for 3 nights and it wasn't long enough!!! Sol greeted us on arrival with a great smile and attitude. She showed us around and made us feel right at home. Alejandro was accommodating and knowledgable and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, we...

This is a simple hostel-like hotel. Slightly worn down at the edges, but clean and great breakfast of fruit and homemade muffin. The "Suite" is not worth the $$ because there is a rooster about 10 feet away in neighbors yard which starts crowing at 3am! I'm all for roosters and backyard animals - plenty all over Mexico- but this...

We are in our late 60s so the distance of the walk to the heart of town and the beach was too far. It was definitely further than they told us. If you're young and want to hike back and forth, it would be a good, basic, clean place to stay. The breakfast was healthy, the common room great, WiFi...

If you want security, don't go here. There are no locks on the door or windows and no lockers. It's also noisy and right on the main street. The owner was very rude to us and kept running us around about our refund (I had to make 3 in person return visits and listen to an insulting lecture in Spanish...

I spent 10 days at Refugio de Sol in February and I loved the general atmosphere of this clean and welcoming hostel. Breakfast is incredible (you must be into healthy food, if you fancy junk food stay away!), the management is very helpful in any occasion, better for Spanish speaking but the couple running it makes every effort to make...

I found this hostel/B&B through sayulita.com as I am traveling in that area and wanted to check out some small towns along the coast. Booked a room easily online, and found the hostel no problem, its on the main road as you first come into town. I am so glad I came here, both to stay at Refugio de Sol...
