We stayed at the Wright House which actually isn't a house at all. There is a house, which was relocated and built into a hill, and the owner builder has constructed a two bedroom apartment underneath it which is marketed as Wright House Luxury Accommodation, so you sort of get the bottom floor of a two-story place. In fact the only 5-star thing about the Wright House is the price - $330 per night, which would actually get you into real 5-star accommodation even in Sydney or Melbourne. And - note carefully - for this price you don't even get use of the two bedrooms, as 'use of the second bedroom, or en-suite' will incur an additional charge. The place has been built in an wooden paneled 'Olde Worlde' style, and is quite comfortable, although the carpets are a bit grubby, and the kitchen/dining facilities are very basic indeed. The lounge has been furnished with 1930s style chairs, and similar bits and pieces. The bathrooms are well fitted out, although there are no bathroom amenities except shampoo and soap, so if you want bubbles in your spa, remember to bring your own. The beds are comfortable, at least in the room we used. Thre's a wood fire in the lounge, and a split cycle air conditioner, but the warmth didn't really extend to the bedroom, so you'll need an extra blanket at night in the winter, and probbaly the same would apply in the summer with the cooling etc. You'll find a carton of milk in the fridge, and a bit of ground coffee for use in the plunger, and that's about it. Fortunately it's well located, and there are plenty of cafes around for your morning caffeine fix. All in all a very disappointing stay, but fortunately we were only there for a single night.…
